A brief look into the idyllic memories of the residents of the Tremaine estate, now that all the suspense was over and done with…

It was a beautiful summer morning at the Tremaine estate – the birds were chirping happily and the chateau's newly refurbished stables were bursting with activity, the new horses chewing at the bit to be let free so that they could gallop freely on the grounds. They also wanted to put Spirit in his place since that horse was a little too smug about not being corralled like the other horses and how much of a better physical specimen he was than his fellows.

Naruto had just finished his daily duties around the chateau and since the Prince was having some quality time with Anastasia and Drizella, he figured that he could do the same – have a lazy day with Snow, Grimhilde, Ella and Madonna. "Of course, I'll need the proper attire for such an occasion. Who knows – I might even tempt Naruto and we can take each other's purity today!" "Why isn't that just a peculiar turn of events? I was just about to invite you on a picnic as well – it seems as though you have no appointments at the castle. I wonder if the other ladies are free for a little outing today?" Snow said, quickly turning to face him, making sure to hide the dress in her hands behind her back, not wanting to spoil the surprise.

"Well, I think Ella and Grimhilde are studying the fairy's wand – something about it talking to Ella in her sleep and giving her subliminal messages on how to control it... Madonna is at the castle with her daughters, chaperoning their date with the Prince." He said as Snow's eyes twinkled in hidden joy.

'Yes! I was only saying that to be nice but I really would like Naruto and I to have some quality time together today!' Snow thought in joy, nearly skipping on the spot, so great was her exultation.

Timeskip, somewhere in the forest, early afternoon…

The picnic was a quaint affair – seeing as the only people around for miles around were Naruto and Snow, they could finally relax. It was almost like Naruto was her bodyguard again and she was a little princess back in her old kingdom.

"Ah Naruto~ this brings back so many fond memories! Remember how you used to get us in trouble when we were younger? I think we gave my father grey hairs with how much he used to worry about the type of shenanigans we'd get involved in…" Snow said in a dreamy tone as she leaned against Naruto's chest, inwardly relishing in its broad, pliant and warm musculature, her eyes closed.

"Yeah – I remember that we used to prank the castle guards together. I remember that they couldn't do anything to you as royalty but I sure enjoyed annoying the crap out those people!" He said, chuckling heartily at certain, more personal memories he had of those times.

I mean you redeemed my step mother and revealed that the Mirror was evil! You even ended up making the manipulative fairy show her true colors – what makes you do these crazy things? Naruto looked surprised at Snow's outburst for a second before laughing a little at her cute pouty look. He then put a hand on Snow's cheek, his index finger stroking her full cheeks as she blushed at his warm loving expression.

"I don't think you understand. I don't think about these things – I love you Snow. More than you could ever know. Your pure heart has ensnared mine and like all things I do, I love fiercely. I want you to be happy and free to do anything you want – free of destiny and free of worry." Naruto said, noticing Snow's eyes get a little teary at his passionate speech.

"This is the beautiful burden I bear – the flower of love in my breast blooms for you Snow, and now it has become a verdant garden, allowing others into our family. Freedom is the luxury of choice – of agency. That's something I want to always be able to give you, as your beloved!" Naruto said, his eyes hardening, nigh on glowing – so strong was his conviction.
