Sauron's road of redemption

Chapter 17: back in middle earth

While Mairon was sorting out his new family in Valyria, the orcs in middle earth were hard at work for him.

Deep in the bellows of Moria, grey mountain goblin blacksmiths were at work.

They were captured by the expanding Moria Orcs.

Forced to learn the smithing techniques left behind by Sauron to enhance the orcs power.

Metal hit metal, and heat seared their skin.

Curses and growls were heard intermited by whipping.

In the spacious halls of Moria, stood a well supplied army.

Including war machines and trolls.

Their armour just a bit worse than that of a dwarfen standard issued armour.

This shows Saurons great craftsmanship, to be able to let goblins craft good armour is a achievement on itself.

And they could learn it just by getting the instructions read to them, and produce decent armour en mass.

They were practicing war formations, inside and readying themselves for the coming wars.

In a different part of Moria the dungeon was filled with different types of people and elves.

Even some hobbits and dwarves were present.

Abandon walked past these cells.

All captured by his hunting parties all still alive.

They managed to capture some elves who had not left for the west.

Some from rivendell some from the mirkwood and some traveling around the continent.

But most had left middle earth.

As Abandon reached the last cell he stopped.

Inside were no prisoner's, no here lay two giants.

The body's of both beorn the skinwalker and durin's bane.

Durin's bane was still smoldering bringing a warm glow.

A wound visible around his heart, inflicted by the gray wizard.

There was not much left of beorn, he had died many years ago of old age.

Luckily he was buried high in the mountains, preserving his flesh as a mummy.

Abandon stood before these great beasts, warriors of old.

"Oh how the mighty have fallen."

He looked down on their corpses.

Envy and jealousy aparant in his eyes.

While they may have died, they were powerful foes capable of bringing dread simply by hearing their names.

Something Abandon could not say about himself.

Even his father was feared more than him, years after his death.

"Oroen you did good finding their corpses."

"Go inform my daughter to return to Moria."

'hopefully she catches the lord's interest.'

'this is the best I can do for you, at least this ensures that your future will be more secure than ours.'

Abandon sighs one of his greatest worries is his daughter.

She inherited his warlike ways and strength but her mother's beauty.

Best of both worlds but it's far from safe.

The first target for both humans and elves is the elven looking beauty leading a pack of orcs.

Abandon had changed after his father died, thinking over everything that he had done.

First he had to take control the Moria Orcs, defeat all challengers then firmly grasp power in his hands.

When doing this he started questioning what he did it all for.

He had no one, his father saw his children as his tools.

He would not be the same he would care for his children.

He himself was the offspring of a human woman, his father captured and raped.

She got killed and eaten shortly after his birth.

But Abandon was not the same as other orcs.

When he found out about what happens to his mother he was both disgusted and raging beyond believe.

As the bloodline of the Gundabad orcs thinned so did the hold of Morgoth over their will.

And Abandon was one of the first generation with full free will.

He was still influenced by the desire for war and violence.

But he lacked the desire for cruelty and the pleasure other orcs got from acts like torture.

This was why he could ignore Saurons call to go to Mordor for the war against Minas Tirith.

After taking over the throne of Moria Abandon started searching for a mate.

Until one day a elf was captured and brought before him.

It was love at first sight, well for him at least.

It took him 3 full years of Stockholm syndrome to get her to agree to marriage.

Most Orcs can't mate with elves, but the problem lay mostly in the spiritual aspect not biological.

Abandon's ancestors were both the tortured spirits of elves and humans.

Making him biologically comparable to both humans and elves.

So as a half orc he was able to have offspring with elves, and so his daughter came to be.

It was the greatest moment in his life, but now years later she has become his greatest worry.

She inherited her mother's immortality, and was more elf than Orc, or human.

But had greater strength and cunning than elves.

It was good that her mother was around to keep her under the thumb, otherwise she would have gone to war with the humans already.

He was with his hands on his bald scalp about her.

He would not be around forever to keep her safe.

He may have a longer lifespan than most mortal races, but he wasn't immortal.

So he decided to sent her to his lord.

At least than she has someone to keep her safe when he was no longer around.

Her mother may stay with her but she isn't some warlord or high standing elf.

It is more likely that she has to protect her mother, than that her mother could protect her.

But that is for another time, everything is ready and chests full of mithril stood ready in the throne room.

Abandon moved back from the dungeon and walked to his throne before sitting down.

Now he waited until the pale Lord returned.

Waiting until he could act on his ambition's.

Ready to ..'

"Hey Pops!"

"I'm back!"

Shouted a elf on a giant white warg.

She had a big bone bow on her back, and a elven sword on her waist.

Behind her walked 5 dwarves, bound to her saddle with rope.

Surrounding her, was a hunting squad of orcs riding their own Wargs.

When the commotion was heard a mature woman walked out from one of the rooms, designated for the ruling family.

"Hey honey"

She said before planting a kiss on Abandon's cheek.

"I could hear our daughter is back."

"Yes, it's hard to miss with that kind of voice."
