Chapter 171: The Cult (3)
However, even though I was fondling Reaper’s soft and warm belly as usual, it seemed like something was affecting its mood because it was not as happy as usual.
Is there something it’s worried about?
It didn’t enjoy the taste of its favorite pudding, but just mechanically stuffed it into its mouth. Moreover, it gave no reaction when I massaged its soft arms and legs.
If it were normal, it would have fallen asleep with a melted expression even when she massaged its arms and legs just a little!
Even its antennae, which always swayed from side to side, were dropping like a withered orchid.
The Black Reaper must have sensed it too, and it kidnapped the White Hungry Ghost with a worried expression.
Kyuuuuu-!
The White Hungry Ghost’s cry which echoed after it sensed its fate sounded pitiful.
Then, Reaper ate the White Hungry Ghost’s limbs and regained its spirit.
It stood up like a fresh antennae that had regained its strength, and then disappeared in the blink of an eye.Reaper was gone.
Now, it was me who became depressed.
I wanted to play with Reaper…
I held the cute White Hungry Ghost that had its limbs missing in my arms and collapsed on the bed.
Ah, I don’t want to work.
As I stared at the ceiling blankly, the Black Reaper came over with a worried expression and patted my cheek. It looked like it was looking at a seriously ill patient.
The Mini Reapers were so cute that they would fuss over me every time I looked a little gloomy.
I didn’t think they would react this way to other people, so I guess they liked me?
I snatched the Black Reaper which had a worried expression on its face and hugged it tightly.
Even though the Black Reaper looked mischievous and had shark teeth, its personality was similar to the cheerful golden reaper.
It seemed like a reverse charm, so It felt even cuter.
As if the Black Reaper heard my thoughts, its limbs melted and clung to my hand like a glove, and it laughed heartily.
It was a warm and soft Black Reaper glove.
With one hand, I enjoyed the soft texture of the Black Reaper that had turned into a glove, and with the other hand, I touched the white Hungry Ghost that the reaper left behind.
I wished Reaper would come back quickly this time.
*********When my vision brightened again after I teleported, all I could see was the vast sky. A sea of clouds spread out below me, and the sun was burning brightly above me.
Ah, it’s the sky…
I teleported to the Orange Reaper, so I began to freefall from the vast sky.
The Orange Reaper was surprised to see me suddenly appear and quickly grabbed my hand, but it was impossible for the Orange Reaper to pull me with its strength.
Am I going to crash into the ground with it?
Just as I was thinking this, something soft supported me and lifted me into the air.
It was a Cloud Whale made of cotton candy.
At that moment, I calmed the Orange Reaper which looked so startled.
There, there. It’s okay.
I picked up the Orange Reaper fur ball in my hand and slowly stroked it.
Except for the Black Reaper, all the mini reapers lacked strength. Was it because I have weak muscles?
The Black Reapers could combine and transform into a giant Black Reaper, so it seemed like it could easily lift me.
The Cloud Whale slowly moved me and the Orange Reaper to the surface, then flew back up into the sky.
I really wanted to fly…
I want to be a flying Angel Reaper with wings on my back, but I guess no matter how many times I kill bird-type Objects, I won’t grow wings.
Plop-! Plop-!
While thinking about those things, I slowly walked to where I could feel the presence of the Blue Reapers. In the meantime, the Orange Reaper followed me with an excited expression.
Now that I think about it, I hadn’t really been around the new kids much. I picked up the Orange Reaper who seemed happy to come out with me and placed it on my head.
Seemingly liking my antennae, I felt it quickly put it into its fur ball and hug it tightly.
As I got closer to the Blue Reapers, I saw a building that was oozing with horrible emotions.
Was that cult, a cult that tortured people?
I climbed up the nearby buildings and looked around, then I saw the Blue Reapers gathered on the roof of the building where pain and despair were oozing out like crazy.
The humans are in pain!
What should we do?
It seemed like they were having that kind of conversation.
Then, with a determined expression, they started to go down into the building.
It was the beginning of an adventure to save one of the Blue Reapers’ precious human and the suffering people.
After a little while, I started to follow the Blue Reapers in Phantom Form.
*********While the Golden Reaper was drawing the attention of the association staff who were wandering around the town, Rachel was able to sneak into her parents’ house.
However, the house was dark and empty.
Even though it seemed like her father would get up from the rocking chair in the yard and greet her at any moment, and her mother would open the front door and appear, while her brother in a wheelchair would greet her brightly inside the house, the house she entered was lonely and cold.
“There should be some clue left.”
Rachel made a small promise and slowly started to walk around the deserted house.
In fact, leaving it to the association might have been the right answer. But Rachel didn’t want to just sit in the corner of the room and wait. After all, she was worried. The association was excellent, but it wasn’t perfect enough to avoid any casualties. So, if there was even a slight chance of saving her family, she didn’t want to give up.
She was able to walk around the house relying on the faint light of the Golden Reaper that had returned. Thanks to that, she was able to find a letter from a cult called the ‘Eye Cult’.
The leader was immortal, with eternal life. The back of the leaflet had a map and location marked with the phrases she had heard a lot, such as the blind regaining their eyesight and the crippled walking again.
“I found it.”
Rachel, who was excited to find a clue, expressed her joy in a small voice. The Golden Reaper also jumped up and down in joy just like her.
Then, Rachel put the Golden Reaper in her bosom to prevent the light from leaking out and slowly headed out of the village. Perhaps because the Golden Reaper was running around as if shouting ‘I’m here!’ She saw heavily armed vehicles and people starting to arrive.
Fortunately, since the scene was quite chaotic due to the many new arrivals, Rachel was able to slowly escape through the forest near the village.
“Let’s go quickly. My family might be in danger.”
Judging by the association’s quick response, this cult seemed unusual.
Rachel tried to suppress her worries and got in her car and headed to the location marked on the map.
*********The Blue Reapers slowly passed through the empty building and began to slowly advance through the hidden cave. Even though it was a completely hidden cave entrance, the Blue Reapers could easily find the entrance because of the intense emotions flowing out.
The more they went in, the stronger the emotions they felt became. Because of that Blue Reapers also became sadder and sadder.
Why are they tormenting humans?
I hate them.
A Blue Reaper slowly flew on its broom, then fell from the air because it was surprised.
Then it looked around with a bewildered expression.
There were roughly made prison cells on both sides of the cave hallway.
Inside, people whose bones were not fully healed were lying around, groaning in pain.
< Don't be sick. Please! >
< Heal all the wounds. Please! >
The Blue Reaper began to treat people while continuously shedding tears as if it was pouring out all the liquid that made up its body. Then, the Blue Reaper who had lost its precious human, staggered deeper into the cave with a particularly pale expression.
As the strings appeared and wove through the air, a refreshing scent began to waft through the stuffy cave, and the security members who had fainted opened her eyes.
The Blue Reaper is here.
The guard gritted her teeth and began crawling on the floor toward the place where the Blue Reaper’s refreshing scent could be felt from.
The prison was not locked. They probably thought that she couldn’t escape since her entire body’s bones were shattered. She could have just laid down and waited, but the guard gritted her teeth and crawled.
After all, she wanted the Blue Reaper to find her as soon as possible.
Just as she hoped, she crawled while sweating profusely, and at the end, she could see the Blue Reaper.
The Blue Reaper was so surprised to see the precious human that it clung to her head and cried.
< Don't be sick. Please! >
< Don’t do this again. Please! >
“It’s okay. I’ll get better after a little rest. Don’t cry.”
The staff comforted the Blue Reaper with a voice that was hoarse from yelling so much. She wanted to pat him, but her hands wouldn’t move properly.
The Blue Reaper wailed and lightly tapped its fist on the top of his head. It wanted to hit her hard to tell her not to do this kind of thing again, but it decided to do it as lightly as possible because it was afraid that she would be hurt.
Thanks to the Blue Reaper’s magic, the staff slowly extended her now functioning hand and patted it.
She gently patted the blue reaper’s head.
Then, the Blue Reaper cried even harder, as if it was extremely sad.
*********I watched the Blue Reaper wailing while hiding in the mud wall using my phantom form.
The Orange Reaper also covered its hair in mud to disguise itself before sticking to the ceiling and pretending to be a mud wall.
Fortunately, nothing dangerous had happened so far.
Just when I was thinking, ‘Should I return now?’, a creepy guy appeared.
He looked like a human, but he wasn’t human.
He looked like an Object, but something was different.
The middle-aged man in fancy clothes who had a sad expression on his face spread his both hands to the side with exaggerated gestures.
“Pain is a blessing, and it’s the path to eternal life.”
At the sudden appearance of the man’s voice, the Blue Reaper stood guard as if guarding the security room staff and looked at the man with a tense expression.
The Blue Reaper instantly realized that the middle-aged man was not human, but a being who had been harassing a human he was attached to.
A being who isn’t even human and harasses humans?
He was the enemy that the Mini Reapers hated the most.
< Ten needles of water! Appear! >
Ten needles made of water quickly extended toward the middle-aged man.
“Hmph!”
However, the man swung his hand with a shout and knocked all the needles away.
I mentally applauded his action which seemed like a power show.
That water needle should at least have the same power as an arrow, but he blocked it with his bare hands.
However, what awaited the man who confidently deflected the water needle were ten Blue Reapers and a thousand water needles.
< Thousand water needles! >
The Blue Reapers confidently swung their broom and shot the needles.
“Hmph!”
The man let out another shout and waved his arms in a graceful motion in front of the water needles flying without fail.
His fists clenched in a blur as if he had lost all his strength, and his hands flowed like water.
Could he block that too?
I watched the result with half worry and half anticipation.
However, the man’s entire body was impaled by the water needles like a hedgehog, and he became a corpse.
