She Belongs To The Devil

Chapter 848: Empty Threats

Heaven was peaceful these days despite missing one of its important residents–Asherah. That peace was ensured after the disappearance of another resident–Michael.

The heavenly palace was operating smoothly under the rule of the new chief prince. The law and order were slowly falling back into place.

The power struggle between the supporters of God and the supporters of Michael has now been non-existent ever since the power display of God that day. After seeing how God stripped Michael of his position, the supporters of Michael have been rather quiet.

One could say that the heaven was flourishing.

If the Goddess was back now, it would truly be a perfection.

However, it seemed like the perfection had to wait for a little longer because the core reason behind the previously unstable heaven was still unresolved. Michael's jealousy and inferiority complex were now greater than before.

Just when the future outlook was looking great, Michael suddenly decided to pay a visit to his old palace.

A loud crashing noise resonated throughout the throne hall, prompting all the court ladies to scream in fear. Their fear became twofold when their eyes fell on their previous ruler.

Michael's dark red hair looked disheveled, his golden wings had lost their shine, and his green eyes looked extremely dangerous. His body language, on the other hand, made him seem like a drunk.

The whole hall fell silent. Everyone was afraid to even lift a finger or produce a whisper. Michael was like a wounded tiger right now, there was no telling what he would do if they dared to provoke him.

An angel who was working closely with the chief prince Tobias these days took the courage to step forward and asked, "What brought you here, Your High– Umm… sir?"

"What brought me here?" Michael laughed mockingly. His face suddenly contorted, his eyes holding a raging fury behind them. "Why? I can't even come to my own palace? Do I need to get your permission to step my foot here?"

"That was not what I meant." The angel looked down in fear and said meekly, "His Highness is not here at the moment. So, if you have anything to discuss with the chief prince, you will have to wait for his return."

Without any warning, Michael grabbed that angel by the collar and lifted him in the air. And he roared in rage, "Do you have to keep reminding me that I am not the chief prince anymore? Do you revel in my sorrow? Are you mocking me, you worthless bottom feeder?"

"No, I'm not. I'm simply stating that–"

Before the angel could finish his sentence, Michael soared in the air and when the two of them were high enough, he threw that poor angel down as if he was throwing a rock.

That angel crashed at the foot of the throne. If the throne wasn't sturdy enough, it would have shattered into pieces. Instead, the angel got badly hurt and started to bleed gold.

That wasn't enough to quell Michael's rage. He fixed his glare on that hurt angel and swooped down like a hawk that was eyeing to grab its prey.

Thankfully, before Michael could get his hands on the terrified angels and wreak havoc, Tobias appeared in his throne hall. He grabbed his father's fist without breaking a sweat and calmly asked, "Is there something I can help you with, father?"

"Ugh!" Michael forced himself away from Tobias' tight grasp and shouted, "Yeah. You can help me by getting the hell out of this palace!" He spread his arms and shamelessly claimed, "Everything here is mine!"

Tobias remained unfazed. He even had a small smile on his lips when he politely reminded his father, "This palace used to belong to you, father, but not anymore. It is mine now. I'm sure you haven't forgotten that grandfather was the one who bestowed me the title of chief prince, and everything that comes with the title belongs to me now."

"How dare you mock me?" Michael raised his hand to slap Tobias.

However, Tobias wasn't the same weakling as before. He was no longer afraid to stand up to his father.

He caught his father's hand before it landed on his cheek. To make sure that his father wouldn't underestimate him from now on, or disrespect him by coming to the palace, he twisted his father's hand by exerting enough pressure to fracture it, but not break it completely.

"Aarghhhhh!" Michael's scream of agony echoed throughout the huge hall.

Michael's scream brought a sense of solace to all the angels who were previously scared of him. Those who were treated unjustly during his rule were secretly enjoying seeing him powerless.

Michael held his fractured hand, and as it was healing, he glared at Tobias with fury. "You dare hurt your own father?"

A hint of resentment flickered in Tobias' eyes. "Why can't I? You were ready to place all the blame on me for your own gain. You've blackmailed me. You've sent me to fights that I could barely win. You've used and abused me repeatedly.

So, tell me, father, why can't I do the same to you?" His eyes were now red, his blood boiling with anger.

For the first time, Michael had no answer to his son's questions. That didn't mean he had accepted the new reality. He was still seething with rage now that his ego was bruised further.

"If you have nothing more to say, you may take your leave." Tobias turned around with grace and elegantly sat on his rightful throne. He did so to make his point that he was no longer a pawn in his father's games. "And I would appreciate it if you pre-informed me instead of dropping by unannounced."

Michael clenched his fists and turned on his heels. He walked away while glaring at everyone present in the hall, trying to remember the faces of those who happily served his son now.

His footsteps suddenly came to a stop when his glare landed on an angel who was previously his devout follower. "You…" His rage suddenly flared up once more.

In the blink of an eye, Michael flew to that angel and landed a kick on the latter's stomach, making that angel fall to the ground.

Michael then sat atop that angel and hit the latter's face while simultaneously shouting and screaming. "You filthy pig! You were supposed to speak up for me and defend me when my father was punishing me. You were supposed to serve me! You were supposed to be my shield and die for me! But you pigs didn't even dare to raise your eyes when my father was here.

You all betrayed me! And now, you are shamelessly working for that brat who doesn't even deserve the throne?"

Instead of getting angry, that angel suddenly burst into laughter, taking Michael by surprise. He casually wiped the golden fluid dripping down his forehead and cheeks and looked Michael in the eye without fearing him.

"Don't you get it yet, Michael? Nobody followed you because they wanted to or because they respected you. They followed you out of fear. They licked your shoes and buttered you up for their survival."

He easily pushed Michael off of him and got up on his feet. He then said while looking down at Michael who was still on the floor, "A little advice from your former follower, Michael. Don't go around pretending like you are still our prince. You are just a nobody now, a powerless nobody. No one is going to lick your shoes anymore. If anything, they will come at you while bearing their weapons."

He then calmly faced Tobias and bowed, "Your Highness, I will take my leave. I need to clean my bloodied clothes."

"Okay."

As soon as he got permission from Tobias, he disappeared from there.

Michael picked himself up from the floor. He looked back at everyone and declared, "I'm not done here. I swear that I will take revenge on all of you for betraying me. I will make you all regret everything that you've done today, I will make you all pay for the humiliation that you all caused me today."

He gave a death glare to his son and screamed while pointing his finger, "Mark my words, son. I won't rest until I take back what's mine. Until I do, I will ruin everything that you hold dear, including your dearest cousin."

After saying that, he vanished from the hall, causing a sense of panic among those who heard his threats.

Tobias sighed and shook his head. 'He is never going to change.' He then calmly addressed the crowd, "There's no need to panic, everyone. He no longer holds the power that he used to. He can do nothing to us now. Whatever he said just now are his empty threats, and nothing more. So, let's not dwell on his words any longer.
