Chapter 25: A Chance Encounter
Chu Yang activated his Observation Haki and clearly heard someone cursing "Muggle." Following the direction of the voice, Chu Yang quickly found his target.
At that moment, a bespectacled boy hurriedly walked past Chu Yang. Like Chu Yang, he was pushing luggage, and there was an owl perched atop it.
The boy seemed bewildered, as though he didn't know where to go.
Seeing him, Chu Yang, almost instinctively, asked, "Are you also looking for Platform Nine and Three-Quarters?"
The bespectacled boy turned around abruptly, a look of surprise and relief flashing across his face. "You too?"
"Yeah! Follow me!" Chu Yang led the way, with the boy closely following behind.
"Are you a new student going to Hogwarts too?" The boy, seeing that Chu Yang was about his age, became more animated and smiled, "Hi, I'm Harry Potter. What's your name?"
"Harry... Potter?"
Chu Yang finally understood why he had felt compelled to speak to the boy. The youth in front of him, who seemed so oddly familiar, was none other than Harry Potter.
"My name's Chu Yang, but you can call me Yang." In English, "Yang" or similar characters could be pronounced as "Young."
"Yang!" Harry smiled and curiously asked, "Are you from the ancient Eastern countries? Does Hogwarts also admit students from there?"
"In terms of bloodline, I'm indeed from there," Chu Yang shrugged and said, "But I grew up in an orphanage in London!"
"Oh, I'm sorry." Harry felt like he had offended Chu Yang and quickly apologized.
Chu Yang casually waved his hand, unconcerned, and said, "It's fine. In fact, the orphanage isn't as bad as you might think. I made a lot of friends there, and the headmistress, Sister Anna, is very kind to children, as long as we don't cause trouble."
Sensing the sincerity in Chu Yang's words, Harry's expression softened with longing. "From what you've said, it sounds like a fun place."
Suddenly, Harry became a bit dejected. "Actually, I'm an orphan too, but I don't have any friends."
Perhaps because both of them were orphans, Harry naturally started confiding in Chu Yang about his experiences over the years.
Chu Yang patted his shoulder and encouraged him, "The moment you board the train to Hogwarts, it means you've left the past behind. Don't worry, you'll make plenty of new friends at school."
Harry immediately felt much better, and his excitement to reach Hogwarts grew.
"This is Platform Nine and Three-Quarters!" Chu Yang pointed to a wall in the middle of the platform and explained, "It's enchanted. We have to go through it."
"Go through it?" Harry's eyes widened in shock!
He watched as Chu Yang pushed his luggage and ran straight toward the wall.
Just as Harry was about to shout in panic...
He saw Chu Yang's figure merge into the wall and disappear without a trace.
"Chu Yang?" Harry called out softly but received no reply.
Taking a deep breath, he gritted his teeth and pushed his luggage, charging forward.
After a brief moment of darkness, Harry's surroundings changed. A brand-new platform appeared before him, with a sign above that read "Platform Nine and Three-Quarters."
"Hurry up, the train's about to leave!" Chu Yang's urging voice reached Harry's ears, making him shudder. He quickly pushed his luggage and followed after him.
Once on the train, Chu Yang and Harry found an empty compartment to sit in. Neither of them was short on money, so they bought everything when the snack trolley came by, clearing it out.
Chu Yang paid most of the cost but, to take care of Harry's pride, let him contribute a small portion.
The seats were piled high with snacks, and both Chu Yang and Harry began picking through them. Harry was simply curious, having never seen any of these magical treats before. To him, everything seemed to be filled with the mystery of magic. On the other hand, Chu Yang was just a foodie. Instead of being dazzled by the magical packaging, he was more interested in the flavors of the snacks inside.
As they chatted, the topic naturally shifted to family.
Upon learning that Chu Yang was also an orphan, Harry felt a certain closeness to him. He looked at Chu Yang with a bit of sympathy and concern, as if seeing a reflection of his own past.
But these sad emotions were quickly buried under their excitement for the future.
After a short time, a somewhat scruffy-looking boy appeared in the corridor outside. His clothes were a bit worn, and his face was dirty.
Harry handed the boy a packet of snacks and invited him to join them in the compartment.
Harry's kindness made the boy happy, and the awkwardness in his heart quickly disappeared.
As he ate the snacks Harry gave him, the boy introduced himself, "Hi, I'm Ron Weasley."
Harry smiled and said, "Hi, I'm Harry Potter!"
Ron's eyes widened in shock. "You're the famous Harry Potter?"
Harry scratched his head awkwardly. "If there isn't another Potter, I guess that's me?"
"Do you have it? I mean, the thing from the stories!" Ron pointed to his forehead, looking at Harry with anticipation.
Harry gave a shy smile, then lifted his bangs to reveal the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead.
"Cool!" Ron exclaimed excitedly.
Then, turning his attention to Chu Yang, he asked in surprise, "Dude, are you from the ancient Eastern countries?"
Chu Yang had already guessed Ron's identity, so he simply nodded as a greeting, while continuing to flip through his book, Practical Defensive Magic and its Use Against the Dark Arts.
This book was essentially an advanced version of The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection, usually read by upper-year students. It contained a lot of knowledge about dark creatures, which was exactly what Chu Yang needed.
When the time was right, Chu Yang definitely planned to take a walk in the Forbidden Forest.
As for the textbooks for younger students, Chu Yang had already memorized them and would occasionally review them.
Chu Yang was enjoying the pleasure of reading, but Ron wasn't happy. He had greeted Chu Yang with such enthusiasm, only for Chu Yang to simply nod in return.
Ron had no idea how familiar Chu Yang was with him—so familiar that Chu Yang unconsciously didn't feel the need to greet him.
To Ron, who didn't particularly like studying, Chu Yang's unusually fast page-turning didn't look like learning at all. In fact, it looked more like showing off...
Ron waved a snack in front of Chu Yang and laughed, "Hey! Dude, there's no professor here. You don't have to pretend. Relax for now. When we get to school, you can 'seriously' study, and then the headmaster and professors will know!"
Chu Yang instantly knew Ron had misunderstood.
Most people would actually misunderstand in this situation.
So Chu Yang merely smiled and said nothing, then continued reading his book.
