The then 10 year old Shin Nari did not fully understand what transpired between her mother and the fortune teller but even at such young age she felt a sharp pain in her chest as she watched helplessly at her crying mother.
SOBBING
"Nari-ah you heard what she said, you can't have a boyfriend when you grow up. Sniffing Why did this happen to me! Was it because of the things I had done before?! Nari-ah mother is sorry for putting you in this difficult situation. Blame me! You can curse me for being such a terrible mother, I robbed you of your father! This is my punishment for giving birth to you out of wedlock! Our lineage has being erased because of ME! What have I done!"
Tears continued to rain down from Shin Eun-Ae as eyes became reddened from the endless pool of moisture that flowed seamlessly.
Young Shin Nari tightly held on to her mother as she too soon became infected by her mother's crys and began to wail herself.
"Tsk! Pitiful souls."
The fortune teller shook her head in pity at the misfortune of her client and child.
