Chapter 214: Night Liberators Suspicion
The third round was dismissed, and the participants returned to their group base. Some returned in happiness, some in disappointment, and some in sadness. All of them were based on the results they had gotten in today's matches.
For the Shadow Rulers, luck was with them all. Lewis and Karen made it all the way to the semi-finals, indirectly qualifying them for the final qualifying round.
Despite having qualified, the next step was the battle for the best draw pot. The first-place qualifiers would be placed in the first pot. The second-place qualifiers would be in the second pot, the third-place qualifiers would be in the third pot, then the fourth to sixth-place qualifiers would be in the fourth pot, and the seventh to tenth-place qualifiers would be in the last pot.
Pots 1 and 2 are the best pots for the draw, pots 3 and 4 are arguably betting a lot on luck, while the fifth pot is the weakest and least favored.
One could be placed in a group full of participants from the Intermediate rank group, or someone from the first pot could be placed in a group full of participants from the low rank group.
First place in the pre-qualification round was important, not to be overlooked. That's what Aaron told both Lewis and Karen.
However, due to Lewis' ability, Aaron would not assign the task to him, but to Karen. It would be advantageous for her if she could come out on top of the pre-qualifiers and enter as a participant in the first pot. Explore hidden tales at My Virtual Library Empire
"We'll discuss strategies about this later, you'd better head back to the base first," Aaron ordered.
"Alright. We'll take our leave," stated Lewis, walking off with the rest of the Shadow Rulers.
Aaron was still outside the Dimension Justice arena building, standing in the company of Aerith, Eloise, and Emily.
Eloise recognized that the Shadow Rulers had the potential to be a group that shook up the city, especially about their awesomeness and ability in group tournaments.
Lewis would be the new center of attention for everyone. He would be admired, favored, and even targeted by many people with certain intentions. It was a risk that had to be accepted when the leader of a viral group went public.
Eloise would again observe the Shadow Ruler's progress, then decide what she would do with the group after the tournament was over. It was done in accordance with what had been agreed upon earlier, between Eloise and Aaron.
"I think their development will be much better than it is now," revealed Eloise, speaking to Aaron.
"Of course. They know what they're doing," Aaron explained.
"As per our agreement. When are you going to start raiding the floor?" asked Eloise.
Aaron was silent for a moment, then occasionally glanced at Eloise, Emily, and the Lilith Arena. The Lilith Arena was the grand venue that would hold matches in the main round of the group tournament.
"I'll do it after the tournament is over. How is it?" asked Aaron, turning his head.
Eloise nodded, she didn't feel any objection to it. In fact, she still wanted to continue being with Emily until the time came for the girl to leave.
Emily responded with a smile, whatever Aaron decided, then Emily would do it obediently.
Feeling that there was nothing more to talk about, Eloise invited Emily to go back to the Sky Sword 25th HQ. Aaron invited them to leave.
"Shouldn't we go quickly to the monster raid?" asked Aerith, questioning Aaron's decision.
"Take it easy. The tournament time is only one month, that's a short time in my opinion," replied Aaron.
The two stepped together to leave the Dimension Justice HQ. Aerith had to admit that a month's time could allow Aaron to climb eight floors up to the 34th floor. Aaron realized that and understood the situation, but he didn't want to leave his group.
"Shadow Ruler is the group I founded first. My purpose in starting the group was just to help me move up floors quickly, as well as to rule over some floors," Aaron explained.
"The tournament became something interesting. It's a form of pride between the Shadow Ruler group and the other groups," Aaron said, glancing to the side.
"If we can take down the Rank High group, I'm sure Shadow Ruler will gain even more fame in this city."
Aerith sighed softly, her hands raised as if massaging her temples, the demeanor of someone who was dizzy. Slowly, Aerith understood Aaron's intentions. She wouldn't argue with him or reject the idea.
"Alright. But only until the tournament is over. After that, we have to catch up," Aerith explained, pointing at Aaron.
"Sure."

The next day.
City Guild Office.
Taking advantage of the two days off, the other Shadow Ruler members made use of the time by going to the guild office.
They did not come for the purpose of chilling in the cafeteria of the guild office, but rather to take general missions to increase contribution points.
The more contribution points, the higher the rank of the group. The more Shadow Ruler members who went on missions, the more contribution points would be earned. That was what Lewis had told them.
Even so, Aaron and Aerith chose to chill out in the guild office cafeteria. They didn't need to complete the missions if any of the Shadow Ruler members did, and Aaron didn't want to do that anyway.
From the direction of the second floor, Bella stepped down and passed Aaron. The two smiled and greeted each other, Aerith still showing her dislike for Bella.
"I heard your group made it to the Pre-Qualification semifinals? Congratulations, sir!" said the woman.
"Thank you. Would you like something to drink?" Aaron asked.
"No, I don't. I hate alcohol."
"By the way have you heard the latest news?" asked Bella, in a half-whisper.
"What?"
"Some people reported that you were involved in a relationship with the Shadow Ruler. That made Max take an interest in the group," said Bella.
'I didn't expect him to find out so soon,' explained Aaron.
It was indeed a bit risky for Aaron, who was a high-class fugitive from the Night Liberators, to roam freely in a big city like Lilith City. However, Aaron did not expect that he would be discovered so quickly by Max's men.
"Lilith City is no longer safe for you," Bella said.
"The best you can do is join the raid and keep moving up the floors," the woman continued.
"I hate to admit it, but she's right. We can't keep being here, the Shadow Ruler could be threatened! Your purpose could be threatened!" said Aerith.
Aaron fell silent when Aerith said that. He turned his head forward and looked at Bella, a staff member from the city guild office.
The man tried to confirm whether the information from the news was true or not, Bella confirmed that it was true.
"If it is true, then I have no other choice but to leave this city and get on the floor immediately," Aaron stated.
"That is indeed something you must do. Consider the Shadow Ruler's safety."
