Starting from Prototype to Immortality

Chapter 29: Chapter 29: The End!

Chapter 29: The End!

The commoner didn't give up on escaping, but at a detonation 1,000 meters above the ground, the hydrogen bomb unleashed its most devastating power, with an extensive area of impact and influence.

Unless he had the ability to move at hundreds of kilometers per second, escape was utterly impossible.

Not to mention that Chang Wei, in his insanity, initiated not just one nuclear fusion reaction!

As the commoner was affected, caught in the blast, and rendered powerless, a second sun, then a third, rose in succession...

Blinding light and heat radiated from fireballs with temperatures reaching millions, even tens of millions of degrees.

The endless radiation of light and heat enveloped the entire land. The high-temperature fireballs created in the instant of the explosion expanded violently outward, compressing the surrounding air and forming high-pressure shockwaves. These waves spread at supersonic speeds, gradually slowing and weakening into sound waves as they traveled further.

The overpressure crushed everything around it, and the dynamic pressure flung everything into the air.

Even more terrifying was the nuclear radiation!

Within the first few seconds of the explosion, gamma rays and neutron streams were released.

The former traveled at the speed of light, while the latter reached velocities of thousands to tens of millions of meters per second. Both had tremendous penetrative power.

Without nuclear radiation-adapted evolution tailored to the Blacklight Virus, one could not withstand the molecular bond-breaking damage.

Chang Wei was conducting nuclear fusion experiments—a long-time ambition of his. He wanted to see if the Blacklight Virus could evolve into something capable of producing a nuclear fusion reactor.

However, knowing the massive commotion and scale of such experiments might scare off the commoner, he refrained from trying it until now.

Now, with the opportunity at hand, he couldn't resist.

"Over a thousand clones, and they all failed."

Hiding far away in the sky, Chang Wei observed as over a thousand "suns" lit up one after another. The entire area, along with the sky and even the ocean, was laid bare. Clones buried deep underground failed and exploded, vaporizing millions of tons of soil and blasting even more into the atmosphere. Surface and aerial clones detonated as well.

Even those submerged near the coast were not spared.

Not a single success. Still, killing the commoner was worth it.

"It seems nuclear fusion can only be achieved by finding the real Godzilla to devour. Even with the Blacklight Virus, humanity's inability to achieve nuclear fusion means it's beyond the virus's capabilities too."

Chang Wei mused.

Strictly speaking, what he created was more like an unstable Godzilla Red Lotus form—a reactor malfunction leading to an ultimate explosion.

The terrifying temperatures were beyond what even the Blacklight Virus could endure, leading to its complete annihilation.

The biomass-based Blacklight Virus was still too weak. He needed to find a way to elevate it to a conceptual level or something similar.

This Prototype-based world had already been thoroughly wrecked by him. The detonation of over a thousand hydrogen bombs unleashed power far surpassing that of the Tsar Bomba. Not to mention Chang Wei's unrestrained high-altitude explosions caused storms that might circle the Earth for who knows how long, massive tsunamis, and apocalyptic scenes reminiscent of disaster movies.

Seawater submerged cities, and thousand-meter-high tsunamis surged forward!

Dust vaporized and launched into the upper atmosphere would block the sky for years, possibly plunging Earth into an ice age.

So, before the marine life perished en masse, Chang Wei decided to claim this treasure trove for himself.

Using human knowledge and creations, he had defeated the commoner, who relied solely on biological evolution and genetic manipulation. However, that didn't mean he intended to abandon biological research altogether.

After all, evolution hadn't been eliminated yet. Many things from both this era and ancient times still remained, treasures in their own right.

Not to mention the Earth still held many fascinating secrets.

The Blacklight Virus had infected 50% of the global population in depth!

Six months later, the virus had entirely infected the world.

Chang Wei salvaged genetic material from numerous deceased organisms.

The Blacklight Virus integrated these genes into a unified framework. Now, the information displayed on Chang Wei's system interface had changed.

[Chang Wei: Imperial Blacklight Virus/Primordial Blacklight Virus]

Description:

The Imperial Blacklight Virus is a malformed variant of the Primordial Virus. It significantly reduces the damage and remodeling effects on the host's body while evolving toward devouring, replication, and greatly enhanced immune systems.

If the most famous variant of the Primordial Virus—the Blacklight Virus—was designed for creating perfect biological weapons, then the Imperial Blacklight Virus had opened new paths for compatibility, perfect replication, and formidable evolution. It is a brand-new biochemical virus, rightfully the "Emperor" of Blacklight Viruses.

Chang Wei also found remnants of the commoner.

This individual still retained traces of Blacklight Virus cells, but without biomass and with depleted energy, regeneration was impossible.

It was akin to Alex Mercer after being hit by a nuclear bomb, reduced to a small fragment relying on a crow to restore itself.

Chang Wei gazed at this fragment of the Blacklight Virus. Ultimately, he chose neither to absorb nor destroy it.

Who knows? Perhaps when he returned, there would be a thriving ecosystem once again.

"Well then, goodbye, Mr. Commoner."

Chang Wei decided to leave this world.

[Would you like to pay one billion genetic points for world traversal?]

"Yes."

As soon as he spoke, Chang Wei vanished from the original location.
