Chapter 141: Chapter 135- Warning
"Haru..." The moment Jinah felt the blond's man aura, she held Haru's hand anxiously and stepped back a little.
Chapter Hae-In's complexion wasn't good as well, however, she only narrowed her gaze and her hand instinctively went to her waist, where her blade mostly hangs.
The two ladies had such a vivid reaction because the Ruler was using his aura—unlike the last time when he came to meet Haru and Jin-Woo.
"Don't be afraid. This pigeon won't bite." Haru assured his girl as he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her closer. Jinah appreciated the gesture but the way Haru regarded the blond man, made her a little nervous.
Jin-Woo also held Hae-In's hand, which she raised earlier.
The way he glanced in Hae-In's direction, was enough for her to heaven a sigh of relief.
The Ruler didn't have a smile nor a frown on his face, despite the clear scowl Haru currently wore.
"I can see that the Absolute One is rather displeased with my presence."
Haru raised his brows hearing his new alias, but didn't comment on it. Rather, he chose to ask something concerning at the moment,
"Why this protective aura? You know it won't stop me from tearing you apart right?" Haru could sense how the Ruler had wrapped his Aura around his body as a protective shield.
Any hunter apart from Jin-Woo and Haru wouldn't be able to breach this barrier unless they were prepared to exhaust all their mana reserves. And that would only be possible if several S-ranks tried at once.
However, just as Haru said, it would take just a flick of his fingers, and the Ruler would be bathed in his own blood.
"I am certain, but to not scare off your companions I need to wear my aura." After taking a pause, the Ruler extended his left hand and uncoated it—only to reveal a silvery armor-clad arm extended toward the group.
"It's an instinctual reaction toward the presence of the Absolute One."
Hearing the Ruler's words, Jin-Woo added, "I can understand what he is saying."
Everyone turned to look at the Monarch, as he continued, "It's instinct. Can't help."
Haru sighed. Seriously, he was hiding almost all his strength and locked his most powers in another dimension...what can he do now?
"Regardless, why are you here?"
Haru decided to end this farce and get on the point. He was quite eager to just disappear with Jinah now. After spending all the day with his family, he wants to have some alone time with his girlfriend.
The Ruler looked hesitant, whether to say this here, as he asked, "If the Absolute One and the Shadow Monarch allows, then we can move to a more private space-"
"It won't be necessary. We don't intend to hide anything from them, so just speak without hesitation. "
Jin-Woo assured the Ruler. And he meant what he said. Neither Jinah was unaware of what Jin-Woo and Haru had become nor Hae-In was. Although Cha Hae-In doesn't know everything about Haru, she knows of their contact with the heaven's residents.
The hesitation disappeared as the Ruler finally opened up, "Thanks to Shadow Monarch's active assistance in the battle against the other Monarchs, the earthlings haven't incurred much. And now that the Absolute Being has awakened it wouldn't be much of a threat when the Monarch of Destruction returns."
"Monarch of Destruction?" Jinah asked, with a tilt of her head.
Haru took the role of explaining it to her, "He is one of the nine monarchs. The strongest one with a massive army of large dragons."
Cha Hae-In gasped, as she asked, "Like the Kamish?"
Humanity's greatest calamity, Kamish, was the boss of the S-rank gate which the humans faced in the past. Several S-rank hunters died in that confrontation and the four that came out alive were regarded as the National Ranked Hunters.
It was a legend that every hunter knows about.
Haru chuckled at that, however, he wasn't making fun of her. Rather, he was feeling funny because the chaos humanity had seen was nothing but a droplet of the river.
"That Kamish was one of the dragons from the Monarch's army. The Monarch of Destruction: Antares have many of them in possession."
The Ruler informed, much to Jinah and Cha Hae-In's shock.
"You guys have to fight the boss of those dragons?!" Jinah raised her tone with concern evident in her voice.
"Not me. Just Sunbae."
Hearing his words Cha Hae-In turned her widened eyes in his direction.
Haru sighed, and told her, "I would be there as a backup but Sunbae wants to handle the Monarch on his own. Ask him the reason. "
Haru raised his hands since he couldn't tell more than this. The story of Rulers and Monarchs shouldn't be shared so casually so he decided to leave it to his Senior.
Jin-Woo nodded suggestively to Cha Hae-In, and the latter decided to not pry about it for now.
Turning his focus back to the Ruler, Haru declared, "Although I would keep my hands off the Monarch, don't expect the same mercy against your brethren."
Haru's eyes turned cold yet he retained his smile. His aura fluctuated just for a moment, and it was enough to make the Ruler sweat.
With his voice turning condensed, Haru spoke some words of warning, "Remember, those who conspired against me, and those who would try to protect them...I will skin them without a second thought. "
The Ruler nodded hastily as a strong gulp passed through his throat.
Cha Hae-In was taken aback by the rare sight and so was Jin-Woo.
The only one who was looking at Haru lovingly, with a tinge of admiration was the girl beside him.
Jinah couldn't help sighing upon witnessing the icy hot version of her lover. She just adores him too much.
"Now...what is the real purpose behind your sudden visit?" Haru eased his aura and asked the blond man.
To just extend his gratitude, this Ruler wouldn't have come here.
And true to Haru's expectations, he wouldn't have descended and dared appear before Haru unless it wasn't something important.
Loosening his tie a little, the Ruler seemed a little hesitant but in the end, there was no point delaying the inevitable.
"The Absolute One, I know you wouldn't like what I am about to say...but for the benefit of this realm, I have to convey a warning. "
Fixing his gaze on Haru, the Ruler finally revealed the reason for his visit,
"Once the war ends, and we pull away the blessing of Mana from this world, your presence might deteriorate this realm."
