Chapter 46: Separation
The next morning, at the gate of the Waterflower City, Chu Wuyao stared at the figure of Xia Qianyue, who was holding Chu Xu in her hands and leaving the city with fast steps.
Xia Qianyue turned her head back to look at her and smiled happily.
"Sister Chu, don't forget to send me a message when you have some free time.", she shouted and trotted away with some reluctance.
In her hands, Chu Xu's lifeless, empty eyes stared blankly at the blue sky and he was contemplating his life choice's.
His whole body trembled and in his ears, the loud screams of his junior sister rung, reminding him or yesterday's night.
Unknowingly, a tear flowed to his cheek and then dropped to the ground, wetting the soil below.
Chu Wuyao looked at the two of them going away and it was only when they completely disappeared that the smile on her face dissipated.
She wasn't surprised by Xia Qianyue's departure.
After their "fight" yesterday, Xia Qianyue had already informed her that she was planning to take her senior brother back to the Sword Palace, in order to help him heal him sooner and make sure that there would be no hidden dangers.
With nothing else to do, she turned around and was planning to return to the mansion, when a hoarse voice reached her ears.
"Girl, please give me some money.", the hoarse voice said.
Turning her head, Chu Wuyao found that the owner of that voice was an old woman who was kneeling on the side of the road with a stone bowl placed in front of her.
Every time someone walked by, the old woman would beg for some money with a sad expression.
Glancing at her, Chu Wuyao was originally planning to ignore her, but she thought of something and took a gold coin out of her pocket, before throwing it into the stone bowl.
"Clink!"
By the time the gold coin had stopped spinning inside the bowl, Chu Wuyao had already disappeared.
It's not that Chu Wuyao suddenly became kind out of nowhere, but for a cultivator like her, gold coins were completely worthless.
As long as it didn't cost her anything, Chu Wuyao wasn't against helping other people.
Watching Chu Wuyao's leaving figure, the old woman looked at the gold coin inside the stone bowl with a stunned expression.
To her, this gold coin was enough for her to live for a year, if not even more.
After she looked around with a cautious expression to make sure that nobody witnessed what happened, she picked up the bowl and ran into a dark alley.
What the old woman didn't notice was that at a roof of the opposite building, a young woman with her brown hair tied into a ponytail watched her interaction with Chu Wuyao.
Xia Qianyue, who had come back for some unknown reason, stared at Chu Wuyao with a loving smile.
At this time, in her eyes, Chu Wuyao was not a human, but a dazzling golden, holy light.
It's as if Chu Wuyao was a kind Saint, or a God that had descended to the mortal world in order to bless the ignorant people.
"Sister Chu is so beautiful...", Xia Qianyue muttered and rubbed her legs together.
But when she looked at the old woman in the alley, her eyes turned completely cold.
In her eyes, the woman was a gray, murky light.
"Disgusting! Disgusting!", she repeated in a low voice and jumped off the roof, following right behind her.
Soon, she arrived behind the old woman and her murderous intent surged.
A green light appeared in her hand and she struck the old woman at the back of her head, crushing her skull neatly.
Watching the bloody corpse fall the the ground, Xia Qianyue remained expressionless.
"You want to ruin my bond with sister Chu! You are guilty! Guilty!", she cursed the old woman.
After she rummaged through the corpse, she finally found the gold token that Chu Wuyao had gifted the old woman and stared at it with a smile.
"Sister Chu. No one can ruin our love! No one!", her creepy words reverberated in the alley.
****
Chu Wuyao knew nothing about Xia Qianyue's actions, otherwise she would have become very concerned and wonder about her well-being.
Completely clueless, she returned to the mansion, planning to to wait for the person sent by the Original Desire Sect to arrive.
Using the red token given by the sect, Chu Wuyao had already informed the sect of what happened in the Waterflower City over the past few days.
Of course, she didn't say the whole truth, but just mentioned that the City Lord betrayed the sect and was then killed by two disciples of the Sword Palace.
As for her own involvement? Chu Wuyao didn't mention it at all.
She believed that the sect would never suspect her.
How could a little disciple at the 4th Level of Qi Accumulation have anything to do with the fight between a disciple of the Sword Palace and a Quasi-Shackles Realm cultivator?
It's not that Chu Wuyao hadn't considered just leaving this place and betraying the Original Desire Sect, but she finally decided against it.
Through her experience over the last week or so, she had already realized how difficult the life of casual cultivators was.
They struggled to get resources, begged for just a cultivation technique and had to constantly risk their life for a little hope.
Although the Original Desire Sect was cruel and didn't care about the disciples at all, as long as a disciple was talented enough and lucky, they would be able to get resources through the sect's missions or the competitions.
"Moreover, since the sect dares to let outer disciples leave the sect, they should have a way to prevent their betrayal.", Chu Wuyao thought secretly.
Either way, she wasn't planning to leave the sect.
"Crash!"
While Chu Wuyao was in deep thought, a blushing maid passed by her and bumped into her shoulder, causing the items that were in her hands to fall to the ground and shatter.
"Master, I'm-I'm sorry...", the maid profusely apologized.
Glancing at her worried expression, Chu Wuyao noticed that something was wrong and pinched her chin, staring into her eyes.
"It doesn't matter. Did my appearance distract you?", she lowered her head and breathed into the maid's ear, causing her cheeks to turn ever redder and her eyes to wander around in panic.
"Am I beautiful?", Chu Wuyao brushed the maid's chin with her fingers and whispered, only to receive a heavy nod from the maid.
"Master, you're the most beautiful person I've seen...", the maid muttered and her eyes sized up Chu Wuyao's body.
Her breathing became a little rough and feeling the soft hand on her chin, she had already imagined countless indescribable scenes in her mind.
"Slap! Bang!"
While the maid was busy fantasizing, Chu Wuyao's palm suddenly hit her face, causing her body to fly across the room and embed into the stone wall.
"Trash! How dare you covet my body?", Chu Wuyao snorted angrily.
"Have someone help her get up and give her 200 whips as a punishment.", she waved her hand and instructed another maid that had witnessed the whole event.
"Ye-Yes Master...", the maid nodded repeatedly, not daring to raise her head, afraid that she would also be hit.
Chu Wuyao didn't care about her little thoughts and after glancing one last time at the maid, she walked away.
