Chapter 38: Chapter 36
Marshall returned in the living room, a set of bedding in his hand. He came up behind her, his footsteps soft on the carpet. He leaned over and laid the sheets on the sofa, his body just inches away from hers. His breath was warm on her neck, and she had to fight off a shiver of something she didn't quite recognize.
__Marshall: "Here it is," he said softly, his voice a low rumble in her ear.
She could feel the heat radiating off his body, the scent of his cologne filling her senses. She swallowed hard, fighting the urge to turn around and look at him, to see his face so close to hers. Instead, she focused on the sheets, the soft fabric of the blankets, the way they looked so inviting on the sofa.
His touch was almost reverent, his fingers gliding through her hair like a whisper. He bent down, his breath hot on her skin, and he kissed the back of her neck, just a soft brush of his lips. It sent tingles down her spine and her entire body stiffened, a quiet gasp escaping her lips.
It was a tender gesture, and it caught her off guard. She'd never felt so vulnerable, so exposed, and yet so safe at the same time. Without realizing it, she leaned back into him, her body molding to his, as if it belonged there.
__Marshall: "You've been through so much," he said gently, his voice a low and soothing whisper. "You've had to fight and struggle just to survive, and that's not fair."
He paused for a moment, his fingers tracing gentle circles on her skin.
__Marshall: "But your suffering is over now. You're safe now. You can relax. You can rest."
Her eyes fluttered closed at his words, her body going limp in his embrace. She let out a soft sigh, letting her guard down for the first time in what felt like forever. She felt his arms wrap around her, enveloping her in his warmth, and it was like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
__Marshall: "Everything will be alright," he murmured, his voice still a low and gentle whisper. "I promise. No one will hurt you ever again. I won't let them."
His words were like a balm to her soul, soothing the fear and doubt that had taken hold of her. She believed him, for reasons she couldn't explain. She knew he was strong and ruthless, that he wouldn't hesitate to protect her if it came to it. And she found herself feeling safer than she ever had before.
__Marshall: "Just sleep now," he said softly, his hands still rubbing her arms, still holding her close. "You're tired. You need to rest. I'll be here."
She didn't have the energy to argue. She was exhausted, emotionally and physically, and his strong, steady presence was like a drug, making her feel heavy and sleepy.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, she felt something coarse and rough wrapping around her throat, cutting off her air and making her gasp in surprise. She tried to cry out, to struggle, but the cord was too tight and she couldn't move. She clawed at it desperately, her fingers scrabbling against her skin, trying to loosen its hold. But it was no use. The cord was too tight and her vision was starting to go dim.
She could feel her head starting to spin, her vision blurring around the edges. She was trapped, immobile, at the mercy of whoever held the other end of the cord. She had a fleeting thought that this was it, this was how it would end, but she couldn't accept it. She wouldn't
The world around her seemed to fade to black as she felt her consciousness slipping away. She was on the brink of passing out when she heard a voice, barely a whisper, but it was enough to jolt her back to consciousness
__Marshall:"Everything will be alright from now on. You won't suffer anymore."
The room began to spin, her vision going dark at the edges. She strained to keep her eyes open, to hold onto consciousness, but it was a losing battle. Her body falling limp as the darkness consumed her. The world around her grew dim and hazy, the edges of her vision fading into darkness.
Before she let go, she felt his lips pressed against her neck. And then there was nothing. Just the sound of the crackling fire, and the silence of the night. The last thing she saw was the firelight flickering on the walls.
Her body fell on the sofa lifeless. Another victim in his list. He wasn't feeling any remorse killing her. In fact she was the perfect victim. She got no family here, no identity. So nobody will search her.
He doesn't process that way normally. He killed his victims while he's watching them right in their eyes and he would use knifes to make them bleed and scream...such a good vision and melody to his eyes and ears.
But as she already had seen enough in her life, he didn't want to hurt her more. That's why he used that method.
He sat next to her admiring his art. All the kindness seems to fade away. There's no more need to fake his personality. Does anyone really think he would help her for free and out of the blue? He's Slim Shady, the hell he cares about people's problems. They could suffer it die it won't mean anything for him. He doesn't have any pity in him.
In fact he's the one who make others suffer. He doesn't feel any feeling for any being. The only time people make him happy or make him smile is when he got their blood in his hand. Emily was the only one who dare to steal his heart and he seems he can't do anything about it no matter how hard he tried.
He looked at the cold corps, his gaze were cold, a sadistic smiled appeared on his lips.
__Marshall: "You should thank me you know. I did you a big favor by killing you and also by not hurting you. He could've been worse."
He rubbed her cold lips.
__Marshall: "You were very attractive alive...but you're way more attractive dead. I want to be inside your lifeless corps. I really want."
He run his fingers on her body, his hand stop on her chest.
__"Marshall: "But I can't. I've already cheat on my girl and I don't want to do it again."
He went to the fridge but he doesn't have beer anymore. So he decided to go to the closet store to buy one. The night will be very long. He had to make sure the body will disappear by tomorrow.
