Son, Put Your Father To The Test (FF)

Chapter 140: Chapter 140: A Flaw Exposed!

"Let me!"

These three words left everyone stunned. The woman in white suddenly trembled and looked at Su Xuanlong in disbelief.

"You… you want to hit me?"

Her voice was soft, filled with confusion and sorrow.

"I…"

Su Xuanlong's heart was a whirlwind of emotion. This was his daughter, someone he loved deeply and felt immense guilt toward.

Yet now, this so-called "Martial Uncle" was speaking righteously, justifying his actions with sect rules, raising the issue to the level of sect discipline.

As the sect master, how could Su Xuanlong ignore the rules for personal reasons? His daughter had to be punished—there was no escaping it.

Since this was inevitable, who better to deliver the punishment than him?

He couldn't explain why, but some stubborn part of him had decided that if his daughter was to be hit, it had to be by his hand. His heart would surely bleed, but still, he made his choice.

Taking a deep breath, he avoided his daughter's questioning gaze and spoke in a deep voice,

"Disrespecting elders and disregarding authority—such behavior deserves punishment!"

"Slap!"

He delivered a hard slap to his daughter's face, the sharp sound echoing through the hall.

"You…"

The woman in white turned her head, clutching her now reddened cheek with her right hand. Tears welled up in her eyes as she glared at her father before turning and running out of the hall.

This time, Qin Zi didn't stop her.

Su Xuanlong, on the other hand, stared at his hand, the one that had just struck his daughter. It trembled slightly.

"Sigh, Xuanlong, don't blame Martial Uncle for being harsh. I know this pains you deeply, but understand, I didn't want this either. However…"

Qin Zi sighed, his voice heavy with meaning.

"However… as the disciple of Yu Huang, as a Martial Uncle of Dongsheng Divine Sect, I have responsibilities. Standing in this position, I must act for the good of the sect, correct?"

Boom!

Hearing this, Su Xuanlong's body trembled almost imperceptibly, and his left fist clenched tightly.

Yu Huang's disciple!

He had struck his daughter for the first time in his life, all because of the so-called "disciple of Yu Huang," because of Yu Huang's greed!

Yu Huang, pursuing his own desires, had forced his daughter to suffer this humiliation and caused him this unbearable guilt!

Although calling Yu Huang's actions "reckless" might seem disrespectful, at this moment, driven by rage and guilt, that's exactly what Su Xuanlong felt.

Yu Huang might be the sect's revered ancestor, but Su Xuanlong had his own life—he wasn't living just to serve the ancestor!

"Calm down, Sect Master!"

"Don't think about it anymore!"

"You're about to lose control!"

The elders around him noticed Su Xuanlong's twisted expression and erratic aura. Alarmed, they urged him to calm down.

Boom!

Suddenly, Su Xuanlong snapped back to his senses, a wave of fear washing over him. He had nearly been consumed by his emotions and fallen into madness.

Though he had regained control, the thoughts he'd experienced in that brief moment had already taken root in his heart, like a seed buried deep within.

"Xuanlong, what are you thinking? Could it be that you're unhappy with me, or worse… dissatisfied with Yu Huang?"

Qin Zi's voice was full of feigned surprise.

"Xuanlong… I wouldn't dare!"

Su Xuanlong lowered his head, gritting his teeth as he spoke.

He was now on the edge of an outburst, but he had to endure it. He couldn't afford to ruin Yu Huang's plans.

If Yu Huang became enraged, Su Xuanlong could lose everything!

Two years ago, he might not have feared such consequences, but now he was terrified. He had people he needed to protect.

His daughter, cold and distant, wasn't well-liked within the sect. She relied on him alone. If he fell, who would protect her?

"Hahaha, Xuanlong, you take me too seriously. I was just joking."

Qin Zi suddenly laughed, feeling very pleased with himself.

Old man Yu Huang, you tried to trap me with an open scheme? Well, I'll retaliate by sowing discord!

He glanced at his father, hoping for a look of approval, but Qin Chuan remained expressionless.

Qin Zi sighed.

It seemed that he still had much to learn when it came to causing trouble...

Boom!

Just then, a loud rumbling sound filled the hall, accompanied by flashes of light, like lightning in a stormy night.

"What's going on?"

Qin Zi turned to the others.

"Well… it's probably two juniors fighting in the sect. They scheduled a duel for today."

An elder answered hesitantly, after exchanging uncertain glances with the others.

Qin Zi's eyes lit up.

An opportunity!

With a smile, he said,

"Let's go take a look! I'm curious to see the strength of the younger generation in the sect."

"Um… maybe we shouldn't?"

Su Xuanlong forced a smile.

Another elder chimed in,

"Yes, these juniors may be promising, but they are no match for Martial Uncle. After all, among all the talents in the Eastern Domain, only Martial Uncle was chosen as Yu Huang's disciple."

"Exactly. While these young ones have potential, compared to Martial Uncle, they're insignificant. Perhaps there's no need to watch."

They were afraid Qin Zi would stir up more trouble.

Though shameless, they had to admit Qin Zi's talent and strength were beyond question—he was truly remarkable.

Dongsheng Divine Sect had many exceptional young talents, but few could even hope to challenge Qin Zi.

"That's not how we should think!"

Qin Zi said earnestly.

"Though I hold the title of Martial Uncle, I am still young, close in age to these juniors."

"As the saying goes, 'Among three people, there must be something to learn from.' Everyone has strengths worth learning from, and we shouldn't dismiss others. We must be willing to learn from them."

"So, let's go observe. If their techniques are lacking, as elders of the sect, it is our duty to guide them. That's the true responsibility of seniors."

The others were left speechless.

They had no arguments left.

And so, the group flew toward the battle site.

From the towering peak, they looked down at the surrounding mountains, which stood tall and dense, like a vast forest of bamboo shoots.

Atop one of the peaks was a flat plaza, carved from the mountain, with a large battle stage.

Two figures—a man and a woman—were fighting fiercely above the stage. The man was full of energy, while the woman stood poised and graceful.

"Raging Waves!"

The woman launched a powerful strike, her energy transforming into countless waves that surged toward the man.

"One Finger to the Abyss!"

The man shouted, gathering golden energy at his index finger, and thrust forward, sending a beam of light through the air.

Boom!

With a muffled explosion, the beam pierced through the waves, shattering them like glass.

Boom!

The shockwave spread, scattering shimmering water everywhere.

"Ugh…"

The woman let out a soft grunt as the shockwave hit her, sending her body tumbling backward. Her dress billowed in the wind, revealing a brief glimpse of her figure.

"There's a tear in her clothes!"

Some of the disciples watching below widened their eyes in astonishment, and one of them even blurted out.

"Ahem! He meant there's a flaw in her technique!"

"Yes, yes! A flaw in her technique!"

Others quickly corrected the outburst, though their eyes remained fixed on the unexpected sight.

"Limitless Buddha Palm!"

At that moment, the man leapt into the air, a golden Buddha image appearing behind him as he struck out with his palm.

Boom!

The massive palm, like a mountain, descended upon the woman. Despite her attempts to defend herself, she was overwhelmed. Blood spurted from her mouth as she plummeted to the ground.

"Sister Liu Xi, you've lost. According to our agreement, the final spot to comprehend the Ancestor's Stele now belongs to me!"

The man stood triumphantly in the air, looking down at her with pride.
