28: True Red as Blood
After dealing with the Curse Sound Tadpole, the girl’s gaze shifted to the remaining two supernatural magical beasts.
One was a giant stone turtle carrying red stone pillars on its back. The pillars seemed to have magma flowing within, with their bases emitting a dark red glow.
This Lava Stone Turtle was now cowering on the ground, afraid to breathe loudly, its head pressed to the earth, not daring to move.
The other resembled a human in appearance, a natural forest fairy. She had butterfly-like wings on her back and was only half the height of a human. Her entire body emitted a pale green light, with gentle breezes circling around her. Her emerald hair flickered like will-o’-wisps, constantly shedding particles of light.
This Nature Sequence 5 · Vine Fairy was the least hostile of the magical beasts. Her intelligence was roughly equivalent to that of a 12-year-old child, and she now looked at Loranhil with adoration.
Fairies, as a species, have no parents and are all female. They are almost always born in natural forests. Though rare, they are all extremely adept at hiding. Moreover, they have great potential – as long as their forest isn’t destroyed, their power will slowly grow until they become a Fairy Queen.
In this little fairy’s eyes, Loranhil was practically a living Fairy Queen. That pure, unadulterated aura deeply attracted her.
If the girl hadn’t given permission, she would have pounced on her already.

After this battle, the magical beasts in the Tisilan Mountain Range all pledged their allegiance. No beast dared to attack the rabbits in the mountains anymore. Not only that, but if new magical beasts migrated to the area in the future, they would be disciplined by these seniors and warned about the various rules: not to attack rabbits, not to damage or steal crops, not to trample paths, and to help rabbits in need.
Under Loranhil’s command, large areas of hills were developed. First, the forests on the hills were felled, the soil was prepared, and terraced fields were built. Then, magical beasts that could control water flow were brought in to irrigate from top to bottom, softening the soil and increasing fertility.
When there wasn’t enough labor for farming, a few Moss Rock Rhinos were called in. These giant rhinos lowered the horns on their foreheads, which served as natural plows, making the work very convenient.
After each job, the rabbits would prepare many carrots for these rhinos. The rhinos liked this very much, so they gradually came to enjoy this cooperation. It saved them a lot of time searching for food, and plowing was effortless for them, just walking a few laps in the field.
Not just rice fields, but to diversify the food supply, Loranhil also opened up many orchards in the mountains. These were all [Bronze grade] varieties improved by her, already at the limit of what could grow without relying on Mana. [Silver grade] and above crops required an environment rich in Mana to grow.
The fruit trees included peaches, citrus, plums, lemons, guavas, figs, olives, and more.
Vine fruits like watermelons, grapes, and tomatoes were also planted.
After Loranhil’s continuous adjustments, the quality of these fruits became terrifyingly high, and they even possessed certain supernatural attributes. To prevent wild animals from stealing them, special mountain patrol teams were organized to tour inside and outside the orchards daily.
At the same time, these fruits could be used as exchange goods to trade with magical beasts in the forest for other items or to pay for services.
These fruits were much better than meat, not just as food, but also beneficial for improving one’s strength.
[Peach · Special] (Bronze grade): Sweet and juicy, loved by all. Has a good sleep-aiding effect, allowing quick sleep even during the day.
[Lemon · Special] (Bronze grade): Very sour and refreshing, can invigorate the mind and stimulate inner strength.
[Watermelon · Special] (Bronze grade): Sweet and delicious, can calm one’s emotions and promote tranquility.

Other crops like cotton, linen, and bamboo were also planted, though they weren’t supernatural crops.
When harvest season came, Beheading Sparrows from the forest helped harvest the wheat and rice.
The green-winged Beheading Sparrows, like dive-bombing aircraft, plunged from the sky. Their hard wing feathers, like scythes, cut through the fields, mowing down the golden waves of wheat. After the rabbits harvested the grain, the scattered grains and ears left in the fields became food for these birds.
After more than six months of busy work, agriculture in the Tisilan Mountain Range finally got on track, and Loranhil could finally relax a bit to do other things.
Recently, she had been feeling increasingly sleepy, still feeling drowsy even after sleeping 15 hours a day.
This month, she was teaching cultural classes to some rabbit-eared students. To accelerate the construction of basic education, she first selected a group of smarter, more open-minded rabbits to impart knowledge to, followed by important moral education classes.
An organization, regardless of size, needs its own core ideas and theories. These are the principles and goals that guide everything. It’s extremely important, with the establishment of worldviews being a crucial part.
Other subjects could be self-taught using inheritance gems, but these courses she taught personally, aiming to instill iron-like will and ideals into this self-deprecating and weak race.
In fact, rabbits are very diligent. Their only weaknesses are timidity and cowardice. Unless pushed to the brink, they tend to avoid conflict whenever possible.
The village the girl had saved was actually a rare exception, because the old village chief’s many experiences in his youth had helped him overcome this typical character of his kind.
Under his leadership, the villagers were much braver than those in other villages. The other villages were a different story.
The current goal was to train a group of teachers, who would then go to various villages to set up schools and establish a basic education system.
“Does anyone remember what we discussed the day before yesterday about how humans established their first empire, the True Red Empire?”
“I know… teacher.”
“Very well, please answer.” Loranhil asked her to stand and respond.
A young rabbit stood up, nervously answering the question.

In the early First Era of the Ivar world, humans’ status was not high, even extremely low. At that time, the Western Continent was ruled by five great nations: three Elven kingdoms, the beast-folk’s Wild Fang Empire, and the ogres’ Stone Axe Kingdom.
The Silver Elves, Forest Elves, and Ice Elves established three powerful countries around the World Tree. The vast plains south of the Sigh Mountains and near the central area were occupied by the Wild Fang Empire, while the northern plateaus and mountains were ogre territory.
Beast-folk and ogres were naturally stronger than humans, and they had many Primal Sequence and War Sequence powerhouses.
In years of good harvest, things were fine, but during lean years, beast-folk and ogres would attack humans, capturing them for food. It was an extremely bloody and cruel era.
Humans’ physique was far inferior to these beast-folk and ogres, and because powerful individuals were rare, their legacy often died out between generations. Resources were also extremely scarce. They could hardly resist the invasion of other races and could only barely survive.
This situation continued until the arrival of demons, when a turning point occurred.
At that time, humans stole power from demons to survive. Thus, the first batch of Demon Sequence supernatural beings was born among humans. They were called the Blood Clan and were mocked as vampires by other races.
The magical power of the Demon Sequence wasn’t designed with humans in mind, so there was a great conflict between this power and human bodies. Many skills even required consuming one’s own blood to use. Each use of supernatural magic power was extremely painful, no less than torture, and a great torment to one’s spirit.
Under the dual harm to body and mind, early Demon Sequence humans rarely lived past 30 years. If they didn’t die, they went mad.
But despite its many flaws, countless humans began to cultivate this power, because there was no other choice. Without power to resist, they might not even live to 30.
Between being helplessly placed on other races’ dinner tables or fighting to the death while vomiting blood, humans could only choose the latter.
The existence of this group finally gave humans of that time the power to resist other races. From then on, scattered humans slowly gathered, and in the midst of madness and slaughter, established the first human nation, the True Red Empire.
True red as blood, from death comes life.
