Chapter 179: Chapter 107: Annihilation of Three Sects, Target Zhang Sanfeng!
Chapter 107: Annihilation of Three Sects, Target Zhang Sanfeng!
The fierce battle between the Six Major Sects and the Ming Cult had involved no fewer than seven to eight thousand disciples. Yet, with a single roar from Chu Yang, they all collapsed into unconsciousness.
The assembled experts were both shocked and enraged.
Chu Yang coldly swept his gaze over them, his killing intent enveloping the crowd like a bitterly cold wind. Among the Six Major Sects' experts, the most skilled were none other than Master Kong Wen of the Shaolin Sect and Miejue Shitai of the Emei Sect.
Facing this overwhelming killing intent, even they felt an uncontrollable tremor of fear for their lives. Miejue Shitai clutched the Heaven-Reliant Sword tightly, struggling to summon her courage.
"Master Tai, this scholar is highly unusual. We must tread carefully," Master Kong Wen said as he slowly moved to stand beside her.
Miejue Shitai glanced at him and saw his trembling hand holding the Zen staff. Taking a deep breath, she replied, "Master, judging by his age, this scholar should not be one of the Ming Cult's envoys, Four Kings, or Five Wanderers."
"I hope he comes with good intentions," Master Kong Wen sighed as he stepped forward to face Chu Yang. Fixing his gaze, he asked, "The Ming Cult's wicked deeds have earned universal condemnation. Who are you, and why have you intervened in our conflict with the Ming Cult?"
Chu Yang did not respond. Instead, he silently walked toward the Ming Cult's main hall. Before entering, he left behind a single warning:
"Until I return, anyone who dares make a move will ensure that not a single one of the Six Major Sects leaves Bright Peak alive."
These words incited fury among the Six Sects' experts. Even Master Kong Wen, a monk, wore a dark expression.
Who dared utter such arrogant remarks before them?
"Brat! Such insolence! Today, your Uncle Tang will teach you a lesson in manners!"
Tang Wenliang of the Five Elders of Kongtong, known for his explosive temper, couldn't suppress his rage. He set his fists and charged toward Chu Yang like a storm.
Chu Yang raised his fingers as if holding a sword and slashed forward. Invisible energy surged, forming a blade that shot out at lightning speed.
Tang Wenliang couldn't react in time. In an instant, he felt the world spinning. When he looked closer, he saw his body still running forward while his headless neck spurted blood like a fountain.
As his consciousness faded, his last thoughts were four simple words:
"What? I'm dead?"
"Junior Brother!"
The remaining four Elders of Kongtong were grief-stricken but dared not approach. Such an eerie death was enough of a warning. Even the most foolish among them knew better than to act rashly.
As they watched Chu Yang enter the hall, no one, not even Miejue Shitai with her Heaven-Reliant Sword, dared to move. Her caution stemmed from the fact that all her disciples were incapacitated. Angering this mysterious figure could cost their lives.
The Shaolin and Wudang sects harbored similar concerns.
---
Inside the Ming Cult's main hall, the dim, flickering lights revealed a grim sight. The Ming Cult's upper echelon—Yang Xiao, the Green-Winged Bat King Wei Yixiao, and the Five Wanderers—lay scattered and severely injured.
It was no secret that internal strife plagued the Ming Cult. Even on the eve of battle, their leaders had engaged in conflict. Taking advantage of the chaos, Cheng Kun, hiding in a secret passage, ambushed them, leaving them gravely injured.
In the shadows, Cheng Kun prepared to strike again.
Although Yang Xiao and the others noticed him, they believed Chu Yang had not. Just as they were about to warn him, Chu Yang made his move.
Extending his hand, Chu Yang unleashed a terrifying suction force, pulling Cheng Kun toward him.
Universal Pull.
Caught off guard, Cheng Kun found himself immobilized. In the blink of an eye, Chu Yang had him by the throat.
"Sir… I am Yuan Zhen of the Shaolin Sect, not a villain. My master is the eminent monk Kongjian," Cheng Kun pleaded, hoping to leverage his affiliation for mercy.
But before he could finish, Chu Yang tightened his grip, shattering Cheng Kun's neck with a crisp snap. Tossing the lifeless body aside like garbage, Chu Yang paid him no further mind.
Seeing Cheng Kun dead, Yang Xiao and the others were overjoyed.
"Well done! That scoundrel deserved it! He killed our leader—it's divine justice!"
"Even if the Ming Cult perishes today, we can now face our leader in the afterlife!"
"Hahaha!"
Zhou Dian of the Five Wanderers laughed heartily, infecting the others with his mirth. Years of accumulated grievances within the Ming Cult seemed to dissolve in this moment of camaraderie.
"Have you finished?" Chu Yang asked coldly. "Now, where are Li Mochou and Xiaolongnu?"
Their expressions changed instantly.
With a heavy sigh, Yang Xiao explained, "I regret that my daughter's moment of compassion saved them, only for it to bring such trouble to our cult. I am ashamed."
"Though you've saved our lives, if you seek them, I cannot oblige," Yang Xiao continued, maintaining his composure even in desperation.
His response reassured Chu Yang. At least Li Mochou and Xiaolongnu were safe.
"Chu Yang thanks the Ming Cult for your kindness toward my friends," he said, bowing to Yang Xiao. Placing a hand on Yang Xiao's shoulder, Chu Yang channeled a warm current of energy into him, healing his injuries in moments.
Yang Xiao, astonished by his recovery, nodded. "Wait here. I'll have my daughter bring them out."
While waiting, Chu Yang healed Wei Yixiao and the Five Wanderers, further earning their gratitude.
---
Soon, the sound of chains dragging along the floor announced Yang Xiao's return. He was accompanied by several girls, including his daughter Yang Buhui and a shackled, disfigured Li Mochou, who clung protectively to Xiaolongnu.
Li Mochou's scarred face bore testament to her struggle. Despite her brashness and conflicts with Chu Yang, her actions to protect those dear to her—be it the elderly Granny Sun or the young Xiaolongnu—earned his admiration.
"Mr. Chu…" Li Mochou began, her voice breaking. Holding Xiaolongnu close, she sobbed uncontrollably.
"It's all my fault! I leaked the location of the Nine Yin Manual, causing Granny Sun's death!"
Overwhelmed by guilt, she collapsed into tears.
Chu Yang noticed Xiaolongnu's unusual silence and, upon closer inspection, found her voice had been damaged by poison.
"Who did this?" he asked, his eyes burning with fury.
"Many people," Li Mochou whispered.
Suppressing his anger, Chu Yang reassured her gently, "Don't worry. I can heal this.
Li Mochou froze for a moment, then began to cry again, her tears streaming like a fountain.
Wei Yixiao, uncertain whether the crying had made him irritable or if he was anxious about the battle outside, spoke loudly with a troubled expression:
"Young Hero Chu, please stay in the hall and catch up with your friends. This old bat will step outside to see how our brothers are faring. If I am fortunate enough to survive, I will surely repay today's kindness."
The others finally came to their senses, muttering similar words before striding out after Wei Yixiao.
Yang Xiao, glancing reluctantly at his daughter Yang Buhui, turned and bowed deeply to Chu Yang:
"Young Hero Chu, I have one more request. Please take my daughter Buhui away from Bright Peak."
Yang Buhui panicked and wailed tearfully:
"Father, what are you saying?!"
"The title 'Young Hero' doesn't sit well with me. I'm just a schoolteacher," Chu Yang shook his head.
"Deputy Chief Yang, I regret that I cannot help. I still have unresolved grievances with the Six Major Sects."
"Mochou, come with me. Revenge belongs to those who seek it."
Taking the young Xiaolongnu from Li Mochou's arms, Chu Yang held Li Mochou's hand and headed out.
"May I trouble the heroes of the Ming Cult to postpone your grievances until I settle matters with the Six Major Sects?"
"Young Hero Chu, the Six Major Sects outnumber you greatly. Facing them alone might end poorly. Let us Ming Cult members take the lead."
"No need."
Wei Yixiao and the others tried to dissuade him further, but Chu Yang's figure disappeared in a flash, swift and ghostlike.
Zhou Dian rubbed his eyes, exclaiming in shock:
"His lightness skill is even better than Wei Yixiao's!"
