Shocking! The Mysterious Sky Veil Brings Chaos! | Naruto

Chapter 4: The First Question – Who Saved Uzumaki Naruto?

"Was your past really like this, Naruto…?"

Sasuke stared at Naruto's past, laid bare in the sky veil. It was a life filled with sorrow, rejection, and unbearable loneliness.

Naruto didn't know who he was, why he existed, or what wrong he had done to deserve such treatment.

That pain was no less than Sasuke's own suffering.

"I was such a jerk back then," Sasuke muttered under his breath, his fists clenching.

Sakura watched in silence, biting her lip. Memories of her past behavior resurfaced—mocking Naruto, ridiculing him for not having parents. Now, she realized how cruel and thoughtless she had been.

The Five Great Nations remained silent. The truths revealed in the veil left them without excuses. As leaders, they had chosen their Jinchūriki long ago, and those choices had determined their fates: lives of sorrow, isolation, and rejection.

Protecting their villages had always come first, even at the cost of a child's happiness. The emotional burden of Jinchūriki was deemed necessary for the safety of the village.

"Damn it! I can't watch this anymore!" shouted a random viewer from a smaller nation. "What's wrong with you so-called Great Nations?"

"Wasn't the point of building hidden villages to protect the next generation? And now you're using kids to seal tailed beasts?"

"Are all the Kage just useless? You've forgotten the very reason these villages were created. All you care about is power and profit!"

The sky veil's broadcast sparked heated debates, with curses and accusations flying across the ninja world.

In the Hidden Leaf, the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, stared at the photo of Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage.

"Was I wrong?" he murmured.

Hiruzen had decided to hide Naruto's identity as the son of the Fourth Hokage to protect him from Minato's enemies. But the Nine-Tails' identity had spread far and wide.

Had he chosen differently—had he revealed Naruto's lineage—would Naruto's life have been less painful?

Hiruzen shook his head bitterly. He had been too indecisive. The secret of Naruto's heritage had been well-kept, but the truth about the Nine-Tails had become public knowledge.

What a cruel irony.

[The sky veil played more scenes.]

Naruto's voice echoed:

"No one acknowledges me…"

Gaara's cold, detached voice followed:

"I am hatred. I am power. I am the weapon of the Hidden Sand Village, a Jinchūriki meant to be sacrificed."

"I hate this world. I hate everyone in it!"

Naruto's voice returned, tinged with pain:

"I hated everyone too. I didn't know who I was or why people hated me. I didn't understand anything back then…"

"Why do I even exist? If I'm nothing more than something they wish would disappear, then I must exist to destroy them all. A monster!"

Gaara's voice echoed once more, filled with bitterness:

"I exist to fight and kill. That's all I'm meant for."

The ninja world watched in stunned silence. The Five Great Nations, in particular, were overwhelmed by the flood of insults and accusations being hurled at them.

"Naruto-kun…"

Hinata lay in a hospital bed in the Hyūga compound, her heart aching as she watched the scenes unfold.

She had always known something about Naruto's struggles. Whenever she walked through the village, she heard the villagers' hateful remarks about him.

Her own family had warned her to stay away from him, calling him dangerous.

"Living with that kind of pain… it must have been unbearable," she whispered, tears brimming in her eyes.

A memory surfaced—of a snowy day from her childhood.

Naruto, just a small boy, had told her:

"You have such a big family. So why are you crying? I don't have anyone, but I never cry!"

From that day, the name Naruto had etched itself into her heart.

[The veil suddenly lit up with bold text.]

System Question!

First Question: Who is Uzumaki Naruto's savior?

"Savior?"

The ninja world turned their eyes to the veil, their expressions a mix of curiosity and confusion.

"Who saved him?"

"That blond-haired kid? Finally, a question worth asking! But… who is his savior?"

"I have no idea. Do you?"

"How would I know? You think the Hidden Leaf knows?"

"We don't know either! And stop calling him a fox demon already…"

"Still with the insults? I swear, give me your address, and I'll send a team of ninja to deal with you!"

"What, are you nuts? You're saying this while the Hokage could be watching?!"

"So what? My name's Nobody. Let the Hokage come and find me if he dares!"

"You idiot! You just revealed your name. And you're dragging me into this? Thanks a lot, Nobody Junior!"

Even the Leaf's Twelve Young Shinobi were stunned by the question.

"Savior? Naruto's savior?"

They found it hard to imagine Naruto, the boy who always smiled and acted like a fool, needing to be saved.

If they hadn't seen the veil's footage, they never would have believed Naruto had such a painful past.

"Who could it be?"

Sasuke frowned, staring at the veil. He felt strangely affected by the question. Who had saved Naruto?

How could someone with such a dark past still smile so brightly?

Why had Naruto, who lived through such rejection and pain—just like Sasuke—turned out so differently?

A memory from the academy surfaced in Sasuke's mind.

"My dream is to surpass the Hokage and make everyone in the village acknowledge me!"

That was what Naruto had declared during introductions on the school rooftop.

It had seemed like a naïve dream back then. But now, Sasuke wondered: what kind of pain and determination lay behind that dream?

What had pulled Naruto out of the darkness and into the light?

Who had saved him from falling into despair?
