The week went by extremely fast.
We were called to the academy two days after the incident, but the classes were mostly theoretical, so I brazenly brought my laptop, which I modernised myself, and worked in classes not related to heroic topics. Naturally the teachers tried to say something there, but after I easily answered questions not only on the topic they were explaining, but also a few dozen questions on more complex topics, they recognised my right to work, provided I didn't disturb the class.
What did I do during this time?
I designed myself a glider. Creating one with nanites is a bit problematic, though. I plan to solve this problem by adding a wide belt full of nanites to my everyday clothing. This will free up nanite resources for various devices, not just the glider. But first, we'll have to get the blueprints to Mei so she can make a test model so it can be tested.
- Izuku, may I see you?
Sure...
I smiled at our invisible girl who came up to me during recess.
- You... offered an examination....
I nodded my head.
- Yeah. Did you decide?
- Yeah... I thought about it, and I consulted with my parents, and they said that if there was a chance that you could help me get the quirk under control, I should take that chance.
- Wise decision.
I nodded.
- Are you free after school today?
- Yeah. So soon?
- What's the holdup?
I shrugged my shoulders at the girl's reaction. She obviously didn't expect me to start helping her today.
- Well, yeah. I'm free.
- That's good. Then after class, Tsuyu and I will wait for you and go to our house together.
- Yes! Thank you!
The day flew by with work and watching Toru. The girl got excited and it was obvious, but she wore her uniform in class and you could tell by her body position and some other things.
And with each class she was getting more and more excited.
However, Tsuyu was able to distract her and on the way home, the girls chatted about distracting topics.
- So...
I looked at Toru interrupting her chatting with Tsuyu when we got to our house.
- Toru, what do you prefer... to eat first and do the examination afterwards or vice versa?
- Oblivisection first.... Brrrrr.
I grinned
- Kitchen, then.
I could feel that she was blushing and lowered her head, staring at the floor. We ate in silence, and after dinner we went down to the basement, where I put a lot of sensors on the invisible man.
I frowned.
I read the data and checked it over and over again, still frowning. And it's been going on for a couple of hours.
- You can't help me, can you?
Toru interrupted my silence with her extremely sad voice.
- Let's put it this way...
I scratched my cheek.
- So far, I don't see any way to help you control your quirk. Your quirk is exactly invisibility, not light refraction as I thought. If it was the latter, then I could try to teach you how to use your quirk, but invisibility....
I sighed.
- I can't even see exactly how the cells in your body exercise this ability. Is that how they do it?
I shake my head.
- Nothing...
Toru's voice was sad, but she tried to support me.
- ...I'm already used to it and I can....
- But, I have a way out.
- А?
- Can you wait a few more hours?
- Yes...
- That's good.
I turned to the computer and entered the new data for the nanobot printer. While creating one simple programme.
After about an hour, the programme was ready.
- Okay, now you're going to feel a little tickle.
- А?
A couple of seconds and the bewildered exclamation turned into light chuckles that didn't stop for a couple of minutes.
- Phew... what was that?
- The nanorobots were gathering more information about your build.
- А?
- Wait a little longer...
After ten minutes, the printer beeped, notifying me of the end of the creation of a given device, and I immediately snapped the seemingly ordinary feminine watch on Toru's handle.
- Huh? What's that? Why? Tsuyu's going to curse! It looks expensive, I can't accept it....
- Quiet...
I'm covering the girl's mouth with my palm.
- ...look at the result first.
I press the button on the side of the watch and a wave immediately passes through Toru's body, making the girl visible. Well, it may seem that way at first, second, or even tenth glance.
- А?
She blinked and noticed the mirror I held up so she could look at herself.
- Is that me?
- Yes, it is.
- You're sure it's me?
- You can't be sure.
- Whee!
The mirror was snatched from my hands and began to look at myself with great interest, stretching my school uniform and even looking under my skirt. I watched with a smile.
- Thank you!
Toru now pounced on me and enclosed me in a not-so-solid hug. However, I did not hesitate and lifted her up and spun her around, causing her to squeak contentedly. It was at that moment that Tsuyu entered the basement.
- What are you doing here?
Her voice was quite displeased, and she was even frowning her eyebrows! She's playing! She's playing!
- Ouch!
Toru got scared and literally slipped out of my embrace.
- Tsuyu, it's not what you think!
- Isn't it?
- Yes!
- So this isn't a simple thank you for Izuku being able to come up with something and quickly put his idea into action, but an attempt to seduce my boyfriend?
- No! I mean yes! I mean no!
- So yes or no?
- No!
- No?
- Yes!
- Tsuyu, stop terrorising Tora.
- Tz... she's reacting so funny.
- А?
Toru was extremely surprised.
- Don't worry, I'm not jealous... but you've clearly now dropped down on the report card of applicants to join our harem if we ever decide to do it.
- А?
- Tsuyu, you broke it...
- Well...
She shrugged.
- ...You could kiss her. In some fairy tales, a kiss from a prince and the evil spell of sleep, like a coma, is lifted.
Tsuyu pointed her finger at me defiantly.
- No!
Toru was in a panic.
- A princess kiss?
Tsuyu pointed her finger at herself.
- No!
Toru furiously shook her head.
- Okay, okay... that's enough.
- But...
Tsuyu looked at me and there was resentment in her gaze.
- For starters, Toru, this isn't something incredible... well, more accurately incredible, but not that incredible.
I sighed.
- I can't deal with your quirk, but I can give you this...''
Pointing to the watch she's wearing on her arm.
- It's a mini version of this bracelet.
I'm showing her my bracelet.
- But it has minimal functions. To be completely accurate, there's only one. To create a microscopic layer that completely replicates your body and is textured like smooth human skin or hair. In this way, I've effectively dressed you in a suit, a tight-fitting suit that fits your body tightly, yet you won't feel any discomfort.
- But...
Interrupting Tora with a gesture.
- Don't forget to switch off your device before you change into your hero clothes. The watch isn't very fragile, but it's best not to wear it while working as a hero.
She nodded dazedly.
- You can soak them in water, they won't get ruined, but when you're showering or lying in the bathtub, it's best to switch off the nanite cover. Since if you don't, you'll be washing the nanites and not yourself. No, you'll still get water on your body... but it's like washing with your clothes on. Is that clear so far?
- Yes, but...
- What?
- It's very expensive.
I nodded.
- It's expensive, but I can afford to give it as a gift with a possible future.
- Future-proof?
- Yeah... You see, I can see that being a hero isn't a good fit for you.
- А?
- Your quirk.
I'm shaking my head.
- ...it's a bit out of character. If you joined the army and became a spy, then yes, if you eventually learn to use your invisibility to refract light, then maybe yes, but not now.
The girl's posture showed she didn't like what she heard.
- But for all that, you want to help people. And if you still can't develop the skills you need, as well as tighten up your martial arts, then I'll give you the opportunity to do so.
- You will?
- Yes. I haven't decided yet, but I may be starting my own agency, or joining one I like, and I'll need a coordinator. A person who will have access to my security system, based on the satellites already in place. and direct me and Tsuyu to where we'll be needed most.
- That's me?
Toru was confused.
- Yeah, I'm also considering Momo, but she's more of a martial artist after all, her quirk is a bit more suited for that sort of activity than yours.
- Yeah...
Toru pouted offensively
- Toru, don't take offence, but work hard. I pointed out the minimum you should master to successfully become a hero... so work towards that.
- But how?
I sighed
- Toru, in Yuei, teachers are there all the time and NEVER refuse help. You can go up to the same Sterka or any other hero and ask to be trained in close combat. You can use polygons...
- I... Thank you...
The girl bowed low to me.
- You're welcome... let's go grab a bite to eat and I'll walk you home....
