Chapter 33: Capítulo 33: Reconnections
The weeks that followed that night with Moon were a whirlwind of emotions for Jack. He felt like a man sailing uncharted waters, exploring new and exciting territory. The intense training at Cobra Kai, the desire for Moon, the discovery of intimacy... it was all a new experience for him, who until then had lived on the fringes of what he considered a normal life.
Every day, Jack felt stronger, more confident, more alive. But at the same time, the shadow of the past loomed large, reminding him of the need to confront Johnny Lawrence and unravel the mystery of his paternity. Time seemed to speed up, pushing him toward an inevitable confrontation, but he still hesitated, seeking the courage to face the truth.
Meanwhile, Moon, reflecting on her conversation with Sam and the weight of the fight at the mall, felt a pang of guilt. Their friendship, once so strong, had fallen apart amid misunderstandings and rivalries. But now, with a lighter heart and a clearer mind, Moon felt it was time to reconnect, to reach out and try to rekindle the flame of friendship that once united them. Summer was coming to an end, and with it, the vacations and the freedom they had to meet each other. Soon, classes would start again, and the hectic routine of school, training and competitions would once again take up their days. Moon wanted to make the most of the time they had left to rebuild their friendship and create new memories together.
She picked up her phone and typed a message to Sam, hesitant at first but determined to move forward: "Sam, I know things have been weird between us, but I miss our friendship. Can we talk? I wish I could have you back in my life."
Sam, surprised by the message, felt a pang of joy. She also missed Moon, that light and fun friendship they had shared. The last few weeks had been difficult, with the confusion of her feelings for Jack and the guilt of hurting Moon mixing with her own internal conflicts.
"Sure, Moon! I miss you too. Can we meet tomorrow? How about at the mall, after school?", Sam replied, excited about the possibility of rekindling their friendship.
Moon smiled as he read the reply. "Yes! I'll meet you at the food court! See you tomorrow!"
The next day, Sam and Moon met at the mall, just like old times. They talked for hours, catching up, reminiscing about fun times, and apologizing for past hurts. Moon's vibrant and optimistic personality quickly rubbed off on Sam, and the laughter began to echo between them again.
"I'm sorry for everything that happened, Moon," Sam said sincerely. "I was an idiot."
"It's okay, Sam," Moon replied, hugging her friend. "I made a mistake too. The important thing is that we are together again."
Their friendship was reborn, strong and true as before. They knew they could count on each other, no matter what happened.
Meanwhile, Jack dedicated himself to training at Cobra Kai with even greater intensity. The need to be strong motivated him with every blow, every defense. Every day, he got closer to his goal: to confront Johnny Lawrence.
However, the revelation was not yet imminent. Jack felt he needed to strengthen himself even more, both physically and emotionally, before facing the truth. He dedicated himself to training diligently, seeking to perfect his skills and channel the anxiety that consumed him.
At the dojo, Jack was not only a dedicated student, but also a mentor to the younger ones. He encouraged them, corrected their movements, shared his experiences, and inspired them with his strength and determination.
"Focus on your balance!" he said, as he watched a group of beginners practicing their basics. "Karate is not just about brute strength, it's about control, precision and discipline."
"Don't give up!" he encouraged a student who was struggling to perfect a stroke. "Persistence is the key to success. Keep trying, and you will succeed."
Johnny, watching Jack interact with the other students, was amazed at the boy's maturity and leadership. He saw qualities in Jack that he himself did not possess, and wondered how this young man had become so strong and confident. The shadow of the past loomed over them, and Johnny, tormented by his own mistakes and regrets, wondered if he was ready to face what fate had in store for him.
some time later
Moon, excited about her reconciliation with Sam, told Jack about her plans for the party. "It's going to be amazing!" she would say, her eyes shining. "Summer is ending and school starts soon, so let's get everyone, Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do together and show that we can get along before things get any more tense!"
Jack smiled, infected by Moon's enthusiasm. He knew the party would be a challenge, but also an opportunity to strengthen ties between the dojos and perhaps calm rivalries.
