Starting As A Sect Leader: My Rules Are Bit Wild.

Chapter 43 - Thunderstruck, Beauty Wields Sword, Counter-Kills Fifth Realm

“Everyone, prepare yourselves.”

The various factions tensed. This was the moment. Most were wary, not of the Embracing Moon Sect, but of each other, reluctant to make the first move.

But waiting was no longer an option. They came from different factions, driven by greed. Someone had to act.

Liu Xun watched from the shadows as figures rapidly approached the Embracing Moon Sect. He was eager, but two family elders held him back.

“Are we just watching?”

“The patriarch is never wrong,” one elder said. “We follow his orders.”

“Young Master,” the other elder explained, “you will inherit the Liu family. Observe and learn. Why are these people attacking first?”

Liu Xun frowned. “They must be strong enough to be fearless.”

“That’s one possibility. They could be too weak to sense the others hiding,” the elder said, rolling his eyes. “They’re reckless, even foolish.”

“So, what do you think will happen to them?”

“They’re weak, but led by a Mystic finger cultivator. They’ll easily take the Embracing Moon Sect.”

“I disagree. They’ll all die.”

The elders sighed at Liu Xun’s disbelief.

The attackers drew closer. Led by the Mystic finger cultivator, they were fast. They quickly reached the Embracing Moon Sect.

Suddenly, thunder roared. Massive bolts of lightning struck the attackers!

“Watch out!” they cried, deploying defenses and dodging.

It was futile. The lightning shattered their defenses. Explosions and light filled the night, setting the forest ablaze.

The hidden observers were shocked. “What was that? Struck by lightning? Did they commit some terrible sin?”

One survived: the Mystic finger cultivator. He was charred and smoking, badly injured.

“Damn it,” he muttered, swallowing a pill and continuing his assault.

Inside the Embracing Moon Sect, Lin Fan and the others gathered. The thunder and the cultivator’s aura were a signal.

“An injured Mystic finger,” the First Elder said. He moved to intervene, but the Second Elder stopped him.

“I’ll go,” she said. “If you act now, what will we do later?”

Wu Xingyun stepped forward, surprising everyone.

“Be careful!” the First Elder said. The other elders agreed.

Wu Xingyun smiled. “I will.” She became a streak of light and descended.

“Teacher,” a disciple asked, confused. “Why is the Second Elder going?”

“She’s talented,” an elder replied. “She should have reached Mystic finger long ago, but she was injured. Fighting a Mystic finger is incredibly difficult. She’s risking everything.”

Nearby, another disciple muttered nervously.

Wu Xingyun and the cultivator met.

“A mere Cave Heaven dares stop me? Get out of my way!” the cultivator roared, furious. He attacked, a massive hand of energy descending on Wu Xingyun.

“Don’t misunderstand,” Wu Xingyun said, her sword gleaming. “I’m not stopping you. I’m killing you.”

The cultivator raged. He was a Mystic finger! He unleashed his full power.

Wu Xingyun spat blood onto her sword. “Sky-Piercing Annihilation!”

She transformed into a sword light, and in front of everyone’s disbelieving gazes, she broke through the opponent’s attack, and striking him down.
