Chapter 5: Chapter 5 :Better understanding of a devil’s power and Dimension X-103 (1)
Marco's POV
"Watch out!!!"
Despite the warning, Star still ended up falling to the ground.
"It seems you have quite a talent for skateboarding, Marco, and as for Star... she needs a lot of practice," Jackie said hesitantly, glancing at Star on the ground.
"A great talent isn't really useful without an excellent teacher," my words were met with a few light chuckles from Jackie.
"You always have just the right words to flatter," Jackie smiled even more brightly after Marco's compliment.
After dealing with Ludo and his minions, Star accompanied me to the park to receive skateboarding lessons from Jackie.
I must say I've underestimated my current physical abilities. Now I understand why Makima looks down on humans around her to the point of being unable to differentiate their appearance.
For her, the difference between animals and humans is just null.
It took me only a few instructions from Jackie to understand the skateboarding basics.
Anyone would be happy to have such learning abilities, but I'm a bit worried.
Is my original human nature being affected by my new race? Will I ever see the world like Makima? Would I risk feeling the same loneliness that haunted her?
Without realizing it, I was lost in my thoughts.
"Dang it, I'm done, I'll just stick to my cloud!" Fortunately for my mental health, Star's voice interrupted my reflection.
"You should avoid relying too much on magic, Star. One day you might be unable to use it in a delicate situation." It would be better if she got rid of this bad habit of using magic at the slightest difficulty.
Star simply stuck out her tongue at me and ignored my words.
Seems like this won't be an easy task, huh.
"Forget my words, sports make you hungry. How about we go eat at Britta's Tacos?" Fortunately, the idea was well-received.
…
"I think Star is asleep now."
I silently left my house, dimensional scissors in hand and a bag full of books and provisions.
I wanted to train to improve my understanding of my real abilities, but I needed an ideal place for that.
I tore through space and landed somewhere I could intensify people's fear of me without worrying about the impact it might have on my life.
Of course, I didn't choose this place randomly.
Since a few minutes on Earth represent decades in dimension X-103.
Knock knock. I headed towards the gloomy house in front of me, my bag on my shoulder.
"Come in..." A calm voice allowed me to enter shortly after.
"Hello, are you Hekapoo?"
I already knew who she was, but I still had to act like an ignorant.
"Indeed, it's me," she said indifferently before turning towards me.
Without realizing it, my brain disconnected a bit.
The first thing I thought when I came to my senses was: "Damn, Marco, are you a monk?"
I understand he was already in love with Star, but Hekapoo is just... "sexy". She had a type of mature beauty that would interest anyone.

Of course, Hekapoo noticed I was looking at her a bit too long.
"Hmm~ Young people these days don't know how to hide their intentions," she said with a teasing smile, glancing at my crotch, which had literally betrayed me the moment I met her.
At these words, I simply coughed to dispel the embarrassing atmosphere between us.
"If you would, can we get to the point?" I tried to make my voice as confident as possible, quickly changing the subject by showing the dimensional scissors.
"I see. You obtained my scissors illegally," she said, slightly narrowing her eyes at me.
"Yes, and I would like to obtain the right to use them from their creator," I explained, specifying the reason for my visit to this inhospitable dimension.
"Interesting~," Hekapoo responded, approaching dangerously close to me, our faces literally face to face.
"It's been a while since someone came to earn the right to use my scissors and... I admit that your boldness pleases me."
While I was captivated by her eye not hidden by her hair, the scissors suddenly disappeared from my hands.
"Of course, I appreciate your boldness, but you still have to pass the test," she added as several Hekapoo clones appeared before me.
Thanks to my surprisingly sharp sense of smell, I could tell they all had the same scent.
"You must find which one is the real one and extinguish the flame above her head. Only then will you become the legitimate owner of these scissors," Hekapoo explained before rushing into several portals accompanied by her clones.
But before one of them left, I managed to catch her.
"Aren't you going to extinguish my flame~?" she asked in a suggestive tone.
"No. It would be boring to have an adventure alone, so I think I'll keep you," I replied.
My words seemed to catch her by surprise, as her usual confident expression changed momentarily to astonishment.
"You're really bold. What makes you think I won't run away while you sleep?" she asked, visibly interested in my response.
"I don't think you're the type to be a bad sport. After all, you've already lost, unlike the other clones, right?"
The Hekapoo clone seemed to think for a moment before nodding.
"Okay, I'll accompany you in your search for my counterparts, but don't count on me to help you."
That was more than enough for me.
Staying alone in nature without company for decades would be a real hell.
It's a shame that at the time, I didn't guess the true identity of the "clone" in front of me.
…
"You're doing well. I was sure you'd rush to look for the others." The Hekapoo clone seemed satisfied that I was taking my time in this quest.
"I really have a lot of time to find your sisters, so no need to hurry," I said, setting up traps around the makeshift tent I'd made using the survival guide I'd brought.
"My sisters?? Oh, you mean the clones," she said.
I nodded to confirm her deduction.
"Now that everything's in place, I can rest." I lit a fire and opened a pack of marshmallows to roast.
"What's this thing?" Given her curious look, it seems they don't have marshmallows on Mewni.
After a moment of hesitation, she tried one.
"Wow, if you had something like this, we could've just made a deal, you know? Hehe," she said in good spirits.
"Nah, it wouldn't have been as interesting." I couldn't train or spread fear throughout a dimension, but I kept my real objective to myself.
"Tell me sincerely, Mewman, why are you so relaxed during this test?"
It seemed she could no longer suppress her curiosity.
"I just trust my instinct," I said, pointing to my nose.
"And my name is Marco Diaz." I had forgotten that I hadn't introduced myself yet.
"Your instinct? So you're not human or Mewman, but some kind of monster?"
I shook my head to refute her words.
"I'm... a devil and a human."
I intended to tell Star about this sooner or later. It would be stupid to keep my powers secret in such a chaotic multiverse.
Of course, I'm entirely a devil, but I prefer to comfort myself by still considering myself a bit human through my worldview.
"A devil? Like some inhabitants of The Underworld?"
I nodded. Of course, The Underworld of Mewni is different from the one in Chainsaw Man.
"You must be a hybrid, like Tom Lucitor," the Hekapoo clone murmured, taking a more attentive look at my appearance.
We discussed little things until I fell asleep in my tent.
…
"Yes... it's warm," I mumbled half-asleep. I remembered the night had been freezing after the campfire went out.
I instinctively touched what was warm and soft around my head before slowly opening my eyes, fighting sleep.
"I knew you were a little devil, but you're a bit too forward for your age~" A mischievous smile slowly spread across the Hekapoo clone's face.
Is this the famous ecchi scene from the isekai protagonists?
