Chapter 004: Arrogant Girl
“I’m Yoruyuki Amano. Nice to meet you,” Amano said with a smile. “You two seem to have a good relationship. Are you friends from your previous school?”
It seemed that Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, Horikita Suzune, and Kushida Kikyou, along with the annoying Koenji Rokusuke, had a previous interaction on the bus.
The two in front of him already knew each other.
Horikita Suzune looked up at Yoruyuki Amano for a moment, then slowly lowered her gaze back to the book in her hands.
She spoke in a calm tone, “To judge something solely based on a single sentence, I can only say that your judgment is too superficial. Seeing me and this socially challenged person next to me, and still saying the word ‘friends,’ I suggest you go to the infirmary and get your eyes checked.”
This is outrageous… Ayanokoji Kiyotaka couldn’t help but turn his head to look at Horikita. Although he knew that the socially challenged person was referring to him, saying it so directly was still too much.
Yoruyuki Amano’s face remained unchanged, and this response did not surprise him.
Horikita Suzune, the younger sister of the third-year student council president, Horikita Manabu.
This excellent and talented beauty, due to being a complete brocon, had an extremely narrow view of the world, lacking both empathy and teamwork skills.
Due to being confident in her excellence more than anyone of the same age, she misunderstood Horikita Manabu’s aloofness. She liked to think of others as nuisances, directly kicking them away.
Yoruyuki Amano half-jokingly said, “You sure are strict. With this attitude, you might never find a boyfriend.”
“It doesn’t matter; I don’t care about these things.”
Horikita Suzune raised her head to look at Yoruyuki Amano, her voice chilly. “I entered this school with a certain belief. If you want to get along with people around you, go find someone else. Don’t disturb me.”
After saying this, Horikita Suzune lowered her head to continue reading her book. Yoruyuki Amano naturally didn’t want to continue an uninteresting conversation.
He turned his head to look at Ayanokoji Kiyotaka and flashed a friendly smile.
Ayanokoji remained calm on the surface, while his mind was racing, figuring out how to appear like an ordinary high school student.
Should he introduce himself proactively? Would that make him seem too familiar, deviating from his supposed introverted personality? What if Horikita saw through his facade? If his lies were exposed, he might be labeled as a liar. Would this raise suspicion from Horikita and Yoruyuki and eventually reveal his true abilities, leading to skepticism from the whole class?
A series of questions rapidly flashed through Ayanokoji’s mind, quickly dismissed.
Since Yoruyuki Amano took the initiative to look over, it would be more reasonable for him to start the conversation. It wouldn’t seem unnatural, and he could make his first friend!
Ayanokoji looked at Yoruyuki Amano with some expectation. However, he saw Amano turn around directly without looking at him again.
“???”
Ayanokoji felt a bit bewildered.
Was this how high school students behaved nowadays? Why did you smile at me just now? Was there something wrong with my outfit?
Could it be that the knowledge he gained from the White Room was all wrong?
‘Are ordinary high school students supposed to be like Horikita, Yoruyuki, and that Koenji guy?’ Ayanokoji reflected on his past observations.
Yoruyuki Amano, on the other hand, didn’t think much about Ayanokoji. He had no interest in him.
Ayanokoji, the sole successful case of the White Room.
With extraordinary talents since childhood, he was locked in the White Room as an experimental subject, undergoing rigorous controlled education.
It must be acknowledged that Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, as the sole successful case, was indeed a tremendous success.
Years of controlled education had erased any disgust or negative emotions towards the White Room. It had even suppressed his emotions towards the outside world, leaving only curiosity and the joy of learning.
He escaped the White Room with the help of a butler who introduced him to this school.
A person without emotions is hard to control.
At the same time, Amano was well aware of the reason for being assigned to Class D. He shared some similarities with Ayanokoji, lacking the ability to trust others.
For this school, Amano felt only mild disdain.
The world was always about strength and interests.
Unlike Ayanokoji, Amano had desires. He aspired to inherit the Yoruyuki family and control the entire Japan.
“New students, please take your seats.”
At that moment, with the click-clack of high heels, a mature woman with a professional look, black stockings, and a neat ponytail walked into the classroom.
The noisy classroom instantly quieted down as students returned to their seats. For students just transitioning from middle school, a teacher still held a significant level of authority.
The woman introduced herself, “I am your class teacher, Chabashira Sae. Nice to meet you all. I hope we can have a harmonious and fruitful year together.”
As Chabashira Sae began the roll call and went through the usual first-day procedures, the students gradually adapted to the atmosphere of the new class.
