Star Wars: Conquest

Chapter 7: 7 The Gazes from the Galaxy

The Galactic Republic is a behemoth that has ruled tens of thousands of systems in the galaxy since more than 25,000 years ago. Since its establishment, it has been jointly ruled by the Galactic Senate and the Jedi Order.

March 20, 25014, Republic Era, 39BBY. Coruscant, the capital of the Galactic Republic, is also the most developed and prosperous planet in the entire galaxy.

The Jedi Temple, Coruscant and the Galactic Senate are tied for the most magnificent buildings. Five towers stand above the huge trapezoidal main building, which is thousands of meters high and more than 500 meters wide. The architectural structure also marks the supreme authority of the Jedi Order, the guardians of the Galactic Republic.

A grey-haired, hale and vigorous 69-years-old man stood in one of the towers of the Jedi Temple, and reported in a cold tone: "Master Yoda, Senator Palpatine has agreed to participate in the senate to provide support and promote the judicial fleet to directly send troops to intervene in the Andoan Wars."

Standing by the window of the hall with his back to this side is a shriveled old man covered in green, less than one meter tall, with long ears, holding a cane, overlooking a group of younglings training outside.

Master Yoda, the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order, is also a respected elder. Hearing the report from the person who came, he didn't look back, but nodded and said: "Thank you, Master Dooku. Very important help, Senator Palpatine."

The way of his speech was very strange, and he always put the subject behind, which became a somewhat awkward inverted sentence.

The old man named Master Dooku also responded very coldly, he just nodded slightly, turned around and left.

Master Yoda just turned his back to him, and after a while, he said slowly: "Call me master, you should my former padawan."

Dooku's cheek twitched, he turned around abruptly and left the room right away.

After a long time, Master Yoda took a deep breath, turned around and looked in one direction, his gaze became deep, and shook his head slightly.

Outside the door after Dooku left, A pair of mentor and apprentice in rough clothes and robes walked towards him. The were a middle-aged man with loose hair and a very energetic young man with a crew cut.

Seeing Dooku approaching, the pair moved to the side and bowed very respectfully and said, "Master."

Dooku was upset, but he nodded in response after seeing the middle-aged man and then walked out of the Jedi Temple.

The middle-aged man kept his bowing posture and waited for Dooku to go away, then he brought his young apprentice into the room where Dooku had just walked out of.

"Master, Master Dooku didn't look like he is having a good day."

"Obi-Wan, Master Dooku has been losing faith in the Jedi Order ever since the Mandalorian Civil War." Qui-Gon replied.

"Master Yoda, are you looking for us?" The middle-aged man walked into the room and bowed deeply to Master Yoda standing by the window.

"The Force Has fluctuated, I feel it." Master Yoda said.

The middle-aged man was stunned for a moment, and his eyes sharpened immediately, "Could it be that the power of the dark side has appeared again?"

"The power of the dark side, this is not. There is chaos, all I can see." Master Yoda closed his eyes, feeling the force.

"A Force chaos? Where is it? Why did this happen?" The middle-aged man frowned.

"It's impossible to know." Yoda shock his head, "Getting stronger and stronger, the disturbance is, you see what it is you will. Go to the Moddell Sector, Master Qui-Gon Jinn."

The middle-aged man asked again: "Master Yoda what are we looking for?"

"I don't know. Let the Force guide you, lead you to your destination. May the Force be with you." Master Yoda sighed softly and stopped talking.

"May the Force be with you Master." Qui-Gon Jinn bowed deeply again, turned to his apprentice and said: "Let's go, Obi-Wan Kenobi. We are heading for the Moddell Sector."

"Yes, master." The young man nodded and answered.

...

Master Dooku returned to his residence, turned on the communicator, and the miniature projector projected the figure of a man in his 40s, wearing senate robes, and somewhat bald.

Dooku nodded slightly and said: "Thank you very much for your help this time, Senator Palpatine."

Senator Palpatine smiled and said: "This is what I should do, Master Dooku. I am also very glad that is such a decadent age, I can still meet you, a Jedi who dares to break the traditions and is full of justice. Master Warrior."

"But it's not what I want." Dooku shook his head and said, "This matter shouldn't have been resolved like this."

"This environment we are in such that it will not change because of the efforts of one or two of us. So, we should be thankful that this matter can be resolved. Other more serious things, such as the Bitthævrians declaring war on the Republic." Palpatine said.

Dooku thought deeply, " I agree with you very much, Mr. Senator, this is not a problem that one or two of us can solve, we need more comrades."

Palpatine nodded with satisfaction, "This is exactly what I want to express. But I believe that as long as we stick to our original intentions, the opportunity for change will eventually come."

"I hope this day will come sooner." Dooku's tone became cold.

"Yes, it will come after all." Palpatine said meaningfully, "By the way, I recently heard that there may be some problems in the Moddell Sector."

"It's a barren area in the southwestern region of the outer ring, full of abnormal hyperspace traps, and as far as I know, there is a giant black hole. It is beyond the control of the Galactic Republic. Is the problem that occurs there important?" Dooku was a little strange.

"It's not important, it's just a little bit of concern. If you can help me and have someone, check it out, that would be the best." Palpatine said lightly.

"I'll send a few Jedi apprentices... well, forget it, I'll send some bounty hunters directly from my home planet Serenno." Dooku originally wanted to pass through the Jedi Order, but he immediately dismissed the idea.

"Thank you, Master Dooku." Palpatine showed that meaningful smile again, bowed slightly, and ended the communication.

"Why did you ask Dooku to deal with the force disturbance that recently appeared in the Moddell Sector?" An extremely low voice suddenly came from behind Palpatine.

"It's training a Cyberian war dog. Only by commanding it a lot will it gradually get used to your request... In the end, it's an order." Palpatine replied with a smile.

"You really only have this idea?" The voice asked again.

"Of course, my lord." Palpatine bowed slightly, hiding his expression well.

"Very well, since that's the case, the dispute over planet Malastare still lacks some heat, you, go light another fire." The voice in the darkness said.

"As you wish, my lord." Palpatine still kept an impeccable smile on his face and walked out of the office.
