Chapter 35: Super Evolution Phase 2, Spider's Suspicion
The light in Tony Stark's lab was dim, the only illumination coming from the dozens of holographic screens floating around him.
He focused intently, analyzing the data on the serum he'd been working on—the Super Evolution Serum.
This phase was dedicated to survival; he needed regeneration, heightened physical durability, and other enhancements to ensure he could face anything that came his way.
As he stared at the data, he realized something: he would need additional genetic samples, samples that contained exactly the traits he sought.
Tony tapped on the console, activating a link to Marvel.
"Marvel," Tony said, "give me an update on the genetic samples acquired so far."
The AI's voice filtered into the lab, clear and concise. "We have successfully acquired genetic material from Subject A, also known as Deadpool, during an altercation between the X-Men and the Brotherhood. Deadpool was relatively easy to track and extract samples from. The team has returned with his sample."
Tony nodded, satisfied. "And what about the other?"
"We've also secured a sample from Logan, also known as Wolverine," Marvel replied. "He was…more difficult, but the mission was successful."
A small smile crossed Tony's face. "Good. Those two alone should provide significant enhancement to survivability. Their regenerative capabilities will give us a foundation for a strong defense."
Tony paused, considering his next question. "Marvel, what's the current status of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?"
"Peter Parker and Miles Morales are both currently in New York. Surveillance indicates a heightened level of activity around them, likely related to local disturbances."
"Perfect. Keep monitoring them and alert me if anything significant happens."

[Daily Bugle Broadcast]
The camera feed cut to the animated face of J. Jonah Jameson, ranting with his usual vigor on his latest broadcast.
"And there you have it, folks! Not just one, but two masked menaces swinging around our city! The so-called 'Spider-Men' think they can do whatever they want, putting civilians at risk with their reckless web-slinging!" He pointed at the screen, his voice dripping with disdain.
"It's only a matter of time before these vigilantes bring more trouble to our front doors!"
Across the city, Peter Parker watched the broadcast, his face twisting into a grimace. 'Great. Another day, another lecture from J.J.J. about how I'm ruining the city. Never gets old.'
Just then, Aunt May's voice called out from the kitchen. "Peter, could you give me a hand, dear?"
Peter turned off the TV and headed to the kitchen, helping Aunt May place dishes in the cupboard.
But as he set down the last plate, a tingle shot through him—a familiar sense, warning him of danger nearby. His Spider-Sense.
"Sorry, Aunt May, gotta go!" He didn't wait for her reply, dashing out of the room, slipping into his Spider-Man suit, and launching himself through his bedroom window. As he soared above the city, he noticed police cars speeding toward a location just blocks away, followed by fire trucks.
He swung into action, quickly closing in on the building in distress.
But as he approached, he noticed another figure already on the scene, moving through the flames with practiced ease. It was another Spider-Man, clad in a black-and-red suit.
"Late to the party, Spidey-Bro?" Miles called, glancing over his shoulder with a smirk as Peter landed beside him.
Peter shrugged. "Got held up. You know how it is."
The two of them worked seamlessly, rescuing people trapped in the building and containing the damage. Once everyone was safe, they swung off together, finally stopping atop a nearby rooftop to catch their breath.
Peter turned to the other Spidey, curiosity evident in his tone. "So…you think it's time we finally exchange real identities?"
Miles chuckled, shaking his head. "I dunno, man. I don't see you unmasking either."
Peter sighed, giving up the attempt. "Alright, alright, forget I asked."
As they stood in companionable silence, a faint ringtone buzzed from inside Miles's backpack.
Peter's brow furrowed slightly; he recognized that ringtone as the same one his friend, Miles Morales, always used. But he dismissed it quickly, chalking it up to coincidence.
'Still, maybe I should keep an eye on that,' he thought to himself.
Miles glanced at his watch, straightening up. "Gotta run. Catch you later, Spidey."
"Yeah. Later," Peter replied, watching as Miles swung away, the realization of a possible connection just barely forming in his mind. 'Nah, it couldn't be. Could it?'

{S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters}
Back at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Nick Fury gathered his team in the briefing room.
He stood in front of the holographic display, an array of files and dossiers lighting up on the screen behind him.
"As you all know," Fury began, "we're not just dealing with a single threat anymore. We've got multiple organizations on the move—Hydra, The Hand, The Ten Rings—all with unknown objectives and resources. It's time to expand our team."
He tapped on the console, bringing up profiles of potential new recruits.
"These individuals are talented but largely operate alone. Some are mutants, others are newly surfaced heroes. But if we're going to survive what's coming, we're going to need them on our side."
He turned to Falcon. "Sam, I want you to lead a team to approach them. Start with these three," Fury pointed to the holograms of potential recruits. Each one was a hero with remarkable skills, though perhaps not as powerful as the Avengers' core members. But they would fill crucial gaps in their abilities.
The screen displayed a tactical map, marking the locations of several candidates scattered across the country.
Fury briefed each of the team members, assigning specific roles and responsibilities.
As he outlined the plan, the room fell silent, the weight of what was coming settling over each of them.
Fury closed the briefing with a final glance around the room, his voice firm. "We're not just fighting battles anymore. We're preparing for a war. Let's get to work."
