Sakura Haruno is Usefull

Chapter 114: Sixty-Forty, He’s Sixty

White mist-like breaths escaped from the mouth and nose of the black-haired boy as he struggled to keep his eyes open, focusing on the girl standing not far ahead. The hand holding his sword trembled slightly after their brief, close-range clash—it felt as though he could barely maintain his grip.

Sasuke knew he wasn't a match for the girl in front of him. He had always known.

From childhood, Sakura had always been the most outstanding among their peers.

Graduating from the ninja academy in just two years had already left the rest of their generation far behind.

When she reappeared in Sasuke's line of sight, she was already his teammate.

But how could Sasuke believe that she hadn't improved at all from the age of eight to twelve?

It wasn't until they encountered Orochimaru in the Forest of Death that Sasuke finally understood.

At that moment, it all became clear.

Sakura was undoubtedly assigned to Team 7 as part of some larger plan, hiding her true capabilities to protect him—the last surviving Uchiha.

Still, how could he continue to hide behind a girl?

Now was the time for Sasuke to prove himself to Sakura.

He was strong too!

Blue-white lightning flickered and crackled around the ninja sword in Sasuke's hand, the sharp sound piercing the air.

The sword he wielded was crafted from the same material as the knuckle blade he had given to Sakura.

Both were forged from the remnants of the Executioner's Blade and Uchiha clan's chakra metal by the ninja cats.

As a result, their chakra conductivity was unparalleled.

Sakura beckoned to him with a crooked finger, signaling him to bring it on.

The black-haired boy pressed his lips together, his gaze serious.

He wouldn't allow himself to be provoked by her gesture.

From start to finish, Sasuke maintained a calm demeanor. Perhaps the only time he lost control was when faced with Itachi.

Moving as swiftly as the wind, Sasuke struck like lightning. In a flash, he was in front of Sakura, the sound of crackling thunder accompanying his rapid movements.

Without hesitation, the blade in his hand aimed straight for Sakura's face.

But just as it seemed the blade would hit, Sasuke instinctively shifted its path to the side.

Sakura slightly leaned back and twisted her body, narrowly avoiding the strike. Yet Sasuke's assault was far from over—he maintained his speed, swinging his blade relentlessly at the girl.

The electrified blade slashed forward with precision, but Sakura evaded every attack. Sasuke couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu.

It was as if he had experienced this exact moment before.

Shaking off the thought, he kept up his rapid attacks, pushing Sakura step by step toward the edge of the clearing.

Dodging Sasuke's unrelenting strikes, Sakura felt a twinge of admiration.

As expected of the second male lead, Sasuke had grown significantly stronger.

Before graduating from the academy, he was just a slightly above-average genin.

But in such a short time, he had nearly reached the level of a special jonin.

This war was clearly honing him like a whetstone, and Sakura believed he would grow even faster.

Sasuke's current strength wasn't dependent on the Sharingan alone.

While it was undeniable that the Sharingan provided unparalleled dynamic vision, it was ultimately a supportive tool.

His mastery of Lightning Release and swordsmanship alone was enough to outmatch most of his peers.

Even in the original story, though his Taka team had been crushed by Killer Bee, Sasuke was still young then. Killer Bee was much older and more experienced.

If they were the same age, Sasuke could've easily pinned Killer Bee down and made him rap on the ground.

Feeling the hard surface of a tree trunk against her back, Sakura realized she had been cornered to the edge of the clearing.

Seeing this, Sasuke's lips curved into a smirk as his blade shot toward Sakura's shoulder...

...but veered upward at the last moment.

Sakura, who had remained mostly passive, suddenly made her move. In an instant, her pale hand shot forward, gripping Sasuke's sword hand with lightning speed.

Without hesitation, Sasuke used his free hand to reach for a kunai hidden behind Sakura's waist and swung it upward.

Sakura twisted her body and bent down, evading the strike effortlessly. At the same time, she hooked her foot around Sasuke's ankle, causing his expression to tighten.

He had already experienced her monstrous strength before. Reacting instinctively, he lifted his foot to avoid the sweep aimed at disrupting his balance.

But Sakura smirked triumphantly—her kick wasn't stopping there. Her foot swung toward his other leg, catching him off guard.

Sasuke's expression turned helpless as he realized his fate.

With his other leg hooked, he lost his balance and tumbled ungracefully to the ground.

Before he could react, Sakura flicked her finger against his hand, instantly numbing his arm and causing the kunai to fall from his grip.

Snatching the falling kunai out of midair, Sakura pointed it directly at Sasuke's face just as he was about to get up.

"Sorry, I win," she said, raising an eyebrow and smiling at him.

Sitting in the snow, Sasuke looked at her with a mix of frustration and resignation. "I lost," he admitted quietly.

Sakura retracted the kunai and extended a hand toward him.

Sasuke stared at her hand for a moment before a faint, almost imperceptible smile appeared on his lips. He grasped her hand, letting her pull him to his feet.

Feeling the irritation she had harbored from Jiraiya dissipate, Sakura patted Sasuke on the shoulder. "You've already become really strong, Sasuke," she said.

"Right now, even Lee might not be your match," she added.

"Maybe it's a fifty-fifty?"

Lee?

Sasuke's mind flashed to the green-clad, bowl-cut boy who had boldly confessed to Sakura the first time they met.

Was that guy really so highly regarded in Sakura's eyes?

Sasuke's expression turned noticeably colder, and he spoke as if unintentionally, "Is Rock Lee really that strong?"

"Honestly, yes," Sakura replied with a nod.

"If you hadn't learned White Fang's sword techniques from Kakashi, even with the Chidori, you wouldn't have stood a chance against him."

"And now?" Sasuke asked instinctively.

Tilting her head thoughtfully, Sakura hesitated before finally responding, "Sixty-forty. He's sixty."

Sasuke pursed his lips, gripping his sword tightly as he quietly muttered, "I understand."
