Chapter 580 579: The Past and Eye of Immortality
580 579: The Past and Eye of Immortality
Corey never expected to experience a sudden and massive breakthrough with his Tri-Pupil Eyes by observing the spatial crack. It was so sudden, so unexpected, and completely out of his expectations for his Tri-Pupils to suddenly gain a second golden triangle which meant a massive breakthrough in his Tri-Pupil Eyes, and a step closer to the completion of his Tri-Pupil Eyes.
When he saw the space crack, his instincts and senses did not feel like he would benefit greatly by observing, recording, and studying the spatial crack, but who was he to complain?
Although Corey was surprised by this, he also knew why his observation of the spatial crack had given him so many benefits. The first thing was that in the virtual reality room of the Perceptual Nexus of Repository, hundreds of clones were constantly practicing with a skill of his.
Even if he didn't actively practice these skills, his proficiency with each of his skills and abilities was passively increasing, although the increase was minute, it was there.
During the three days that he, Divine, and Melissa had been waiting for a message from Prince Zeran, one of the things he decided to actively focus and study on was his Tri-Pupil Eyes.
Studying his Tri-Pupil Eyes was not easy because the main ability of the eyes was related to space and time, however, the Tri-Pupil Eyes also had three other abilities which were not considered to be the main abilities.
To have a breakthrough in his Tri-Pupil Eyes, he needed to increase his knowledge on space and time. At the moment, his knowledge on space and time could not be compared to his knowledge before he entered the Shattered DImension because unlike the libraries in the City of Sin, the libraries in the cities he had been to, especially Azgul Fortress contained books on space and time.
Corey was surprised by the fact that there were so many books on theories, experiments, and laws on space and time compared to the libraries of the City of Sin. Even the E-Underworld which was said to be a place where one could buy whatever information they wanted had only basic knowledge on space and time.
However, when he thought about, Corey guessed that the reason why the Underworld restricted information and knowledge on space and time was most likely to reduce the chances of somebody escaping the Underworld, however, Corey still felt like there was another reason why the Underworld restricted information on space and time.
Another reason why the books of the Shattered Dimension were special was because they were written in space and time runes, which meant he could feel the profoundness in the books.
The spatial crack was not a normal spatial crack, it also had time energy mixed into it, and when Corey observed the spatial crack with his Eyes of Omnisicence, everything his Stars of Consciousness had come up with regarding space and time in relation to his Tri-Pupil Eyes suddenly clicked.
His breakthrough in Tri-Pupil Eyes granted him two new abilities.
Having a single golden triangular pupil gave Corey the ability to switch places with objects, both living and non-living. The only requirement was that he had enough mental and spiritual energy to execute the skill.
He also had another ability which was more subtle and hidden, but had helped him quite a lot of times. This ability was called The Eye of Immortality. His eyes had the aura and energy of immortality in it.
What this meant was that no matter what happened to Corey, his eyes would always restore itself back to its original state.
This was the reason why he did not lose his eyes permanently when he gazed at the void with his Eyes of Omniscience.
After obtaining a second golden triangular pupil, he had the ability to see the past of an object, whether living or non-living. All he needed was the enough mental and spiritual energy to use the skill.
Also, Corey had a feeling, a very very very faint feeling that if he had enough mental and spiritual energy, and his proficiency with his Tri-Pupil Eyes improved drastically, he would be able to switch places with the past self of an object, whether living or non-living.
This basically meant that he would be able to go to the past by switching places with the past of an object, and the past of the object would take his place in the present, which would be its future.
The thought of such an ability was so frightening to Corey to the point that Corey could not help but wonder just how powerful the Supremes were if Paragons had such an ability.
What Corey did not know was that this ability was not a natural ability of the Paragons. It was a thought, a hypotheses, and an imagination which his main consciousness and stars of consciousness had come up with.
The second ability he gained was called the Eye of Illusion.
When Corey gained this ability, he was taken aback at first because he felt like he would not need the skill. He already had an illusion skill called Infinite Mirage, and the skill was an extremely powerful skill that had helped him a lot of times in the Shattered Dimension.
However, as he perused through the skill while moving through the spatial crack, he realized that the Eye of Illusion was not a normal illusion skill at all.
Unlike Infinite Mirage which depended on Corey's knowledge of his environment and his ability to perfectly recall every single detail of the illusion he wanted to show, what the Eye of Illusion did was that it showed an illusion of what the target wanted to see.
Corey still needed to be able to recall every single detail of the things that would be involved in the illusion, however, he did not have to manipulate the illusion like he usually did with the Infinite Mirage skill.
The Eye of Illusion was more immersive, and there was even a possibility of the illusion affecting the target. The target might even be killed by the illusion because unlike the Eye of Illusion which targeted the eyes of people, the Eyes of Illusion targeted the mind and spirit of people.
Corey knew that this skill was extremely dangerous and frightening, and once again, it made him wonder just how powerful the Supremes were, because the abilities he had been getting as a Demi-Paragon was beyond his imagination.
Although the Eye of Illusion was powerful, even with the vast amount of mental and spiritual energy his Cosmic Soul provided, and the amount of Astral Mana his Infinity Crystal provided, he could barely use this skill once.
Corey knew that if he used this skill at all, he would be drained and moving a finger would be difficult for him.
