Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Escaping the Holy Land and Contemplating the Future

Chapter 4: Escaping the Holy Land and Contemplating the Future

Using a large amount of flammable materials, Chu Yang caused a fire far greater than the one in the original plot. Now, all of Mary Geoise was engulfed in flames.

The situation had become so dire that the Celestial Dragons couldn't even spare attention to pursue Tiger. Even Admiral Aokiji(Kuzan), who had just arrived, immediately joined the firefighting efforts.

With slaves scattering everywhere, the Holy Land's military forces were overwhelmed.

On the top floor of Pangaea Castle, in a secluded courtyard, a solitary figure quietly observed the flames consuming the city.

As the true ruler of the Holy Land, Imu felt no shame. Instead, a playful smile appeared on her lips.

After acquiring the world's supreme power, she had seldom encountered anything as amusing as this in her long life.

Especially in the past century, life had become so dull that she had lost interest in everything.

Today… well, this was at least a bit of fun.

Like an indifferent bystander, Imu watched with interest as events unfolded. She cared little about how many slaves escaped or how many Berries were lost.

While Imu enjoyed the spectacle of the grand "bonfire," Chu Yang and Tiger had already fled the Holy Land, arriving at the edge of the Red Line.

Chu Yang hadn't expected the Fishman to keep following him. He had only helped because the Marines had blocked his escape route. Having no other choice, Chu Yang intervened.

That last attack had nearly exhausted all of Chu Yang's chakra. If not for the remarkable recovery ability granted by his Wood Release, he would have passed out long ago.

Along the way, Tiger kept glancing at Chu Yang. The powers Chu Yang had displayed made Tiger suspect that he was a Devil Fruit user. Though curious, Tiger wasn't foolish enough to pry further, as their relationship wasn't close enough to warrant such an exchange of secrets.

When they reached the cliff's edge, Chu Yang looked down at the steep, towering wall beneath them and the tumultuous waves crashing below. Instinctively, he swallowed.

He wasn't afraid of heights, but this kind of sheer drop would make anyone's legs weak.

"I remember there's an elevator ship..." Chu Yang glanced around, recalling that there were special ships used to transport people to and from the Red Line.

"There are usually many soldiers guarding the area around the elevator ship, but now most of them are busy putting out the fires in the city. If we can find it, we should be able to leave Mary Geoise smoothly."

Hearing that Chu Yang was looking for the elevator ship, Tiger immediately spoke up, "I know where it is!"

Chu Yang looked at him in surprise. Wasn't this Fish-man a recently escaped slave? How would he know?

Noticing Chu Yang's disbelief, Tiger explained, "When I climbed up from the bottom, I saw the elevator ship."

"Oh, I see..." Chu Yang nodded, then suddenly realized something. "Wait, you climbed up from where?"

Tiger pointed to the massive abyss beside them.

Now Chu Yang finally understood who this Fish-man was. There had only been one person in all these years who had climbed Mary Geoise with their bare hands—the hero who freed the slaves, Fisher Tiger.

After realizing Tiger's identity, Chu Yang couldn't help but give him another look, noticing for the first time how familiar he seemed, especially his bright red skin.

Being stared at so intently made Tiger uncomfortable, and he quickly said, "Brother, don't worry, I wouldn't lie to you."

"I know." Chu Yang, still curious, asked, "Did you also come to set the fire?"

Having already been misunderstood once, Tiger immediately denied it, feeling wronged. "I didn't start the fire. I just took the opportunity to free some of the slaves..."

Mid-sentence, Tiger paused, suddenly puzzled. "Wait, why did you say 'also'?"

Chu Yang's face changed as he quickly shifted the topic, "We don't have time to chat. If we stay here any longer, the Marines will catch up. Take me to the elevator ship, quickly."

"Oh, right, right." Tiger snapped back to reality and led Chu Yang along the cliff. After some time, they successfully found the entrance to the elevator ship.

Just as Chu Yang had anticipated, there were very few soldiers guarding the area—only four, standing idly. Tiger knocked them out one by one with a single punch each, leaving them with no chance to fight back.

Tiger couldn't help but marvel, "With such weak defenses here, other areas must be the same. I hope the innocent civilians can escape this hell and make it home safely."

He's really a great man with a heart for the world...

Chu Yang, who preferred to stay out of such matters, had genuine respect for Tiger. The sentiment was sincere, without a trace of sarcasm.

Under the cover of night, the two boarded the elevator ship and left the Red Line, returning to the embrace of the sea.

At the foot of Mary Geoise was a small town, where the elevator ship would dock. Those traveling to and from the Red Line often gathered in this town.

Since there were no guards around, Chu Yang and Tiger's arrival didn't alarm anyone. Walking through the quiet streets, Tiger suddenly asked, "Brother, are you planning to go home now?"

Home?

A transmigrator like Chu Yang didn't have a home.

With a bitter smile, Chu Yang replied, "My home's gone. I can't go back."

Tiger, assuming that Chu Yang's home had been destroyed by slavers, felt great sympathy for his situation. He then asked, "So, where do you plan to go next?"

Yeah, where do I go next?

Chu Yang fell into deep thought.

I need to find a place to learn some useful skills!

Whether it's Haki or physical combat techniques, Chu Yang needed to learn something soon. Otherwise, when he met his other clones again, it would just be another wasted opportunity.

Although freeloading was fun, freeloading off himself was pointless.

What should I learn?

In Chu Yang's view, the most valuable skill in the One Piece world was undoubtedly Haki. Haki was undeniably powerful and, to some extent, even more useful than a Devil Fruit.

Moreover, unlike Devil Fruits, Haki didn't have any obvious weaknesses.

But the problem was, where could he find someone to teach him Haki?

While many strong individuals in the New World knew Haki, with Chu Yang's current abilities—even with his Wood Release—he would likely just get himself killed if he went there.

Outside of the New World, the only place Chu Yang could think of was Amazon Lily, where Hancock resided.

However, with the kingdom's ban on men and without a protagonist's plot armor, Chu Yang would also die if he went there, at least for now.

Aside from Haki, the next most valuable skills would be swordsmanship and martial arts.

At this stage, the only place to learn top-tier swordsmanship was the Isshin Dojo in Shimotsuki Village, East Blue, where Zoro had trained. Becoming Zoro's senior would be an option.

But for Chu Yang to travel from the Grand Line to East Blue alone was unrealistic.

As for martial arts, Chu Yang wasn't particularly impressed, except for the Navy's Six Powers. In fact, he found the overall level of martial arts in the One Piece world inferior to that of the Naruto world.
