Chapter 52: Recollection
Ch51
Third Person PoV
Kojou's mind raced; he looked at the gouged-out portion of the facility.
It had thick metallic interior walls reinforced with steel girders. There were
high-voltage cables, devices for circulating liquid coolant, and countless
monitoring instruments.
It was as sterile as a factory floor.
A small girl slept atop the metal bed placed at the centre. The girl, wearing
nothing but a thin medical gown that looked like a human sacrifice lying upon an altar.
Kojou stood rooted in shock as he gazed at the sight of his still-sleeping little
sister.
"Nagisa…?!"
Lying beside Nagisa, another girl slept; it was as if they were mirror images.
This girl was enveloped in a clear, pale blue mass of glacier-like ice.
Kojou stared wordlessly at the block of ice that was once called the Fairy's Coffin.
The memories which were eaten returned to his mind at once. And his eyes widened.
He then looked at Giada who looked out of breath. He then said.
"You impersonated Avrora for this?"
"I apologize for my impoliteness, Kojou Akatsuki. It was not my intention to
mock you,"
Giada replied quietly. The girl's jade eyes looked straight at Kojou, as if probing deeper into him. She continued.
"But I thought this would be the
easiest way to make you serious."
Kojou seethed, it was already bad that he once again had to feel the emotion of killing Avrora.
But now it was said to him openly that Giada had used his weakness to make him fight seriously.
But he controlled his anger and said.
"Fine whatever. On another note I have one of your descendants with me. Ghirardelli or something."
"Ah, Yes I did hear about that. So what about her?"
"You have one of the fairy coffins don't you? Give me one."
Giada raised her eyebrow at that and said with a smirk.
"You want a kaleid blood in exchange for a descendant of mine, who I probably forgot about? Leave it, keep the descendant."
"Fine then, I will make sure she dies peacefully."
Kojou said, shrugging his shoulders. His response made Giada make a weird face.
"Why are you killing her?"
"She has no use for me."
"Fine, I acknowledge your wits. I will send Hektos. Now move aside, I shall raze this place for toying with the remains of little Avrora."
Hearing that Kojou said in silent rage.
"You have caused enough trouble as it is, leave."
His eyes gleamed dangerously at the emerald haired Primogenitor. Who said in return.
"I am already lenient enough, 4th. Don't push me further, move aside."
"Make me."
Kojou said, ready to rumble once again. Currently even though two Primogenitor's had clashed, the damage was only minimal.
Aside from the MAR facility, most of the island was undamaged. Even the huge lighting storm conjured up by Giada didn't target the civilians.
The only damage was due the earthquake caused by their familiars clashing and their magical powers being allowed to be free.
But that was due to Giada targeting Avrora's body and Kojou focused on protecting. If the two actually fight, it wouldn't take more than a few minutes before the island sinks.
…
While Kojou was dealing with Giada, Yaze was busy being bullied to death by a dead man.
"How did I not sense you?"
Yaze said his booster pills in his hand, while he glared at the man in front of him.
"Don't be so scared. Most can't sense me. Now why don't you move aside, I have to deal with the priestess."
"You are the seventh escapee, Meiga Itogami!"
Yaze said as he crunched on his pill, an enormous amount of wind blew from him. And a duplicate of Yaze was created.
A clone made from simple air, Aerodyne. It rushed at Meiga at a ridiculous speed, but the one eyed man dodged lightly and touched it with his spear.
And the clone was dispelled with ease. Seeing that Yaze was shocked, even Sekkarou couldn't have done such a thing.
"That spear, it can't be!? Ugh!"
Before Yaze could speak more, his chest was sliced and a kick to his gut made him fall from the glass window.
The shattered headphones are the only reminder that he was here.
"Now to meet the priestess."
He began to walk like a robot towards his destination. He then looked at the shattered window and said.
"He survived, how tenacious. No, it is only worthy that my king could save him."
Meiga muttered as he heard a faint laugh coming from the headphones.
"Keh-Keh!"
…
"Aiba-senpai, stand back. We can discuss senpai's behavior later on."
Yukina said as she readied her spear and gazed at the suspicious man who had appeared from the shadows.
"Who is he?" The five girls who were revealed as Vatler's hostages asked.
"He is an escapee from the Prison Barrier!"
Yukina said as she pointed her spear at the man who seemed unfazed by that, and continued walking at his leisurely pace.
Yukina managed to smell the blood on his spear and rushed at him, her first objective was to render the one in front of her powerless.
But her attack missed, Yukina was shocked, she had used her spirit vision, to glimpse in the future.
"It won't work, Sword Shaman. It is precisely that you are an excellent Sword Shaman that you can't defeat me."
"How? No, I understand, it's because of that spear."
Yukina said in shock.
"Indeed. The failed creation, Fangzhen. A type zero schneewalzer, it nullifies both spiritual and magical power. Unlike yours, type seven schneewalzer, Sekkarou. Which only nullifies magical power and enhances your spiritual power."
"But how are you alive then?"
Yukina asked. Nobody could be alive with both spiritual and magical power absent.
"Consider me an exception. Now, Priestess of Cain. It is you whose power my king has desired, so I shall she as to why!"
Meiga said as he rushed at Asagi, but instead of falling back or taking cover, the girl moved forward.
"Mesarthim-Adamas!"
The sheep's diamond covered the hallway blocking the inmate's advance, but he simply slashed with his spear.
The shield shattered but Asagi wasn't perturbed, instead she showed a sly smile. Hearing Meiga's explanation about his spear, she already knew familiars weren't enough.
Meiga had to jump back as a mini gun fired at him, the target being his spear. He looked and saw a MAR robot aiming at him.
Asagi's eyes were glowing red. Seeing that Meiga laughed as he turned off the ability of his spear.
"Haha! I see. In the short time, you managed to hack into MAR's database, take control of a protection robot and re-coded it to work for you. I see why he chose you, Cyber Empress, no Priestess of Cain."
And he vanished in a runic spatial ritual. Leaving Asagi and Yukina behind. While the five hostages were watching from behind the pillars.
…
"Do not be foolish, 4th. Strong you maybe but you aren't at mine level just yet."
Giada said, her heavy breathing already back to normal by now, but so was Kojou's.
"You know, just because you are being a bitch, I missed something that would probably cause me some trouble later down the line."
Kojou said, gazing at the place Meiga had just teleported from. And then looked back at Giada.
"Then I shall show you why you aren't one of us just yet."
Giada said as she rushed at Kojou with speed which was incomparable to her speed before.
But to Kojou it was the same, he was still able to react, and instead of fighting back he jumped back.
"Come, Kiffa-Ater!"
The sword appeared at once in the sky, and with its appearance the gravity increased dozens of times in the region where he was fighting.
Giada became slower and was unable to pursue Kojou, but she didn't get discouraged but instead this fueled her fighting spirit even more.
But Kojou was even faster, he moved his hand and the huge sword in the sky vanished and appeared in his hand.
Its size was now equal to a normal longsword. That caught Giada off guard. And that small opening was all Kojou needed.
"Libra Hebdomos!"
Kojou's body changed, his hair became black as the darkest skies and his eyes became purple, with tinges of neon green in them.
But that was not all, instead of simply activating the Thirdz, Kojou had surrendered his body to his seventh familiar for a while.
Kojou knew he wasn't a match for the experience that Giada had, but his familiars could easily match and even exceed the Primogenitors in that regard.
Kiffa-Ater took his stance, and rushed. Giada was suddenly caught in a bad position; she hadn't considered that Kojou would willingly give up the control of his body.
"Xolotl!"
The giant skeleton appeared once more, but before it could use its spatial powers, the tremendous gravity crushed its bones, making it dust.
The land beneath them began to shake, finally having enough Giada jumped back, getting some leeway from the continued hacking and slashing by Kiffa-Ater.
"Xiuhtecuhtli!"
The torrent of magma advanced towards Kojou at that moment, the visage changed and Kojou regained his control back.
And in an unexpected move, threw the sword at Giada, aiming at her chest, with all his strength.
The sword moved at speeds nearly a hundred times that of sound. But true to her title, Giada managed to avoid getting injured lethally.
But as a result her left hand was cut off from the elbow. Feeling the sensation of pain for the first time in a few decades, Giada involuntarily looked at her severed arm.
Her instincts raged, the humongous amount of magical power was about to explode, destroying anything in its path, but in her pain, Giada had ignored Kojou.
Kojou was waiting for this, he knew all he had was this chance. Giada wouldn't underestimate him again, If he failed here it was a loss for him.
"Leo Pemptos!"
Using the full power of Regulus-Aurum, Kojou reached the speed of light. Momentarily becoming the fastest being on the planet.
Kojou vanished and appeared behind Giada who was about to release her magic power, and smashed his palm at her back.
But before his palm smashed Giada, she had already managed to use her familiar to defend herself, but Kojou wasn't done.
"Gemini Tritos!"
And with that, his palm broke through her defense, smashing her back, and everything below Giada's neck vanished, sent to another dimension.
Within a few moments, the battle was decided. But there was still one thing to look out for.
Giada finally managed to release her magic power. But Kojou created a dome of diamonds around them, while simultaneously making the entire MAR facility ethereal, using Natra-Cinereus.
*Boom*
The entire island shook. The damage was equivalent to a magnitude 9 on the Richter scale.
The loss of life and property was massive. But that was not all, due to the shockwaves reaching the crust.
A Tsunami, with waves as high as 100 feet rose and moved outward from Itogami Island as their start point.
The diamonds broke, and a mystical scene was seen in the now redundant MAR facility.
Kojou's destroyed body restored itself, alongwith his clothes. And he took a sharp gasp.
His gaze landed at the place where Asagi and Yukina were, protecting Nagisa. And sensed that they were not there, but somehow near the Keystone gate.
"Thanks, Natsuki-chan!"
And then looked at Giada, whose head and neck was the only part restored, the blood was slowly going to her neck, recreating her body but Kojou picked her up by her hair.
"So, do we have a deal?"
Kojou asked, gazing into the surprised 3rd Primogenitor's eyes. At that moment, Natsuki-chan appeared with the others.
And saw Kojou standing in the middle of a black, charred landscape, blood all over but his body.
A decapitated head in his hand, emerald hair on it, and blood clinging to the severed neck, in a horrifying manner.
"You did not just beat the 3rd Primogenitor! Akatsuki!"
The English uttered in shock seeing the scene in front of her.
…
