Nick Fury was sitting on his seat, reading the report that Coulson had sent him. He knew that it would be difficult to recruit Leon because he was a man who always craved power and was in control of every situation, much like Fury himself. However, now that Leon had displayed his powers, it was crucial for them to recruit him as soon as possible.

"Mother Fucker!"

The video that Coulson sent to him showed that Leon has the ability to disintegrate anything inside the cube he was transferred to into a shower of dust. The worst part is that he has probably recruited other individuals with powers into his organization.

Based on Melinda's reports, Revy is one of Leon's wives and has the ability to turn a regular handgun into a weapon of mass destruction, making her just as dangerous as Leon.

She dismantled the Iron Monger armor with ease, as if it were made of paper mache. Keep in mind, that this was the same armor that had fallen from the stratosphere and remained intact. Nevertheless, she managed to riddle it with holes using just a handgun.

Fury needed to take control of these people as soon as possible as they were too dangerous to be left free, and he could deal with the potential backlash from his criminal organization later.

"Ha ha! What's the worst he can do!"

He read through the paperwork on the desk and discovered a strategic plan signed by Secretary Pierce to recruit Leon.

"It's interesting to note that Pierce has already set his plans into motion. I'll let him take the first step in recruiting Leon using the stick approach. If he succeeds, I will have Leon as my subordinate. If he fails, then Pierce will have to face the consequences. I will then use the carrot approach to try and recruit Leon."

"It's satisfying when a plan comes together with minimal effort, saving time and hassle."

After resolving the issue, Fury reclined on his chair and took a few minutes to relax.

-California-

James Rhodes was seen on television giving a report about what had occurred last night in California

"You've all received the official statement of what occurred at Stark Industries last night. There have been unconfirmed reports that a robotic prototype malfunctioned and caused damage to the arc reactor. Fortunately, a member of Tony Stark's personal security staff..."

Tony was engrossed in reading a newspaper that reported on the events of the previous night. While Pepper was putting on his makeup for his press conference

"Iron Man." That's kind of catchy. It's got a nice ring to it. I mean, it's not technically accurate. The suit's a gold-titanium alloy, but it's kind of evocative, the imagery, anyway."

Coulson had walked over to Tony and handed him a notes.

"Here's your alibi."

 "Okay?"

Answered Tony

Coulson continued his explanation

"You were on your yacht."

"Yeah."

"We have port papers, that put you in Avalon all night, and sworn statements from 50 of your guests."

Tony glanced down at the notes he was holding in his hand.

"See, I was thinking maybe we should say it was just Pepper and me alone on the island."

Coulson said in a monotone voice

"That's what happened."

"All right."

Tony confirmed.

"Just read it, word for word."

Tony asked, raising an eyebrow.

"There's nothing about Stane here or Leon and Revy."

"That's being handled. He's on vacation. Small aircraft have such a poor safety record. And Leon and Revy were too stealthy, that there were no news reports about them."

Tony fully understood as Leon and Revy arrived at the last minute to steal the battle's thunder.

"But what about the whole cover story that it's a bodyguard? He's my... I mean, is that... That's kind of flimsy, don't you think?"

"This isn't my first rodeo, Mr. Stark. Just stick to the official statement, and soon, this will all be behind you. You've got 90 seconds."

Pepper promptly conveyed her appreciation.

"Agent Coulson? I just wanted to say thank you very much for all of your help."

Coulson smiled at her response

"That's what we do. You'll be hearing from us."

"From the Strategic Homeland..."

"Just call us S.H.I.E.L.D."

Upon seeing Coulson's departure, Pepper turned to Tony.

"Right. Let's get this show on the road."

Tony, carrying the notes, approached Pepper.

"You know, it's actually not that bad. Even I don't think I'm Iron Man."

Pepper assisted Tony in adjusting his suit.

"You're not Iron Man."

"Am so."

"You're not."

"All right, suit yourself. You know, if I were Iron Man, I'd have this girlfriend who knew my true identity. She'd be a wreck, 'cause she'd always be worrying that I was going to die, yet so proud of the man I'd become. She'd be wildly conflicted, which would only make her more crazy about me. Tell me you never think about that night."

"What night?"

"You know."

"Are you talking about the night that we danced and went up on the roof, and then you went downstairs to get me a drink, and you left me there, by myself? Is that the night you're talking about?"

Tony nodded

"Thought so... Will that be all, Mr. Stark?"

"Yes, that will be all, Miss Potts."

During the press conference, Rhodey made an announcement.

"And now, Mr. Stark has prepared a statement. He will not be taking any questions."

Tony ascended to the podium, and as he stood there, he gazed down at the reporters gathered below.

"Thank you. Been a while since I was in front of you. I figure I'll stick to the cards this time. There's been speculation that I was involved in the events that occurred on the freeway and the rooftop..."

Tony was in the middle of the press conference and was interrupted by a journalist named Christine Everhart whom he knew from before.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark, but do you honestly expect us to believe that that was a bodyguard in a suit that conveniently appeared, despite the fact that you..."

Tony then stared at Christine Everhart. 

"I know that it's confusing. It is one thing to question the official story, and another thing entirely to make wild accusations, or insinuate that I'm a superhero.

"I never said you were a superhero."

Answered Christine.

"Didn't? Well, good, because that would be outlandish and fantastic. I'm just not the hero type. Clearly. With this laundry list of character defects, all the mistakes I've made, largely public."

Rhodi leaned over and whispered into his ear.

"Just stick to the cards, man."

Tony then reassured himself.

"Yeah, okay. Yeah."

"The truth is... I am Iron Man."

-Russia-

As his many years in exile passed, Anton Vanko grew older and more frail. He watched news footage of Tony Stark, the son of Howard Stark, confessing to the world that he was Iron Man.

"I mean, let's face it, I'm not the heroric type. A laundry list of character defects, all the mistakes I've made, largely public. The truth is… I am Iron Man."

"Ivan..."

Anton called for his son to come help him eat his dinner.

"That should be you."

As he ate, Anton apologized to his son for not allowing Ivan to be in Stark's position, noting that it should be him there as the CEO of Stark Industries.

"Don't listen to that crap."

Vanko told his father not to think about this but his father kept speaking.

"I'm sorry. All I can give you is my knowledge."

Reminding him that all he could now give him due to having no money was his vast knowledge before passing away.

Seeing his father lying dead caused Vanko to take a large drink of vodka before screaming into the air in mournful rage.

"AAHHHHH! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

With his father now dead, Ivan Vanko focused his efforts on achieving his father's greatest wish. With this in mind, he began work on a replica of the miniature Arc Reactor based on his father's and Howard Stark's designs from the eighties.

Vanko took weeks to design and construct an exoskeleton with two electrified whips that could cut through almost anything.

Powered by a miniature Arc Reactor, to use against Tony Stark in an aggressive effort to discredit and kill him. Thus securing revenge for his father.

Vanko's overall aim is to bring down Stark Industries' credibility forever, mirroring what he felt, Howard Stark had done to his father decades before.

-A Few Hours After Tony Revealed His Iron Man-

That night, Tony arrived home and was greeted by a visitor who was standing by the window. He revealed himself to be Leon Uzumaki.

"Tony, your security needs improvement. I just caught this black guy breaking into your house."

Nick Fury was tied up from head to toe in rope, lying on the ground.

"My name is Nick Fury, Director of SHIELD, and not some black guy who broke in!"

"You think you're the only superhero in the world? Mr. Stark, you've become part of a bigger universe. You just don't kno-"

Before Fury could speak anymore, Tony interrupted him.

"I don't care who you are or what your purpose is. Please leave my house immediately."

"Tony was angry about Fury's intrusion and asked Jarvis how he managed to break in."

"J.A.R.V.I.S., how did he manage to enter? I understand Leon, but not him?"

"I'm sorry, sir. I'm not exactly sure why, but his identity has been verified."

Nick Fury explained

"AI systems are east to deceive."

Swish!

Fury didn't see another word because a Kunai was implanted right next to his face cutting his cheek.

"Fury, I know you're trying to sound all mysterious and scary! but being hogtied to the floor defeats the purpose."

"And I also know you're trying to invite Tony into your boy band you call The Avengers Initiative."
