Chapter 3: Last Day on Earth
The induction ceremony was short and concise. It was pretty boring too; Wright didn't even remember most of the speech.
Currently he was sitting in the waiting room for the interview. He had chosen Wilderness Survival as his course, Wright didn't care much for the survival part; he had chosen the course mainly for translating the Spell's runes.
Just then he heard his number being called out: "No. 16 Wright!"
Standing up, Wright took a deep breath before making his way to the room. Wright found himself in a small office, sitting across from the administrator.
The Academy Personnel didn't waste any time and started asking questions. "Would you mind telling us about the Aspect you received; is it combat, sorcery or utility?"
Wright thought for a bit and answered: "It's a mix of all three"
What he said was right, his Aspect allowed him to turn into aliens; these aliens could vary from sorcery to combat to utility.
The administrator noted his answer down in his pad and continued: "Would you mind telling us about your Aspect rank?"
Wright remained silent; he was not going to answer sensitive questions like these.
She took his silence as a refusal to talk and jotted that down too: "Did you receive a True Name?"
"No" Wright lied through his teeth; he was not going to put a target on his back just because he wanted to show off. The only reason Nephis survived was because she had a Supreme backing her.
Granted it wasn't out of the kindness of his heart. The interview continued like that for around 5 minutes before the interviewer laid down her pad.
"Thank you Sleep Wright, I think we have everything we need"
Wright quickly hurried to his room, the room wasn't that luxurious. It had a bed and a bathroom with reinforced tiles everywhere.
Wright sat down and decided to test his abilities. Ben 10 was his favourite cartoon show while he grew up and Ghostfreak was such a great antagonist.

The best day, Wright made his way to the Wilderness Survival room. He knocked on the door; and after a few minutes the door cracked open.
He was a lively old man with messy grey hair. He had a pair of bushy eyebrows and eyes that seemed rejoiceful at the fact that Wright was here.
"Come on young man!"
Entering the room, Wright could see it was nearly deserted with only one person sitting at the corner of the room. It was none other than Sunny the protagonist, who was forgotten by everyone.
Taking four seats away from Sunny, Wright quietly observed.
"I'm Awakened Julius, what's your name?" Julius broke the silence and asked.
"Wright, just Wright"
Julius raised his eyebrow at this city response and continued: "Let me introduce you to your classmate, Sunless"
"I know, we meet each other after our Nightmare"
"I see, well then Wright since you're an hour late you'll study one hour more with me to catch up with Sunless"
Wright nodded his head he had overslept as he trained his As piece well into the night. Wright's experiments revealed that he could stay in alien form for at least two hours before his Flaw started setting in.

Wright's days continued as he mainly divided his day into the parts. First, he would wake up and attend Julius's class. Second, he would go back to his room and sleep for two hours. Finally he would experiment with his Aspect and also train his body.
Wright woke up early as he did normally but today was not a normal day — it was the days before Winter Solstice.
Entering the class, he only saw Sunless. It seemed Julius would be late today. He sat down near Sunny and greeted him with a smile.
"Good Morning, Sunny!"
Sunless looked at Wright with a nervous expression. To Sunny, Wright was terrifying. Sometimes when Sunny sents his shadow to scout other people's rooms, he entered Wright's room.
Instead of finding Wright, he found a two meter tall ghost; it had a gaseous appearance with chains on his shoulders, wrist and neck. It had a green hourglass type symbol on its chest.
This freaked Sunny out, but the thing that frightened him more was that the creature opened its skin and revealed its tentacles which tried to grab Sunny's shadow. Luckily due to his quick thinking he was able to escape
This scared Sunny as he could feel that if the creature had actually grabbed his shadow his shadow would've been destroyed. Sunny didn't want to think about the consequence of his shadow being destroyed.
After that incident, Sunny never went into Wright's room again. He was also terrified of him after that. But, what Sunny did not know was that Wright knew what happened to Sunny and why he was acting so weird over the past few days.
The creature was Wright's Ghostfreak transformation. Wright had just wanted to scare Sunny but to his surprise his tentacle was able to grab Sunny's shadow.
Ghostfreak had never revealed such powers in the series. Wright did not know reason for this power but he would still take it. He was now Sunny's natural predator.
After a few minutes, Wright heard the door opening. Looking back he could see teacher Julius in a haggard expression.
"I'm sorry, I'm late"
"No problem, teacher Julius!" Wright replied with a smile.
Julius looked at them with an emotional expression: "As you both know, we've finished everything about how to survive in the wilderness. Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, you guys must survive and come back. Do you understand!?"
Wright raised his thumb and said: "Yes sir!.", while Sunny nodded.
"That's the spirit, now you're all dismissed. Enjoy your last day in the Waking World."
Wright looked at Sunny and smiled: "Good luck tomorrow!"
Sunny smiled back the first time he ever did something like that: "You too!"
Wright returned to his room holding a book. It recited everything about his Aspect, and how it could be used in a few creative ways.
The first thing about the ghostfreak transformation was that he could levitate and fly, he could also use his claws as weapons which had the ability to tear through steel and reinforced steel.
The second thing was that he could turn himself intangible or parts of his body intangible. He could also possess other beings; while he possessed them he could use their Aspects. He could also disrupt electronics and make beings pass out but going through them while he is intangible.
The third thing is that Wright could tear off his skin which revealed his tentacles. These tentacles were useful for grabbing objects or he could use these tentacles to grab people and drag them into himself instantly killing them.
His physical aspects were also enhanced, Wright could also regenerate parts of his body as ghostfreak. Wright could also turn into gas which he could use to suffocate beings. He could also control his tail and use telekinesis.
Wright felt his Aspect was too strong, he was sure he would be able to kill a few Awakened humans if he wanted.
Wright then took the book and ripped it to shreds as ghostfreak. The information in that book was too sensitive for home to carry it around.
Looking outside Wright could see it was completely dark. Seeing that it was late, he decided to sleep. But, before that he had a ritual he needed to complete.
He took a prayer position and started paying to all the Gods, Daemons and even the ancient God's.
"Please don't send me to the Forgotten Shore, I won't be able to survive there; please cut me a break. I'm just a poor guy who has been through a lot. I'm a chill guy so I'll do anything you want as payment!"
After 10 minutes of this, Wright finally went to sleep
****
Wright felt more refreshed than ever; he was currently walking with the other Sleepers to the Academy's medical room.
The center looked more like a shrine than a hospital. Its interior contained both highly advanced technology as well as some of the best Healers among the Awakened. For the duration of their first journey into the Dream Realm, the bodies of Sleepers would be kept safe in specially designed pods and sustained by the magical powers of those Healers if anything unfortunate were to happen on the other side of the Spell.
Of course, whether or not they would wake up in the end wholly depended on the Sleepers themselves.
To Wright's surprise, after entering the medical center, Instructor Rock did not take them directly to the wing containing Sleeper pods. Instead, he led them to a comparatively deserted floor and then opened the doors to a spacious gallery that was brightly illuminated by the beautiful crimson rays of the setting sun.
There, they saw rows and rows of wheelchairs. In each wheelchair, there was a person with a blank, strangely peaceful expression on their face. All these people were completely silent, motionless, and still. They did not show any reaction to the appearance of guests.
They all seemed to be… empty.
Wright knew what they were — they were hollows.
Instructor Rock looked at the empty people with solemn eyes.
"There is a reason I brought you all here. Look well and remember. Some of you may know who these people are… for those of you who don't, they are called Hollow."
He gritted his teeth.
"Each one of them was once either a Sleeper or an Awakened. Some of them were weak, some of them were strong. Some were even incredibly powerful. All of them have perished in the Dream Realm."
Instructor Rock gritted his teeth: "So don't die out there!"
Half an hour later the Sleepers were led to their personal rooms and into their pods.
Wright left a long sigh: "Let's do this. I already survived killing the Daemon of Destiny; so this is nothing.
Wright closed his eyes and entered the pod

[Welcome to the Dream Realm Antithesis of Humanity, Wright!]
Wright quickly stood up and searched his surroundings. He was surrounded by sand; it felt wrong, very wrong.
He turned around and what he saw crushed his spirits. In the distance there was a magnificent black marbled pyramid that dwarfed the seven wonders and made them seem insignificant.
Wright fell down on his knees; he knew what this was. It was the Tomb of Ariel
The Gods, Daemon or the ancient God's they were benevolent; they had granted him what he wanted. But, at what cost?.
Wright stood up quickly and he was not going to give up. He needed to run
He had to run, run, run, run, run, run and escape this disastrous place.
His destination — Forgotten Shore. The very place he wanted to avoid.

A/N - So what do you think of this chapter; credits to Shadow Slave: Eternal Madness. This plot was based on it, the whole forgotten shore arc would be a pain to write and it felt very boring repeating the same thing that others did. So, I was looking at some fan-fic's for some inspirational ideas and that's when I read Shadow Slave: Eternal Madness. The plot seemed actually interesting so I borrowed some of it lol
