Chapter 30
Eden’s lips moved. The lamp’s light flickered across his profile.
Eden softly kissed my lips. I took a sharp breath.
“So, you kept the home safe today.”
Eden said, his voice blending with the moonlight.
“Uh, yes.”
“Let’s go inside. I have much to do tonight before I leave tomorrow.”
“What kind of things?”
“To keep reminding your body so it won’t forget me. That way, when I return, you’ll be prepared.”
Eden said as he led the way.
“But what about that pot? Who sent it?”
“Throw it away tomorrow. It was sent by someone with bad intentions.”
Eden pulled me into the bedroom and laid me down on the bed. I wanted to ask more questions but…
“Ah, uh…”
As Eden’s lips and hands moved from my collarbone to my waist, my mind went blank.
“Wait, we did this every day… and I still need time to prepare…”
Of course, we didn’t go all the way. We always stopped midway, but it was close enough.
“Do you remember how many moles are on your body?”
“On my body?”
How many?
I don’t have many moles. My skin is relatively smooth and even-toned.
But I do have a small mole behind my knee and another near my stomach. And maybe one on my back?
“Three or four?”
“There are more.”
Eden said, pressing his lips to my chest and looking up at me.
His faintly glowing red eyes sent a sharp pain to my heart.
“Let’s count them all tonight.”
That night,
It turned out there was a tiny mole between my thighs, so small you’d miss it without a thorough search.

-From now on, do not touch any unidentified packages that come to the house. Wait until I return to open them.
The next morning. I woke up exhausted and found a note Eden had left on the table.
“Sigh…”
Just one week.
A week that shook my body and mind.
‘Don’t be sad that he’s gone. Don’t feel lonely.’
A part of me, Yun Sihyeon, was always the most rational person.
But I had things to do.
That afternoon, I headed to the Imperial Bank and confidently presented my bankbook.
“I’d like to withdraw some money.”
And the money I received was 500 gold coins.

“Miss, why did you come without notice?”
When I went to the Andwerp house, the lady of the house, who was sewing in the kitchen, stood up abruptly.
“Welcome. How come you’ve gotten so thin! It’s good you came before dinner.”
The Andwerp lady had a very warm demeanor.
“How have you been? How’s Lydia?”
“Yousuf isn’t doing well, so she’s taking care of him.”
The lady’s face darkened quickly.
“Is he struggling a lot?”
“Yes, but don’t worry. We’ve applied to the temple’s charity hospital as I mentioned. Sending Yousuf far away is upsetting, but it’s better than suffering here without proper treatment.”
I nodded cautiously to her.
The last time I visited, the Andwerp family was debating Yousuf’s situation.
There was a charity hospital for children with unknown diseases, run by one of the temple branches in the provinces. But it was very far away.
Yousuf had been accepted for the hospital’s application process, but the family was still unsure whether to send him.
The fear of sending a sick, young child far away and possibly losing him was considerable.
“Is he still having nightmares?”
“Yes. Lately, he’s been having bad dreams. He says he dreams of the whole world turning green and demons chasing him.”
If it were just simple nightmares, it would be one thing. But after these dreams, Yousuf would have bruises all over his body and suffer for days.
‘There was no such illness in Yun Sihyeon’s world. It must be incredibly painful.’
I knocked on Yousuf’s door and entered.
“Bryn.”
Yousuf smiled weakly at me.
“I missed you, Bryn.”
I patted Yousuf’s head.
“Yousuf, would you like to go to the charity hospital?”
“Charity hospital?”
“You’ve heard of it. It’s a big charity hospital far away. They have a large garden and a playground for children. Would you like to go there for treatment?”
“Yes, I know. I want to go.”
“Why?”
“Because my family keeps seeing me in pain here. If I’m not getting better here or there, I’d rather be somewhere else where they don’t have to worry about me.”
“But if you could stay here without pain and be with your family, would you like that?”
“Of course. Yes. Miss…”
I smiled.
“I’ll make that wish come true.”
***
“Mrs. Andwerp, please take this.”
I handed over all the gold coins I withdrew.
It was equivalent to about 50 million won in my previous life.
The Andwerp family looked at each other.
“Miss, this is…”
“With this money, you won’t have to worry about Yousuf’s medicine for several years, right?”
Mrs. Andwerp dropped her sewing, and Lydia’s mouth was wide open.
“No, Miss. This is too much. You’ve already paid off our debts!”
“It’s not a free gift.”
I looked at Mrs. Andwerp.
“Not free? Then what?”
Mrs. Andwerp swallowed nervously.
“Madam, please give me your daughter.”
Pfft.
Celine, standing at the kitchen door, spit out the milk she was drinking.
“Pardon?”
***
“So, I’d like you to focus on your accounting studies and help me with my work after you graduate. Stop all the side jobs you’re doing to earn Yousuf’s medicine money. Help me in your spare time.”
“Of course, even without the money, I’d do it!”
Lydia raised her voice.
“It’s our family’s joy to work for you, Miss. But…”
“Lydia, I admire your talent. When I was at the monastery, I did nothing day by day. But you secretly enrolled in a vocational school despite your status.”
“……”
“Your courage inspired me greatly. You will do great things in the future.”
Lydia swallowed hard.
“Lydia, will you be my person?”
“Wow, that’s so cool.”
Celine, who was peeking, covered her mouth. Lydia still looked dazed.
“I don’t understand everything, but I’ll be with you forever, Miss.”
I smiled broadly.
“Good, there’s a lot you’ll have to do for me.”
I grinned. Lydia, you don’t realize this is a great deal for you, do you?
Yun Sihyeon was strict with herself and equally so with her subordinates.
‘Yes, she was known as a boss who assigned a lot of work.’
But she also offered opportunities for personal development, tuition support, and huge bonuses and salary increases. That distinguished her from tyrannical bosses.
‘There’s much to do while Eden is on this trip.’
I need to lay the foundation for the future.

That day, Mrs. Andwerp prepared so much food I thought my belly would burst. She was moved to tears several times.
As I was about to leave, Celine stopped me.
“Miss!”
“What is it, Celine?”
Celine’s face turned red, and she hesitated.
“Thank you so much for paying for my brother’s treatment. He had a bad feeling about that charity hospital. He kept having nightmares about it.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Thank you for keeping our family together. I don’t have many skills, but I’ll find a job and repay the money someday. Even a little.”
It was the first time I saw Celine speak so much. She was even looking me in the eye.
“Celine, can I see your hand?”
“…Yes.”
Celine held out her hand, looking confused.
I took her hand.
“Celine, you’re not without talent. You made my hair look so beautiful. I think you have something only you can do.”
“…Me?”
“Yes, definitely.”
I nodded.
“Celine, have you ever thought about studying fashion design?”
I smiled broadly.
