Chapter 162: The Traitors.
A spike shot out from the ground and pierced into a monster's chest, killing it as the monster's blood soaked the spike around it.
Felix walked over and shook his head, expecting it to give him skill points.
'It was just a Rank 1 monster, huh. I guess I've to go a bit deeper....', he had already killed a few of the wandering monsters who were by themselves, all of whom turned out to be at only Rank 1.
Taking a glance at the map, he stepped forward, wondering where the higher-ranked monsters were.
'By the way, how many skill points have I got now? System? Show me my current skill points.', he suddenly asked.
[Affirmative.]
[Skill points: 6010.]
"Ohhh...", he became elated at the thousands of skill points, thinking whether he should create any skill now or leave them for later.
'I can now easily kill Rank 2's, even a Rank 3 can be killed as long as I plan a little ahead.', Felix pondered on it. 'I have a few Earth attribute skills that I created for fighting better, but mostly they were kind of forced because I was pretending to be an Earth Mage in front of others...'
Casually strolling in the dungeon tunnels while keeping track of the directions with the Map, Felix gave some thought to what to do with his skill points.
It was not until he saw a bunch of red dots appear on the map that he decided to think about it later.
"Here we go... Finally some action."
Felix grinned and sped through the tunnels without wasting any time, moving his way towards the spot where the red dots would come to cross paths and meet him.
After a few minutes, he stood in the tunnel with his sword out in a laid-back manner, when a group of monsters appeared from the dark end of the tunnel.
'Hmm those are some new monsters, but I've read about them in a book....'
The monsters in front of him were bipedal and had long limbs with blade-like protrusions on their arms, resembling natural scimitars.
They were lean and muscular with wolf-like heads, had dark grey fur and a thin yet long tail behind them with an average height of 6 feet.
'They must be the Bladefiends, somewhat similar to the werewolves back from Earth's fictions, but with inbuilt blades on their arms.', Felix remembered what he had read about the Bladefiends from the book.
'They're naturally aggressive monsters, usually found in caves who move around in packs. Their combat specialities are agility and ambush attacks using their nimble figures.', Felix smiled as he gripped his sword tighter.
'Well, they're the perfect monsters for me to hone my sword skills. I could also maybe create a skill related to swords later....'
By now, the Bladefiends had noticed the lone human standing before them, which made their beastly instincts activate for battle.
"AAWWHOOOOO!!!"
The Bladefiends let out high-pitched howls that echoed in the tunnel, their eyes turning reddish as they dashed towards Felix.
"Now that's the spirit!"
A crazy look emerged on his face as Felix kicked off the ground and rushed ahead to face the monsters.
"Battlefield Awareness!"
"Agility Burst!"
"Black Horizon Sword Arts: Striking Blades!"
With the combination of these three skills and technique, Felix launched a non-stop assault on the Bladefiends, dancing his way through their midst and blocking and attacking them back.
Most of them at the frontline were Rank 1's, whom Felix didn't give much of his attention as instead he dived deeper into their pack to find the higher ranked Bladefiends.
After dealing with the majority of them, he saw a few Bladefiends that were 7 feet tall, who had red strips of fur on them and had much longer and sharper blades on their arms.
'There they are! The Rank 2 Bladefiends!"
Without further ado, as he was eager to hear the system's chimes, Felix thrashed away the nearby monsters and leapt off their bodies to reach the Rank 2 Bladefiends.
"Fuck yeaahhhh!!!!"
Another massacre took place that night, with bodies of Bladefiends falling one after the other as the red eyed and silver-haired predator unleashed his skills to kill every single monster on his path.
It certainly was an incredible night for Felix, who racked up countless skill points, but for some others, it was anything but that.

In a different part of the Edenmont Dungeon, a group of cloaked figures moved silently through the shadowed tunnels, their steps sneaky and quiet as the darkness swallowed them whole.
"Are you sure we're going the right way?", one of the cloaked figures asked the person leading the group with a hint of worry in their voice.
"How the hell would I know, man? Seriously... Why don't you try leading us?" the other person replied, his voice thick with sarcasm but also laced with helplessness.
"Ah, shit... We shouldn't have done this, guys... What's gonna happen if we get caught?!" a different voice muttered, softer and tinged with worry, revealing it was a cloaked woman.
"Sigh... There's no point regretting it now, Jenna. We cannot go back. They must have gotten to know of our disappearance by now.", the first man smiled wryly as his words made the others gulp.
"But... but..." Jenna bit her lip, her voice trembling with fear. "Can't we... I don't know... just say we were out gathering materials or something?"
The man leading them paused as he shook his head, a determined gaze growing in his eyes.
"Warren's right, Jenna. We can't back down now. No excuses will be enough to convince the leaders of the Six Guilds Alliance. Not after they agreed to the deals of the Dark guilds willingly..."
A somber atmosphere surrounded the group as they treaded onwards with their heads low, feeling a bit conflicted because of their guild's connection with the dark guilds.
The man named Warren, who had tan skin and curly brown hair, shook his head to stop thinking of useless things as he asked.
"Then, Sir Nicole, what do you suggest we do now? Should we find a quiet spot in the dungeon and hide there until the guild war is over?"
The man leading the group, Nicole, a Rank 3 ex-member of the Crimson Dawn, contemplated for some time before he replied.
"That's not a bad idea..... But then what happens next? Wouldn't we be hunted down by our guilds after we get out of the dungeon or we may even die facing the monsters here by ourselves..."
There was a dark expression on Nicole's face as the grave situation of their group meant they had a low chance of surviving.
"How... How about joining those two guilds?", Warren suddenly suggested, making everyone in the group pause in their spots.
Feeling a bit nervous by the stares he was getting from everyone, Warren coughed once before he added.
"I mean, we don't have a way to get back with our guilds now that we've betrayed them, not that any of us wants to do that anyway. So wouldn't joining their enemies, the two guilds, make more sense now?"
He shrugged off with a wry smile as Nicole stared hard at him.
"The enemies of our enemies are our friends...umm... Isn't it something like that?"
The people around him glanced at each other, neither agreeing nor rejecting as they pondered for a moment.
"I get what you're trying to say, Warren.", Nicole sighed as he asked a question.
"But let me ask you this. Do you think the two guilds are strong enough to win against the Six Guilds Alliance?"
Warren shook his head without wasting a second as he rubbed his forehead.
"They're not.... Sigh... Then what the hell should we do?!", he asked back in exhaustion as everyone nodded.
"Well they wouldn't be able to face the Six Guilds before, but..."Nicole gave a small smile as he continued with his eyes narrowed.
"With our information on the internal structure and the members of the six guilds, including the current location of their base..... I think there may be a chance of something different happening."
Everyone had their eyes lit up at his words.
Yes, they were all members of the six guilds, each carrying crucial and highly sensitive information vital to their factions.
In any war, knowledge, luck, and power were the three key factors that determined victory, and the intelligence they possessed could tip the scales in an instant.
"So, is that it? We're joining the two guilds then?!", Warren exclaimed in surprise.
"B...But... Are you sure they'll take us in?", Jenna asked in doubt.
"Didn't you hear what Sir Nicole said?!", Warren raised his hands in excitement. "We have important information that may give the two guilds a chance to win the guild wars. So of course they'll let us join them!"
Nicole shook his head with a wry smile seeing Warren's overly delighted face like he wasn't betraying his old guild.
"It isn't as easy as you think, Warren. We have to be convincing enough and present them a good deal for us to join them. Or else they'll think we're just spies wanting to infiltrate their side."
"What?! But we're not spies though... Didn't we just betray our guilds and become traitors?!", Warren asked as he widened his eyes in shock, making others slam their palm on their foreheads.
"That's not what the leaders of the two guilds will think.", Nicole patiently answered as he didn't want any misunderstandings in their midst. "Anyways. Later, I'll be the one doing all the talking with them...."
Nicole turned to face forward and frowned as he gazed at the dark tunnels before them.
"But to do that, we'll need to find them before the six guilds alliance comes to find us."
