Slam dunk, hit 100% of the three-pointers at the beginning!

Chapter 61: Miyagi and Ryu’s Perfect Coordination!

The game resumed!

On the court, Miuradai's players squinted at Ryu and the Shohoku starters, smirking with mockery.

"So, this is the so-called super rookie everyone's talking about?"

"We're up by 30 points! Not even Kainan's Amaki could turn this game around!"

"Miuradai isn't some pushover like Shohoku!"

"Hahaha!"

Hearing the taunts, Shohoku's players kept calm, their faces unreadable as they stared down Miuradai.

Ryu, however, let out a cold chuckle.

"Basketball isn't won with words. It's won with skill."

Though spoken softly, his words reached Miuradai's captain, Murasa Kengo, who gave Ryu an amused glance.

"Well, aren't you cocky," Murasa said with a smirk. "We'll see how long that confidence lasts."

Shohoku had possession.

Standing at the sideline, Akagi passed the ball to Miyagi, who started to advance.

Confident in their large lead, Miuradai's defense was lax, showing little effort to guard closely.

Miuradai's #5, Araki Kazuo, was tasked with defending Miyagi. Looking down at the much shorter player, he couldn't resist a sneer.

"Still just a little guy, huh? I thought swapping players would bring in someone better."

Miyagi showed no reaction, calmly dribbling forward.

"Come on, little guy, try getting past me!"

To mock him further, Araki deliberately left his right side open, inviting Miyagi to drive.

The spectators began murmuring.

"Isn't Miuradai being way too arrogant?"

"They're acting like they've already won."

Lowering his stance, Miyagi made a quick move, blowing past Araki in a single step. Araki froze, his face a mix of shock and disbelief.

"Damn, how is he so fast?!"

As he turned to give chase, Miyagi glanced over his shoulder.

"Talk less. Focus more," Miyagi said coolly, leaving Araki behind.

Infuriated, Araki could only watch as Miyagi sped further ahead.

Reaching the paint, Miyagi flicked the ball to Ryu, who was waiting beyond the three-point line.

"Nice pass!" Ryu called out.

He caught the ball, flashed a quick smile at his defender, and immediately rose for a jump shot—no fakes, no hesitation.

Miuradai's Miyamoto Harunobu lunged to block him, his face contorting in anger.

"Don't look down on me, rookie!"

Miyamoto leaped, extending his arm to its fullest. But before he could reach the ball, Ryu had already released it.

The ball sailed in a flawless arc through the air.

Swish!

Nothing but net.

Ryu landed, turning toward Miyamoto with a faint smirk.

"Is this all you've got? Pretty disappointing," he said calmly.

Then, facing Akagi and the others, Ryu shouted loud enough for everyone to hear:

"Guys, against a team like Miuradai, we should aim to win by at least 100 points!"

Akagi grinned and roared in response.

"Shohoku, victory!"

Shohoku's morale soared, and the energy in the arena grew electric.

"That first-year sure knows how to talk big," one spectator murmured.

"But Shohoku's got some serious momentum now!"

"Miuradai isn't weak, though. Things are getting interesting."

In the stands, Koshino furrowed his brow, recalling how Ryu's deadly three-point shooting had helped Shohoku erase Ryonan's lead during their practice match.

"Shooting like that… it's ridiculously accurate," Koshino muttered. "If this keeps up, Shohoku's morale will skyrocket."

Uozumi, hearing Akagi's rallying cry, smiled knowingly.

"If Miuradai doesn't step up soon, Shohoku's going to close the gap fast. Ryu's shooting is just too dangerous."

Meanwhile, Sendoh turned to Amaki, who was watching quietly nearby.

"Winning by 100 points? Ryu's really bold," Sendoh chuckled. "I wonder what Amaki thinks of that."

Amaki didn't respond, his attention fixed on the court. Though unimpressed by the boast, he was curious.

"Win by at least 100 points? Let's see if Shohoku's No. 10 has the skill to back that up," Amaki thought.

Araki held the ball, his expression calm as he dribbled forward. Holding up one finger, he signaled to his teammates.

"Stay composed. Let's score on this play. Shohoku's loss is inevitable," he said confidently.

Before he could finish his sentence, a voice cut through.

"Watch out!"

Murasa's warning came too late.

In a blur, Miyagi appeared beside Araki.

Smack!

With a perfectly timed swipe, Miyagi stole the ball and immediately turned upcourt.

"Ryu!" Miyagi shouted, throwing a pinpoint pass across the court.

Ryu caught the ball in stride, rising effortlessly for another three-point shot.

Swish!

Another perfect basket.

The crowd erupted.

"Shohoku's teamwork is incredible!"

"That No. 7 is playing really well too."

"And No. 10—his threes are just unreal! He looks so confident every time he shoots."

In the stands, Hikoichi's eyes were glued to Miyagi. Flipping through his notebook, he froze as a realization hit him.

"That's Miyagi Ryota! The Electric Flash Miyagi Ryota! I can't believe he's back!"

Hearing this, Uozumi and the others shifted their focus to Miyagi, their expressions grim.

"This changes things," Uozumi muttered.

Miuradai's coach leapt to his feet, furious.

"We've given up 6 points in just a minute! Get it together! Shut down that first-year rookie!"

"If we lose to Shohoku, you'll all regret it!"

On the court, Araki scowled, glaring at both Miyagi and Ryu.

"These two… they're nothing but trouble," he muttered. "Just wait. I'll stop them."
