Chapter 36: Chapter 35: A True Ninja
Chapter 35: A True Ninja
Sasuke looked down at the corpse of the Nightmare creature he had just killed and pulled out a scrolling seal.
He then sealed the creature and looked towards the general direction of the place he had been staying at for the past few weeks.
This place is known as Bastion…apparently one of the biggest citadels of the humans of this world was where Sasuke had found himself when he was transported into this world.
At first, he was just routinely teleporting across dimensions and was investigating the Otsuki clan, yet somehow he had ended up in this plane.
The thing was, other than going into another plane called the 'Waking' world, Sasuke was stuck here in the dream realm.
He could not, no matter what he did, travel back to the elemental nations.
And as he was temporarily stuck inside of this new world, he decided he had to lay low and slowly learn more about the workings of this 'Dream Realm.'
With his time inside of this new world, he had decided he needed a new identity.
It was not really hard for him to be able to create a new identity inside of this world, using some of his Genjutsu with his Sharingan.
Just at the same time, he was able to stumble upon something known as the 'Winter Solstice.'
While he was not really a part of this thing known as the Nightmare Spell, Sasuke was able to register himself as a Sleeper a week before the winter Solstice.
Following this, he rejected the training inside of the Awakened Academy and gathered information inside of the Waking World until it was time for the solstice.
And when it had arrived, he got 'brought' into the Dream Realm by the spell and was 'coincidentally' right outside of Bastion.
And following this he 'tethered' himself to the Dream Gate inside of the citadel of Bastion.
Well, all of this was how the world viewed him at least. The world saw him as an Ascendant who had recently emerged, but reality was obviously not like that.
Sasuke was also spending his time hunting inside of the Dream Realm.
Sure, the larger and stronger monsters he sealed for the time being, but he did constantly sell the weaker ones to earn some Credits inside of this world.
With this, he did have a steady supply of money inside of this world and he also did know quite a lot.
About how this world had the 3 great clans and the government ruling it and how he was inside of the territory of the Sword Domain.
"Mr. Sasuke, another successful hunt today?" Questioned the usual vendor Sasuke had found inside of the city of Bastion.
"You could say so." Sasuke mentioned that he sold some of the monster corpses he had gathered.
He had contemplated selling some of the stronger monsters, ones above the Awakened rank he tends to sell; however most of the items that were at the Ascendant rank were being tracked by the great clans.
Especially since this was the main citadel of one of the main clans inside of this world.
Sasuke did not want any anomalies inside of this world due to his actions.
His goal was to simply observe for now, and eventually find a way to return to his own world and report his findings to the Hokage.
Well…future Hokage anyways.
Afterall, his fight with Naruto had just ended 1 year ago, so he had yet to be crowned as the Kage of the Village Hidden in the leaves.
"Your credits have been transferred to your account." The man mentioned to Sasuke who nodded at him politely.
Sasuke then walked to the Dream Gate of this citadel and transported himself back to the waking world.
He currently lives inside of NQSC and had the identity as an Ascendant.
It had been about 5 days since the winter solstice had begun and Sasuke had amassed a minute fortune in this world.
That was because Sasuke was able to make 2 other different identities for himself during this solstice, and he was apparently part of an Awakened party according to the entire world.
The identity of the other 2 people were registered under the allies 'Naruto' and 'Sakura.' Sasuke did this with the hope of eventually being able to re-unit with his allies.
Afterall, if they did somehow eventually make it here, they would need covers to work under.
He also did want to go on another mission with his team…something like old times sake.
…
Sasuke stepped through the Dream Gate and returned to the Waking World
The complexities of this world gnawed at him. The Sword Domain, the Great Clans, and this society's fixation on "Ascendants" and "Awakened" all felt like constructs he could dismantle with ease, yet he knew there were forces at work here even he hadn't fully grasped.
As Sasuke prepared to leave for his temporary home, something unusual happened. The air around him felt heavier, charged with an unfamiliar energy.
His Rinnegan flickered, sensing a shift in the world around him.
Suddenly, the ground seemed to pull away beneath his feet, and before he could react, Sasuke found himself somewhere else entirely.
He looked around, eyes narrowing as he tried to make sense of his surroundings.
A majestic ancient palace with a vast dome supported by towering stone pillars that stood above the boundless grey fog in the Spirit World.
"What is this place?" Sasuke murmured, instinctively activating his Rinnegan to analyse the strange environment.
However, to his shock, his Rinnegan could see nothing.
No chakra pathways, no hidden traps or illusions.
It was as if the very fabric of this realm defied the fundamental rules of space and time he had come to know.
A voice echoed through the vast emptiness. "You've arrived into my world upon my invitation…."
Sasuke spun around, hand instinctively reaching for his sword.
A figure sat before him, at the front of a long table.
His appearance, or at least what Sasuke could make out, was oddly non-threatening, with a calm demeanour and piercing eyes that seemed to see right through Sasuke.
"Who are you?"
"You can call me, The Fool," the man said. "And you, Sasuke Uchiha, are about to be presented with a unique opportunity."
Sasuke's eyes narrowed. "How do you know my name?" His voice was cold, guarded.
Klein smiled, but there was no malice in it. "I know simply because I do." The Fool stated, as if it was a matter of fact.
Sasuke's mind raced. His instincts told him this place was no ordinary illusion and clearly this person was no ordinary man.
His Sharingan, Rinnegan, even his keen senses were telling him nothing, as if all his abilities were muted here.
"What do you want from me?" Sasuke asked, gripping the hilt of his sword tighter. He didn't trust this 'Fool', but at the same time, he sensed no immediate danger.
The Fool calmly looked up and slightly past Sasuke. "It's not what I want from you," he said cryptically.
"It's what you seek. You're searching for answers, for power, for a way back to your world. And in this place, you may get what you are looking for."

Authors note:
Unfortunately this isn't a continuation of the fanfic. I simply had a couple of spare chapters I wanted to upload.
I am currently trying a new project, which is basically my own novel but I will be uploading it as a fanfic since honestly I write mainly for interaction with people.
I write to share ideas and run through scenarios with people, so I hope you will try my new project out.
It is called "Eternal Heir."
Do not subscribe to patreon for this fanfic anymore thanks.
