Strongest Spirit Beast Master Family

Chapter 379 Ambush

The recent test had confirmed Blaze Regret's earlier suspicions: Kartis Sham was indeed a man concerned with appearances and would not openly tear open the past in front of all these powerful figures.

Therefore, the real storm would come during the trial.

"The trial will once again be held in the Kartis Family's ancient grounds. The ranking will be determined by the number of Thunder Soul Beads each of you acquires. Those who rank in the top three will enjoy the Kartis Family's abundant cultivation resources, and your families will receive the Kartis Family's protection."

Kartis Sham stood up, his resonant voice echoing in everyone's ears.

"Activate the Ancient Mirror!"

With a deep voice, Kartis Sham's words, wrapped in spiritual energy, spread across a vast area, instantly heightening the tension among all the young people present. Their eyes were fervently fixed on the gigantic mirror surface standing in the center, which was beginning to ripple.

"Buzz!"

As the ripples spread, a desolate land gradually emerged from within the mirror, exuding an ancient and vast aura.

This was the renowned secret realm of the Kartis Family, the Kartis Family's Ancient Land.

"Go!"

The atmosphere was ignited by someone in the crowd, and variously colored spiritual portals swiftly appeared, sketched out of thin air. Immediately, figures resembling a swarm of locusts rushed towards the huge mirror surface with the sound of wind breaking.

This scene was indeed visually striking.

A low rumble of thunder came from afar as Kartis Van, riding on the back of a Silver Thunder Wolf, swept past like a dazzling flash of lightning. A faint, mocking voice reached Blaze Regret's ears.

"I told you, be careful. Whatever you do, don't let me end up killing you."

Narrowing his eyes at Kartis Van's retreating figure, a cold light flickered in Blaze Regret's eyes. With a forceful step, he propelled himself forward, the air exploding in his wake, swiftly darting towards the mirror surface and disappearing into it in an instant.

As the last person entered, the ripples on the mirror quickly dissipated, replaced by images of those participating in the trial.

"Blaze Ash, that item will be mine sooner or later."

Watching Blaze Regret's figure fade away, Kartis Sham's gaze gradually turned cold.

"Swish!"

Upon stepping into the mirror, Blaze Regret flipped in mid air and landed steadily on the ground. A gust of sandy wind roared past, causing him to squint slightly.

Straightening up, Blaze Regret slowly scanned his surroundings. To his surprise, only a few people had landed near him. Upon seeing Blaze Regret, their expressions changed slightly, and they quickly retreated into the distance.

To them, a Ninth Stage Spirit Imperial Master like Blaze Regret was an unbeatable existence. Facing him meant a swift elimination unless they wished for it. Read exclusive adventures at empire

"This is somewhat different from what I imagined."

Ignoring those who fled, Blaze Regret took a few steps forward, his expression thoughtful.

The area was completely isolated from the world, with towering mountains standing eternally in the distance. The ancient trees growing on them exuded a desolate aura.

"Ah!"

As Blaze Regret was surveying the ancient land, a piercing scream suddenly cut through the sky. It was a Sixth Stage Spirit Imperial Master, with a sand colored long snake wrapped around his throat. The snake was visibly siphoning his blood at an alarming speed.

After being drained of blood, the young man's face turned deathly pale as he fell backward, his stiff hands still clutching the snake's body tightly. The lingering look of terror on his face was quite shocking to behold.

"This is bad, it's a Sand Viper!"

Recognizing the snake that burrowed back into the ground, Blaze Regret's eyes narrowed sharply. Flames flickered at his feet as his figure transformed into a black shadow, swiftly retreating.

"Whoosh!"

As he moved, the ground he had passed over began to writhe, and numerous sand colored long snakes shot out like lightning, their gaping maws aiming to bite his throat.

A flash of red light streaked by as Red leaped down from Blaze Regret's shoulder. Its sharp claws traced a semicircular arc of light, instantly severing the heads of several sand colored long snakes.

Watching the headless snake bodies continue to writhe frantically, a drop of cold sweat trickled down Blaze Regret's forehead. Although he remained calm during the danger, he felt a wave of lingering fear now that it had passed.

The Sand Viper is a mid tier Imperial grade spirit beast with earth attributes. These creatures live only in remote, barren regions, often lying in ambush beneath sand or soil. They attack suddenly when other spirit beasts or spiritual masters pass by, draining their victims' blood.

Countless lives have met their end at the hands of these natural predators.

"It seems this trial is far from as peaceful as I imagined," he murmured to himself. Just as Blaze Regret was about to leave with Red, the ground around him began to move rapidly like flowing water, forming a massive vortex with him at its center.

Upon closer inspection, the vortex was teeming with countless figures that blended seamlessly with the earth, the Sand Vipers!

"Their numbers...," Blaze Regret thought, feeling a slight tingle of dread. Even with his skills, escaping from such a large swarm of Sand Vipers seemed uncertain, unless he summoned the Ice Control Irenix and flew into the sky.

However, doing so would reveal his trump card, the Third Spirit portal, which had never been shown in Snow Storm City. This could potentially bring unexpected trouble.

After all, a Ninth Stage Spirit Imperial Master possessing a Third Stage Lord grade spirit beast was indeed quite unusual.

"Heh, it seems my Wind Movement Technique has become more refined," he mused with a hint of wry amusement.

A mocking laugh echoed down from above, causing Blaze Regret to look up with a slight change in expression. He saw a figure clad in light green attire looking down at him with a smirk.

"It's you."
