Sharingan Evolution: Proficiency's Path

Chapter 3: Chapter 3: Basic Taijutsu

In the blink of an eye, the morning had passed.

At the ninja academy, the general schedule was for theoretical lessons in the morning and practical training in the afternoon.

Thanks to his adult mindset and the memories from his previous self, Qingming managed to barely keep up with the theoretical lessons.

As for the practical training in the afternoon, as long as they weren't testing the Three Basic Jutsu, he could get by.

Regarding the Three Basic Jutsu, based on his previous self's memories, it was tested approximately once a week. For the rest of the time, the classes focused on combat skills and the use of ninja tools.

The last test had been three days ago, so there was no immediate concern about exposing himself.

As for the next test… four days should be enough for him to grind out the Clone Jutsu to at least a basic level.

With that foundation, he wouldn't need to worry about the assessments.

The afternoon came quickly.

On the academy training field, their instructor, Sugiwood Ichiten, addressed the thirty-plus students with a stern voice, "Next, I'll assign you all into pairs. You will fight against each other, and unless I call for a stop, you are not allowed to quit. Even if you're defeated, you must get back up and continue fighting. Do you understand?"

At this, the students began murmuring among themselves.

Qingming wasn't sure what others were thinking, but he felt a sense of urgency.

Typically, this type of fight would only happen in the fifth or sixth year of the academy. Now, with such early and intense combat training, it was clear that their curriculum had been accelerated.

This wasn't hard to understand given the current state of the ninja world. In times of peace, the academy had a six-year program, but in times of war, when the front lines were in desperate need of fresh soldiers, students would be rushed through their schooling.

'If my memory serves me right, the Leaf Village's graduation exams usually happen between October 7th and 10th,' Qingming thought.

Following the exams, the results would be sent to the higher-ups, and after receiving approval from the Hokage, the students would be formally registered as ninja on October 15th.

And today was September 3rd.

In other words, in just about a month, they could be forced to graduate.

This realization stirred a sense of urgency within Qingming.

"Quiet!" Sugiwood Ichiten's voice snapped through the field, silencing the students instantly.

"Now, when I call your name, step forward. Hanada Tsundo."

A stocky student stepped out.

"Hirai Matsu."

Another student joined him.

"You two are partners," Sugiwood Ichiten declared.

"Yes, teacher!"

Hanada Tsundo and Hirai Matsu stood side by side, ready to fight.

With a nod, the teacher continued, "Yamanaka Hana, Aoki Ryoko…"

One by one, the students were paired off. Qingming found himself partnered with a civilian ninja named Moriki Tetsu, a fairly skilled student whose abilities were on par with his previous self.

But that was his previous self. The current Qingming wasn't confident about winning.

Despite Moriki Tetsu only being around ten years old, his battle experience far surpassed Qingming's. After all, Qingming had never learned how to fight in his previous life.

Fortunately, his adult composure helped him remain calm.

Shortly after, Sugiwood Ichiten's voice rang out again, "Remember, no weapons are allowed in this fight."

Hearing that, Qingming quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Even though the training kunai weren't sharpened, they could still cause significant pain if they hit a vital spot.

He knew he had to gain combat experience, but he wasn't eager to suffer more than necessary. He wasn't a masochist.

Yes, Qingming had already resigned himself to getting beaten.

'Hopefully, this beating won't be for nothing,' he thought, glancing at the familiar interface of his mental panel. If everything went as he expected, by the end of the day, he'd have a new skill listed.

"Prepare... Seal the sign of opposition!"

Sugiwood Ichiten's command echoed, and Qingming and Moriki Tetsu simultaneously raised their right hands to form the seal of confrontation.

"Begin!"

At the signal, Moriki Tetsu charged straight at Qingming, throwing a fierce punch aimed at his face.

Although Qingming had mentally prepared himself, the speed and ferocity of the attack caught him off guard.

However, whether due to the residual muscle memory of his previous self or his body's reflexes, he managed to react just in time, dodging the strike by turning his body slightly.

Not only that, but almost instinctively, he counterattacked, sending a punch toward Moriki Tetsu's side.

Thump!

Moriki Tetsu raised his right arm to block Qingming's punch.

As they passed each other, Moriki Tetsu twisted his body, pivoting on his left foot, and swung his right leg in a roundhouse kick aimed at Qingming's head.

'Damn, this kid doesn't hold back,' Qingming thought as he felt the gust of wind from the incoming kick.

But he knew this was just how ninjas fought—ruthless toward their enemies and even more ruthless toward themselves. This was only the adaptation phase. When Sugiwood Ichiten allowed them to use weapons, the danger would increase significantly.

If he wanted to survive in this chaotic world, he needed to adapt quickly. Otherwise, even with his proficiency panel, he'd still end up useless.

With that thought, Qingming refocused, fully concentrating on the fight and drawing from the memories of his past life.

Time passed, and the sounds of fighting and groans of pain filled the air as battles raged on the training field. Despite the occasional cries of agony, Sugiwood Ichiten never called for a halt.

During this time, Qingming was knocked down several times.

Although he could draw on his past self's memories to temporarily cope with Moriki Tetsu, his movements were too stiff, and his opponent quickly exploited an opening.

As a result, he suffered the consequences.

Whether Moriki Tetsu held a grudge against his previous self or not, his attacks were vicious. By the time training was over, Qingming's body was covered in bruises.

"Hiss…"

Rubbing his bruised eye as he walked down the street, Qingming didn't feel much resentment. In fact, he felt a bit thankful.

Why? Because his panel now displayed a new skill—Basic Taijutsu.

"Panel!" Qingming commanded mentally, and a faint blue screen appeared in his vision.

Name: Uchiha Qingming

Age: 10Physical Strength: 5Mental Energy: 7Chakra: 6 (127)

Bloodline: Sharingan · Not Awakened (51/100)

Skills:

Chakra Extraction Technique: lv0 (2/100)Clone Technique: lv0 (19/100)Basic Taijutsu: lv0 (35/100)

After just one battle, his Basic Taijutsu skill had reached level 0 with a progress of 35/100, surpassing his Clone Technique and becoming his fastest-improving skill.

By Qingming's estimation, his past self's taijutsu was at the early level of lv1.

In other words, after two or three more fights like this, he'd fully integrate all of his predecessor's knowledge of taijutsu.

He owed this rapid progress to Moriki Tetsu's brutal attacks, which forced him to adapt quickly.

How could he hold a grudge against someone who helped him improve?
