Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Banquet of Betrayal

This was the Mingye Emperor's plan: while Feng Mo was engaged at Torrent Prime, the Mingye Empire and the Star Mechs had dispatched two near-T6 fleets and ten T5 fleets, which were now closing in on the New Humanity System.

Having received Feng Mo's warning, commanders Hua Qin of the Beast Roar Fleet and Feng Tianyi of the Gale Fleet swiftly coordinated. After connecting with the Star Giants, they formulated a strategy: the Beast Roar and Gale Fleets would unite and initiate an offensive against the incoming enemy fleets, while the Star Giants would maneuver into position to strike from behind, aiming to crush the enemy in one decisive ambush.

On the bridge of the Storm God, where the fleet flagship standard included the Storm God and Orca classes, Hua Qin stood at the command console, observing the nine T5 Mystic Birds feeding back reconnaissance data.

On the other end of the holoscreen were Feng Tianyi and the Star Giant commander, Parsley. Parsley, though towering and powerful, recognized Hua Qin's strategic acumen. While Hua Qin was young, Feng Tianyi's deference to her leadership—and the Star Giant leader's instructions—had encouraged Parsley to follow her command.

"Parsley, lead the Star Giants to ambush in interstellar space, ready to cut off the Mingye Empire and Star Mechs' retreat," Hua Qin directed. "Uncle Tianyi, you and I will combine our forces and execute a saturation strike the moment their fleet emerges."

Both commanders nodded. Feng Tianyi, a long-time associate of Feng Mo, was thoroughly familiar with the tactics Hua Qin was proposing. Stealth attacks during transitions between systems had become a signature of Feng Mo's forces, and Feng Tianyi knew how to execute them seamlessly.

After aligning their strategy, Hua Qin proceeded with detailed orders:

"Nine T5 Mystic Birds will shadow the enemy fleet. Prepare the seven T5 Pegasi and T5 Sword Dragons with tracking missiles. All ships' primary and secondary cannons, as well as the T6 Iron Dragons' five hundred T6-class missiles, target the enemy flagships. Fire upon lock confirmation."

"Acknowledged, Commander!" The fleet captains responded in unison, each hurrying to their stations.

Meanwhile, the Mingye Empire and Star Mechs' combined fleet reached interstellar space just outside the New Humanity System. The Star Mechs' supreme commander, Luo Heng, turned to the Mingye Empire's leader, Commander Ming Shi, and cautioned:

"Commander Ming Shi, Feng Mo's fleet frequently exploits fleet emergence points for ambushes. It's his hallmark tactic. We should proceed cautiously—perhaps send a recon squad first."

Luo Heng's tone was suggestive, as he was not in command here. While the Star Mechs had committed eight T5 fleets, the Mingye Empire's contribution—one near-T6 and twelve T5 fleets—made Ming Shi the de facto leader.

Although Luo Heng's caution annoyed Ming Shi, the commander dismissed it with confidence. "That may be Feng Mo's method, but his officers might operate differently. Besides, we're deploying twenty-one fleets. We're here to crush them, not sneak in. That said, I'll exercise due caution—just don't overdo it."

After some reflection, Luo Heng agreed. With the combined fleets operating so overtly, their presence had likely already been detected. He figured their sheer scale would have thrown the enemy into chaos by now. Even if they anticipated an ambush, they couldn't avoid the initial onslaught.

Reluctantly, Ming Shi issued orders for shields to be raised and close-defense guns to prepare for intercepts, should an ambush arise.

On the Storm God's bridge, the two allied fleets were primed and waiting. Reports from the Mystic Birds showed that the enemy fleets were finally emerging from interstellar space, their approach triggering alarm notifications. Since the enemy was still partially in transition, the radar could not yet gauge their exact numbers.

"T5 Pegasi, T6 Iron Dragons, and T5 Sword Dragons—initiate missile launch!" Hua Qin commanded.

"Target all enemy vessels as they enter the system. Fire primary and secondary cannons!"

Though Hua Qin's voice lacked the rumbling authority of some male commanders, her steady and precise manner left no room for doubt. As Feng Mo's former secretary, her command of starship tactics was top-notch; many of Feng Mo's aides, including Ai Er, Hua Qin, and Han Peipei, had developed into formidable leaders in their own right.

At her order, more than twenty thousand T5 tracking missiles, trailing fiery tails, surged toward the enemy fleet. The missiles split into sixty thousand micro-missiles, each equipped with miniature radars that locked onto the enemy ships like a shower of meteors.

The combined fleet's close-defense systems sprang to life, intercepting the bulk of the missile swarm. Despite this, a portion still broke through, dealing considerable damage and destroying numerous T5 starships in explosive fireballs.

Their interception rate was high—72%—but the onslaught from the allied Beast Roar and Gale Fleets was overwhelming, and the remaining 28%—nearly seventeen thousand missiles—descended on the enemy fleet, obliterating more than four hundred T5 ships in one brutal wave, incinerating their crews.

Meanwhile, five T6 Iron Dragons launched T6-class missiles toward the enemy flagship, executing a saturation strike with five hundred missiles. T6 missiles, far harder to intercept, saw only a 20% interception rate by the enemy's defenses. With four hundred T6 missiles hammering down on one flagship, it didn't last three seconds before it shattered, dragging dozens of nearby T5 vessels with it.

Even though Ming Shi had anticipated an ambush, the sheer scale of this strike shook him. He had never witnessed a missile onslaught of this magnitude before. Such specialized assault ships were rare in the entire Lihuang Starfield, so his shock was understandable.

Luo Heng, however, remained far more composed. He had encountered the Storm Fleet's devastating tactics on the battlefield against the Starsea Federation. The memory of their Warp Ships delivering saturation strikes and the Vermilion Ape annihilating three T6 Star Mechs

in a single blow was burned into his programming.
