Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Promise / Goodbye
The training goes on hardwork, determination in warriors outshines expectations. They finally had holidays now after a long training.
Scene: Returning Home
Vairaj, Jerome, and Zoya stepped off the train, their faces lighting up as they saw the familiar streets of their neighborhood. It had been a grueling year of training, and this one-week break was all they'd been looking forward to.
"I can't believe we're finally home!" Zoya said, her voice filled with excitement. "It feels like forever."
"Yeah," Jerome agreed, adjusting his bag. "But I bet it'll feel too short. One week isn't
enough to make up for the endless drills Kane puts us through."
Vairaj grinned lazily. "Forget the drills. First thing I'm doing is sleeping for 24 hours straight."
Zoya rolled her eyes. "Typical Vairaj. Meanwhile, I'll be helping my mom with everything she's missed me for house hold work."
Jerome chuckled. "And I'll probably be building something with my dad. You know how he is."
As they reached their homes, they waved goodbye to each other.
"Don't forget!" Zoya called out. "We're meeting up the day after tomorrow to hang out!"
"Yeah, yeah," Vairaj replied with a smirk. "If I don't oversleep."

Three Days Later:
The sun was shining, and the neighborhood was lively when suddenly, the earth began to
tremble. The sound of destruction echoed through the streets as a massive monster
emerged, smashing through the outer barrier like it was paper.
Panic spread like wildfire. People screamed and ran toward the inner barrier for safety, but
the officers of the Saviors were quickly overwhelmed. No God-level or Master-ranked officers were in the area—only lower-ranked ones who stood no chance against the massive beast and its smaller monster minions.

Vairaj's Home
Vairaj had been resting in his room when the ground shook violently. He rushed out to see
his mom lying on the floor, blood flowing from a gash on her head.
"Mom!" Vairaj screamed, running to her side. "Mom, wake up! Are you okay? We have to get out of here!"
His mom opened her eyes weakly and smiled at him, though her face was pale. "Vairaj… I
don't have enough time. Too much blood… has been lost."
"No! Don't say that!" Vairaj cried, tears streaming down his face. "I'll get help. We'll get you to safety. Just stay with me!"
Before she could respond, Vairaj's dad burst into the house, his face filled with fear. "Are you both okay? We have to leave—now!"
"Dad, Mom is hurt! I can't leave her like this!" Vairaj shouted.
His dad knelt beside them, assessing the situation with trembling hands. "Vairaj, listen to me. You need to run to the inner barrier. I'll carry your mom. We'll catch up with you."
"No! I'm not leaving you both!" Vairaj protested, clutching his mom's hand.
"Vairaj!" his dad roared, his voice breaking. "You need to go! Now!"
Vairaj's mom reached out, weakly gripping his hand. "Vairaj, promise me…" she whispered, tears streaming down her face. "You have to save this world from these monsters you have to save humanity people everyone.
You were… always so precious to me. Please… promise me."
"I can't… Mom, I can't live without you," Vairaj sobbed, shaking his head.
"You have to," she said, her voice barely audible. "For me."
His dad pushed him gently but firmly toward the door. "Run, Vairaj. Do it for your mom."
Vairaj hesitated, his heart shattering, but the urgency in his father's voice finally forced him to move. He ran out of the house, looking back to see his dad lifting his mom in his arms.
---
The Final Goodbye
As Vairaj ran, a massive monster loomed behind him. His dad rushed out of the house, still carrying his mom, but the monster was closing in.
"Keep going, Vairaj!" his dad shouted.
Vairaj stopped, turning around. "No! Dad, come with me!"
In a desperate move, Vairaj's mom pushed herself out of her husband's arms. "Take care of Vairaj," she said, her voice filled with love and sorrow. "Don't let him die."
"NO!" Vairaj screamed as the monster lunged. His mom shoved his dad away, sacrificing herself. The monster caught her in its massive claws and devoured her in front of Vairaj's eyes he just smashed his mom in his mouth.
Vairaj fell to his knees, screaming, "MOM!"
Another monster approached from behind, aiming for Vairaj. His dad, tears streaming down his face, pushed Vairaj out of the way and became the next target.
"Fulfill your mom's promise," his dad said, his voice filled with determination. "I believe in
you, my son."
The monster grabbed his dad, and within seconds, he was gone the residue left was just blood.
Vairaj collapsed, unable to move, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
---
Zoya and Jerome to the Rescue
"Vairaj!" Zoya's voice cut through the chaos. She and Jerome appeared, grabbing him under his arms.
"Get up!" Jerome shouted. "We have to move!"
"No… I can't…" Vairaj whispered, his body limp.
"You have to!" Zoya said firmly, tears in her eyes. "Your parents wanted you to live. Don't
waste their sacrifice!"
Together, Zoya and Jerome dragged him toward the inner barrier, shielding him from the chaos around them. Vairaj's screams echoed as they reached safety, the weight of his loss settling heavily in his heart.
Scene: After Reaching the Inner Barrier
Vairaj sat on the ground, trembling with grief, his eyes bloodshot from crying. He turned
toward Zoya and Jerome, his voice filled with anger and despair.
""Why did you drag me here?!'' he shouted. "Why didn't you let me stay? I wanted to die with them! Leave me alone. I'm broken. There's nothing left for me anymore."
Zoya, tears streaming down her face, stepped forward and slapped him hard across the face.
""How dare you!" she yelled, her voice shaking. "You think you're the only one who's hurting?
You think we don't feel the pain of seeing you like this? You can't just leave us and go! We're your family now. You can't give up on us... on yourself."
Jerome knelt beside Vairaj, placing a firm hand on his shoulder. ""Man, we're with you
Always. But you need to fight. Not just for us, but for your parents. They didn't give their lives so you could throw yours away."
Vairaj clenched his fists, his breath ragged. His mind raced with the image of his mom's last words and his dad's final sacrifice. He looked up, tears falling silently.
""I remember the promise," he whispered, his voice trembling but growing stronger. "I
promised my mom I'd save this world from monsters. And I swear, I'll make every monster regret their existence. I'll show them what violence truly is."
He stood, his eyes burning with a fierce determination. "Violence isn't just blood or death.Violence is brutality. And I'll become the storm they fear. I'll show them the cost of crossing humanity."
The Tragic Week
The week back home was somber. The city was overrun by monsters, and survivors were
relocated to a neighboring city. Vairaj, Zoya, and Jerome stayed in a small shelter with other refugees. The streets were quiet, the air heavy with the weight of loss.
At night, Vairaj couldn't sleep. He stared at the ceiling, his mind replaying the horrifying
events. Jerome would sit nearby, tinkering with a small gadget to distract himself, while Zoya tried to offer comfort, though she was struggling with her own grief.
One evening, Zoya found Vairaj sitting alone by a window, staring out into the dark sky.
"You miss them," she said softly, sitting beside him.
"I don't just miss them," Vairaj replied, his voice hollow. "I see them. Every time I close my eyes. My dad's voice... when he told me to run. My mom's face... telling me she believed in me. And the monsters... the way they..."
He trailed off, his voice breaking.
Zoya placed a hand on his shoulder. "We are still there Vairaj. We won't let you carry this
alone ."
Vairaj nodded silently but deep down, but deep down , his grief transformed into rage ----- a burning desire to fulfill his promise.
