Chapter 36: Solar Charging Panel
The green-haired man stared at the gun in Zhang Tuohai's hand, stunned for a moment. Then he burst into laughter, "What a joke! Someone's actually trying to scare me with a fake gun? If you've got the guts, shoot me! If I get scared, I'll call you dad."
Bang!
A gunshot rang out.
The three henchmen beside him fell to the ground.
Their bodies were riddled with bullets from No. 12 shells, and blood gushed out, staining their clothes red.
Staring at the fallen henchmen on the ground, the green-haired man was dumbfounded for three seconds before his legs went soft, and he dropped to his knees.
"Dad!"
Seeing this, Zhang Tuohai’s mouth twitched slightly.
"Damn, missed."
He had intended to shoot the green-haired man directly. However, when he pulled the trigger, he didn't control the recoil well, killing the three henchmen instead, leaving the green-haired man completely unharmed.
Still, this wasn’t much of an issue. At least the intimidation worked.
"I'll ask, you answer. Remember, you only get one chance. If I’m not satisfied, you know what happens," Zhang Tuohai said coldly.
"I understand, I understand. Ask away! I'll tell you everything!" the green-haired man hastily replied.
"Why were you chasing him?" Zhang Tuohai pointed to the red second-hand car that had crashed into the machine.
"He took a purple supply box. We asked him to hand it over, but he refused, so we chased him all the way," the green-haired man explained.
"Just for a purple supply box? You chased him all that way? Is it really worth it?" Zhang Tuohai was a bit surprised.
"Why wouldn’t it be worth it?" the green-haired man was somewhat indignant. "That’s a purple supply box! We usually only see white supply boxes, and we’ve only encountered blue ones twice. Finally seeing a purple one, of course, we'd go all out to snatch it!"
After hearing the explanation, Zhang Tuohai nodded. It seemed like he had been a bit hasty in his judgment.
With his system, he’d opened many boxes and participated in many "Challenger's Trials." He often saw blue boxes and didn’t value any single one too much. However, for ordinary people, the "Challenger's Trials" were a matter of life and death, and they could easily lose their lives.
In a day, they might only have a brief window in the morning to search for supply boxes, with white ones being the most common during the day. This meant that their resources were extremely scarce. No wonder they became so desperate at the sight of a purple supply box.
"Besides this, how many other people have you robbed?" Zhang Tuohai glanced at the baseball bat the green-haired man had tossed aside, noticing the dried bloodstains on it.
"None! This is the first time. We've never robbed anyone else," the green-haired man said, raising his hand as if to swear his innocence.
But as soon as he raised his hand, seven or eight wallets fell from his clothes.
Zhang Tuohai: ←_←
The green-haired man: ()
Zhang Tuohai picked up one of the wallets and opened it. Inside was a woman’s ID and a set of photos. She looked pure and innocent, completely unlike the rough crew before him.
Zhang Tuohai: "What did I just say?"
The green-haired man: "Let me explain!"
"Save your excuses for Death," Zhang Tuohai said as he pulled the trigger.
Bang!
The green-haired man’s body collapsed to the ground.
Since he had chosen to lie, it meant he was no longer of any use.
At least, Zhang Tuohai wouldn’t trust anything else he said.
After confirming the deaths of the group, Zhang Tuohai walked over to the red second-hand car that had crashed into the machine to check inside.
The car’s owner hadn’t shown up throughout the entire incident, and Zhang Tuohai didn’t know what had happened.
He approached the side door of the red second-hand car and saw that the owner was a young man in his twenties, slumped over the steering wheel.
The windshield was completely shattered, and a sharp shard of glass had pierced his chest, staining his shirt with blood.
Seeing the severity of the wound, Zhang Tuohai felt a chill. He knew this man was beyond saving.
"Any last words? Or would you prefer a painless end?" Zhang Tuohai asked the young man.
"Please...help me...deliver...this...to...my sister," the young man stammered, a trickle of blood flowing from the corner of his mouth.
He handed Zhang Tuohai a small oak box.
"Why not give it to her yourself? I thought people in this region could transfer items directly," Zhang Tuohai asked curiously, taking the box.
"We...are not...in the same region...my sister’s name is...Zhao Wan...wan...please..." The young man tilted his head and died after saying these words.
Zhang Tuohai looked at the oak box in his hand. It was palm-sized, plain, and had a small bronze clasp at the opening. The clasp was tarnished, showing signs of age.
A thought of opening the box arose in Zhang Tuohai’s mind, but after some hesitation, he suppressed it.
He gently closed the young man’s eyes. "I don’t know your name, but I’ll do my best to deliver this. If I can’t, don’t blame me."
"By the way, you probably won’t be needing the stuff in your car anymore, so I’ll consider that my payment." Zhang Tuohai opened the passenger side and took out the purple supply box.
"Let’s see what’s in these boxes," Zhang Tuohai said to the system.
[The orange supply box contains an enhanced solar charging panel, 4 units of advanced glass, 4 units of advanced plastic, 4 units of advanced metal ingots, and 1 unit of advanced electronics. The purple supply box contains a carton of milk, 1 serving of tomahawk steak, and a KFC family bucket.]
Zhang Tuohai felt a bit disappointed not to have found the air conditioner he was hoping for, but at least the items were useful, so it wasn’t a complete loss.
He opened the supply boxes, and the items spilled out.
[Enhanced Solar Charging Panel: Efficiently absorbs sunlight and provides power to the vehicle system. Generates 50KW per hour of sunlight and can store up to 24 hours of power.]
[Materials needed: 4 units of advanced glass, 4 units of advanced plastic, 4 units of advanced metal ingots, 1 unit of advanced electronics.]
"Impressive," Zhang Tuohai marveled at the power of the solar panel. It could generate as much energy as a small diesel generator and even store electricity.
However, the required materials seemed familiar.
Zhang Tuohai took another look at the materials from the orange supply box.
They were exactly the same.
"Could it be that every orange supply box is already stocked with the materials needed for its blueprints?"
