Chapter 31: Chapter 31: The Small Snake's Revenge
Worker's room.
Butler Lao Zhang, under the light of an elegant old desk lamp, was applying medicine to his bruised knee.
It was quite late, and the maids had all gone to their rooms for the night, leaving the entire villa in a state of silence.
He should have rested after treating his wound, but he had a long-standing habit.
Before going to bed every night, he would take a walk around the villa, inside and outside, to make sure everything was in order before returning to his room to sleep.
Even today, despite his injury, it was no exception.
Although Mr. Su had told him to rest early, he couldn't fall asleep without his routine. The Su family had been through a lot lately, so being cautious was more reassuring.
After finishing with the medicine, Lao Zhang tidied up his things, opened the door, and walked out.
The living room was clean and neat.
The courtyard was fresh and tranquil.
"The weeds over there haven't been cleared properly, and the flowers on this side need pruning..."
Old Zhang was muttering to himself as he walked and suddenly heard a strange clanging sound in the courtyard.
"What's that noise?"
Old Zhang immediately became alert and turned his flashlight in that direction.
That's where the temporary pens for the rooster and the cat were set up today.
Could it be that the two lucky charms were uncomfortable?
Old Zhang quickly walked over and couldn't help but be surprised.
Clang, clang, clang!
The black cat and the rooster in the cage were moving back and forth, flapping and colliding. The black cat was also making sharp, harsh cries, appearing very agitated.
"Hungry?"
But when Old Zhang looked into the cage, he saw that the food and water were full.
"What's going on?"
The Su family had never kept these small animals before, and for a moment, Old Zhang was at a loss.
The rooster and the black cat were clearly in an abnormal state, especially the black cat, which seemed to be staring and meowing in a particular direction upstairs, its cries becoming more and more shrill.
The sound was bone-chilling.
Old Zhang looked up toward the third floor, where a dark shadow seemed to flash by the window.
His heart skipped a beat, but when he looked again, there was nothing at the window.
"Did I see it wrong?"
Old Zhang rubbed his eyes and looked several times. All the windows on the upper floors were pitch black, like closed eyes, concealing their secrets within.
Old Zhang turned back to look at the two restless "lucky charms." Still uneasy, he decided to go upstairs and check it out.
Walking into the living room, he went up step by step along the solid wood staircase.
The wall lamps cast a dim yellow light, but the entire third floor was pitch black.
Old Zhang's unease grew stronger.
The old master did not sleep well and disliked a completely dark environment, often leaving a night light on even while sleeping.
Why had all the lights been turned off today?
"Master, are you asleep?"
Old Zhang stood at the door and called out softly twice, but there was no response from inside the suite; it was so quiet that it made him panic.
"Master..."
Old Zhang reached out to knock, only to find that the door wasn't locked, just slightly ajar.
"Master?" Old Zhang carefully pushed the door open and went inside.
The rest area was normal, but there were intermittent sobs coming from the direction of the bedroom.
"Master, what's wrong, are you not feeling well?"
Old Zhang hurried over and turned on the light, only to be terrified by the scene in the room.
Su Liguo was lying on the bed, his legs struggling, his neck being tightly choked by someone, emitting painful whimpers.
"Master!"
Old Zhang rushed forward in a panic, but was pushed away with a single blow by the person.
That person had an incredibly strong force; Old Zhang was flung out, his head and back slamming heavily against the wall, rendering him unable to stand up due to the pain.
The person turned around and glared at Old Zhang fiercely.
"Young Master!" Old Zhang felt dizzy and disoriented.
The one choking Su Liguo's neck was none other than Su Mingxuan. At this moment, his eyes had turned into an eerie green slit pupil, his face twisted like a monster.
Su Mingxuan tightly clamped Su Liguo's neck, with veins popping on the back of his hand, clearly using deadly force!
Su Liguo's face was turning dark purple, his eyes rolling upwards, barely able to hang on.
"Young Master, stop..."
Old Zhang wanted to intervene, but his body felt weak, and the back of his head was warm. He felt dizzy, and his vision was getting blurrier.
At this moment, the phone that had fallen beside him started ringing, and the screen displayed the number of the villa's security guard.
"Security, call security..."
A glimmer of hope rose in Old Zhang's heart. Using all his strength, he moved his fingers, trembling as he pressed the answer button.
"Mr. Zhang, sorry to disturb you so late. There's a person named Lu Fei at the gate who says he has an urgent matter to see Chairman Su..."
"Quick, someone, help..." Old Zhang shouted feebly.
"Mr. Zhang, what did you say?"
"Help, help..."
"Old Mr. Zhang? Mr. Zhang!"
The sound of Old Mr. Zhang was no longer coming from the phone.
At the main entrance of Longteng Valley.
"Oh no, something must have happened!" Lu Fei's face changed drastically, and he urgently said to the security guard: "Brother, you must let me through, it's a matter of life and death!"
The security guard also faintly heard Old Mr. Zhang calling for help, and quickly brought out a golf cart from the side.
"I'll take you there!"
The two rushed to Villa 9 and climbed over the wall to get in.
A shrill alarm went off.
Two sleeping nannies were awakened and ran out of the staff room in panic.
Lu Fei didn't have time to explain and rushed straight to the third floor.
"Stop!"
Bursting into the bedroom, he immediately saw Su Mingxuan in the act of committing a crime.
Su Mingxuan turned his head, baring his teeth at him viciously.
He saw a long, slender black shadow coiled around Su Mingxuan's back, like a venomous snake.
It was over a meter long.
A small snake!
"There really is another one!"
Lu Fei was greatly alarmed; if he had been careless, a grave mistake would have been made.
He bit his middle finger, smearing the blood on the dog-tooth dagger, and then charged forward.
"Evil creature! Stop harming people!"
The small snake instantly sprang up from Su Mingxuan's back and opened its mouth to bite Lu Fei.
Lu Fei scattered a handful of incense ash at it.
The incense ash drifted, blinding the snake's eyes and slowing it down.
Seizing this opportunity, Lu Fei thrust his dog-tooth dagger at its vital spot.
But the cunning little snake twisted away, avoiding the dagger, and darted under the bed like a flash of lightning.
Lu Fei couldn't afford to look for it; if he didn't pry Su Mingxuan's hand open soon, Su Liguuo's neck would be broken.
However, the person possessed by evil was extremely strong. Lu Fei could not handle it alone, so he shouted at the dumbfounded security guard at the door.
"What are you standing there for? Help me!"
The security guard finally reacted and came forward to assist.
The security guards at Longteng Stream Valley are carefully selected, and they are top-notch in both strength and skills.
Working together, the two finally managed to pry open Su Mingxuan's hand.
Su Liguo finally got a chance to catch his breath, and after a moment of delay, he began coughing violently.
"Hold him down!"
Lu Fei had the security guards control Su Mingxuan while he pulled back the bedsheet and looked under the bed.
On the spotless floor, a small black snake flashed by and darted towards the window.
"Trying to escape? No way!"
Only Lu Fei could see this strange snake spirit.
The security guard was straining to control the monster-like Su Mingxuan, his face full of horror.
The snake was extremely fast, and with a large bed between them, Lu Fei couldn't catch up. In desperation, he gathered all his strength and threw the dog-tooth dagger in his hand with great force.
Ding!
Lu Fei threw it too high, the dog's tooth hit the glass and made a sharp sound as it fell downward.
Lu Fei felt regretful, but in the next moment, he saw the falling dog's tooth land precisely on the small snake that had just jumped up.
