"I don't know, but I'll find out," Harry said.

"I know you will," Padma said confidently. "And I'll find out whatever you need on my end."

Harry then returned to the head office after leaving the Infirmary. He watched the investigation team work, not interfering or bothering them. Instead he made his own observations, writing on a wax tablet he took from his pocket. The table made copies of his notes elsewhere as it cleared, letting him continue to write without worry.

He looked up as the last of the investigators left and Ron entered the office. Ron spoke without being prompted to. "The House Elves were mostly out of the castle the last few days. Apparently it's something they do around this time of year, a big meeting or something...
