Chapter 324: Chapter 324: The Sun-Moon Empire Comes to an End

Chapter 324: The Sun-Moon Empire Comes to an End

The Sun-Moon Empire, having rampaged across the entire Douluo Continent, had become extremely arrogant. Jing Hongchen was also inflated with pride. He believed that the Sun-Moon Empire's military was invincible, so he lumped together all old and new grudges to declare war on the Holy Spirit Cult, pursuing the evil soul masters all over the continent.

In a twist of fate, Jing Hongchen somehow stumbled upon the Holy Spirit Cult's stronghold and, with a large group of soul conductors, forced the cult into a battle in the Evil Demon Forest.

The Demon Eye Tyrant, bored of watching the drama, cleared all the spirit beasts from the vicinity with a group of Demon Eye Tyrants, then sat deep in the Evil Demon Forest, enjoying the show. Given their psychic nature, they didn't really care; as long as it wasn't Du Qianjue involved, the more humans fought, the happier they were.

As for the Holy Spirit Cult. They were incredibly wronged! Forget about the nonsensical accusations of stealing from the Sun-Moon Empire's armory; due to the shock of Du Qianjue's ascension, they had been strictly ordered by Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui to keep out of trouble, staying quietly in the Evil Demon Forest.

You say we raided your armories and sold weapons across the continent?

Especially Zhongli Wu, who Jing Hongchen accused directly, looked utterly bewildered and aggrieved. Zhongli Wu, a level 98 super Douluo, couldn't stand this injustice, not to mention he was a capricious and temperamental leader of the evil soul masters!

The war was brutal. It lasted nearly two years.

Initially, the Holy Spirit Cult clashed directly with the Sun-Moon Empire's Protectors of the Nation. Still, they quickly realized why the Sun-Moon Empire had managed to suppress the three great empires of Douluo in just three years.

The evil soul masters had bizarre methods and were virtually invincible against equal-level soul masters. But bizarre methods need to be executable. In the face of soul conductor gunfire, no matter how cunning the evil soul masters were, they still had to "drink the foot-washing water" of the soul conductor army, getting utterly confused and losing nearly half their number on the spot.

After that, they wised up, abandoning even the headquarters in the Evil Demon Forest, perfectly embodying the phrase "scattered like stars across the sky."

These beings really knew how to wreak havoc, splitting into countless small teams, striking across the continent, running when they met resistance, and stirring up trouble when it was safe, driving Jing Hongchen crazy.

This is why fighting one Holy Spirit Cult was almost more difficult than fighting an entire empire. An empire is rooted in place and must fight head-on to avoid destruction, but evil soul masters were different; they truly excelled at causing chaos.

Except for the Main Body Sect and the Main Body City, which were undisturbed, even the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect's Nine Treasures City suffered several surprise attacks by evil soul masters.

The entire Douluo Continent was in chaos.

Eventually, the top brass of the Sun-Moon Empire, along with Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui, could no longer sit still and initiated a final battle at the ruins of Shrek City. Not only the people from the Sun-Moon Empire and the Holy Spirit Cult showed up, but almost all the surviving powerhouses on the continent attended.

Leading the forces were Du Buhui from the Main Body Sect, Di Tian from the Star Dou Forest, the Demon Eye Empress from the Evil Demon Forest, the Ice Scorpion King from the northern lands, and many other sect powers from Douluo Continent.

Everyone knew this was humanity's last war; after this, the human race of Douluo Continent would be utterly unified. Previously, Di Tian would never have sat by and watched humans unite; discord among humans was better for spirit beasts as it gave them more room to live. Once humans united, they could focus on dealing with spirit beasts, which Di Tian could not tolerate.

But now? Who cared how they fought; in a few years, he could take all the spirit beasts to a new home beyond Douluo Star. What difference would their battles make? Just don't provoke the tiger for now.

Di Tian couldn't be bothered with human conflicts anymore.

Under the watchful eyes of many powerhouses, the final battle between the Sun-Moon Empire and the Holy Spirit Cult began. This battle completely devastated the already ruined Shrek City into a massive crater that might become a real lake in the future.

The outcome was as follows: The Holy Spirit Cult was eradicated, and the Sun-Moon Empire was severely weakened. Kong Deming fell, Jing Hongchen fell, Ye Yulin fell, Long Xiaoyao fell, Ye Xishui fell, Zhongli Wu fell. The high-level soul conductors of the Sun-Moon Empire and the strong evil soul masters of the Holy Spirit Cult were nearly wiped out.

Facing two limit Douluos, even Kong Deming, who had advanced to a level 10 soul conductor, was beaten badly. In the end, he detonated his life-linked soul conductor, the Silver Moon God Light Shield, trapping all the evil soul masters together.

The Silver Moon God Light Shield, a genuine space system level 10 soul conductor made from his second martial soul, exploded with terrifying force. With additional power from many level 9 soul conductors led by Jing Hongchen, all the evil soul masters were trapped.

Then... Kong Deming unleashed thirty level 9 fixed soul conductor bombs, covering a range of effects.

Even Long Xiaoyao and Ye Xishui were stunned, along with bystanders like Du Busi and Di Tian, who quickly tore open space to escape. From hundreds of kilometers away, Du Busi and Di Tian saw a red mushroom cloud rise on the horizon. That day, everyone within the range of the Silver Moon God Light Shield, unable to escape, saw Kong Deming's final act...

This war ended unexpectedly, with the Holy Spirit Cult's strength surprising Kong Deming. But driven by irreconcilable hatred, he chose mutual destruction.

Thus, the war came to a complete close. The upper echelons of the four empires were decimated, with only a few surviving titled Douluos or level 9 soul conductors who had not participated in the war.

The Sun-Moon Empire had barely unified the Douluo Continent for two years before it declared its own demise.

The Sun-Moon Empire was invincible only briefly before coming to an end...

One can only say that the timeline altered by Du Qianjue developed in truly unexpected ways. (End of chapter)
