Run Away, This Civilization Is Cheating!

Chapter 381: Variable_2

Only being able to say, this is the greatest disadvantage faced when dealing with Trial Civilizations.

You simply don't know what kind of trump cards the other side is holding.

There will always be some unexpected events that have a major impact on the situation.

However, the reverse is also true; the Contract Spirit Civilization couldn't entirely fathom the trump cards of Human Civilization.

"We could initiate a strategic retreat first to buy some time," someone suggested. "With our mobility, we could completely withdraw within four days, leaving behind a vast and empty region with negligible losses."

Yes, the retreat capability of Human Civilization was based partly on Shen Hao's powerful Space Ability and partly on the continuously accumulated transportation capability.

The current Human Civilization had even begun mass production of high-quality "Pocket World Treasures."

There was also no shortage of "Pocket World Cards."

Space transportation capability was a major feature of the Extraordinary Path of Human Civilization, and this powerful mobility provided a strategic depth much greater than that of the Contract Spirit Civilization.

In plain terms, Human Civilization wasn't in a hurry; it was the other side that was eager to engage in battle.

This was where Human Civilization's confidence in achieving a complete victory resided.

After growing stronger, they could crush the opposition with an even more formidable stance, which would also be a complete victory!

The atmosphere at the meeting relaxed slightly, and soon, a more detailed discussion ensued.

At the same time, intelligence from the front lines kept coming in.

The advantages of victories on the Intelligence Front had gradually begun to show; with Control over the Contract Spirit Civilization's reconnaissance capabilities, Feng Ping was virtually entering an unguarded territory.

He had even directly infiltrated the proximity of the military High-level Command of the other side.

Despite the Contract Spirit Civilization's use of some crude Prevention methods, such as decentralized authorities or communication through specialized codes,

A vast amount of intelligence was still under the Control of Human Civilization,

Including the degree of their binding over other Trial Civilizations and their general strategic layout.

This was sufficient.

The core strategy of the Contract Spirit Civilization was also crystal clear; they wanted a quick decision, rapidly escalating the battle situation to a white-hot stage, using their advantage in the number of Legions to continuously squeeze the front lines of Human Civilization.

This strategy was evidently very correct.

It was also the one they hoped for the most.

Confronted with such an offensive plan, the High-level of Human Civilization naturally chose a strategic retreat.

However, with a clear understanding of the troop deployments on the front lines, the difficulty of Human Civilization's retreat wasn't great.

Except for some areas that had already been practically swept clean, there would be no significant losses.

As for the idea of pushing Human Civilization back near their Mother Planet to restrict their ability to earn points and grow, that was a bit too optimistic.

The idea was good, but just Shen Hao alone was enough to break through other battlefields.

"The battle plan has been essentially confirmed."

"In the initial phase, we'll prioritize retreat. Is there a concern with civilian morale and spirit?"

"No concern. Our greatest strength is our potential, which is a common awareness among everyone. A tactical retreat won't hurt morale or confidence."

"We still need to strengthen our intelligence reconnaissance on the front lines to prevent the opponent from coming up with unexpected intelligence."

"Indeed, especially those Contractual methods. If we can find a way to release them and make the three Civilizations turn, we may not even need to retreat."

"The opportunity is ours. As long as we're cautious, it's an invincible position."

"..."

The strategic commander and various departments have been utterly exhausted during this period, but they are still very satisfied with the results.

Indeed, the Contracted Spirit Civilization presents the most formidable challenge Human Civilization has faced among the Trial Civilizations, especially after it gained control over the other three civilizations. The overt military strength is almost five times that of Human Civilization!

Merely relying on the Thunder Fire Civilization and Casey Civilization is not enough to offset such pressure.

Yet, even in such a situation, Human Civilization still has enough confidence to secure a final victory in this war.

And to do so with the smallest sacrifice, yet achieving the greatest success.

Once the plan was essentially confirmed, it was also sent to Shen Hao for his final review.

There wasn't much for Shen Hao to do.

First and foremost was to launch an overwhelming attack against the enemy's top forces at the start, significantly demoralizing them. Then, during the retreat, he would bless the entire Legion to increase the efficiency of the retreat and their ability to conduct small-scale defensive operations and interfere with the enemy's operations.

Shen Hao could find no fault with the plan.

The retreat phase, the defensive phase, the counter-attack phase, every procedure was clear and explicit.

However, everyone understood that a plan was just a plan, and the uncertainties within the Civilization Trial were immense.

For instance, intelligence personnel had reported the observational stances of the third and fourth civilizations.

Simply observatory stances.

They were not even particularly secretive about their surveillance; even if their Observation agents were captured, they would swiftly send a second one. Furthermore, both had already started to retreat to their Mother Planets, contracting their defenses, very tacitly seeking to stay out of the fray.

And they really might succeed.

The strength of these two civilizations was by no means weak, especially the third civilization, whose overt Legion power nearly reached half that of the Contracted Spirit Civilization. If the second and third united, neither Human Civilization nor Contracted Spirit Civilization would find it easy to challenge them.

After all, one needed only to deal with Human Civilization to secure first place, while the other need only fend off the early attacks to remain in first place!

Moreover, they must take into account the Trial itself, preserving enough of their strength for the Trial Civilizations and not risk it all.

One could say that the potential variables these two civilizations might introduce must be considered, but there was little to do about it in the short term.

In addition, another significant uncertainty was the Trial itself.

This was what Shen Hao was most closely observing.

Coincidentally, in the past few days, he had clearly observed some bizarre demons' movements through the Small Map.

After Shen Hao had cleared the area to secure the top ranking for Human Civilization, all the weird demons across a dozen or so areas, in fact nearly dozens of areas, had fled with their core subordinates. Initially, within the thirty-eight areas that Shen Hao had opened up, only six Area Controllers remained.

But now, this number had increased to twelve.

The sixth one that had appeared was incredibly powerful.

At least judging by the points indicated, each of them could be compared to the Prison Flame God in power.

If that were all there was, it would be trivial, as neither Shen Hao nor the Holy Spirit of the Contracted Spirit Civilization would take mere six Prison Flame Gods seriously. Their power was at least on par with a regular entity from the Late Sixth Stage.

However, such a number of formidable weird demons appearing at the same time deserved serious consideration.

It is a consensus among all Trial Civilizations that powerful forces must exist amongst the weird demons, a fact now confirmed by current intelligence findings.

But for the time being, this threat did not pose an imminent danger.

But now...

"Eliminating over a dozen Area Controllers in one fell swoop is a significant loss for the weird demons. Attracting the attention of more powerful Night Forces is an expected outcome," Shen Hao gazed intently at the areas where these weird demons were located, his eyes narrowing in thought, "But whether this intelligence can be exploited is yet to be seen."
