Rise of the Zerg in the World of Gods

Chapter 18: The Training Director’s Advice

On the large projection screen in front of everyone, the scene showed a vast valley where a group of Two-Headed Ogres lived peacefully.

In the center of the village, on a large open space, iron pots hung over roaring bonfires.

Meat was boiling in the pots, with bound goblins nearby.

Bones were scattered carelessly in the corners.

Though few in number, the Two-Headed Ogres were incredibly powerful. Even goblin tribes were merely food for them.

When encountering Two-Headed Ogres, goblins never resisted; they fled.

Even Goblin Chieftains were helpless against them.

Fighting Two-Headed Ogres not only resulted in heavy losses but was also futile.

The losses from a single battle would be devastating.

So they hid far away, even retreating underground.

Just as a few Two-Headed Ogres were about to throw the bound goblins into the iron pots, figures suddenly burst from the ground.

In an instant, Mantis Zerg leapt to their targets, their sharp forelegs swiftly decapitating the Two-Headed Ogres.

Blood spurted like pillars, heads flying skyward.

This scene was so sudden that the Two-Headed Ogres were completely unprepared, suffering heavy losses immediately.

However, as a battle species, both Ogres and Two-Headed Ogres had combat instincts ingrained in their blood.

Seeing their kind being killed, they felt no fear. Instead, they roared in anger, grabbing nearby spiked clubs and wooden sticks to counterattack.

Although Two-Headed Ogres were magic units, they weren't as fragile as goblin mages.

On the contrary, these burly giants possessed considerable close combat abilities.

After all, Two-Headed Ogres were at least elite templates, with stronger bonuses than ordinary species.

Facing the invaders, the Two-Headed Ogres launched their attacks.

They wielded weapons in their hands while one head controlled close combat and the other began chanting spells, preparing to use magic.

With two heads, the Ogres' casting speed was very fast. After a series of obscure incantations, dazzling flames appeared from different places, bombarding the Mantis and Beetle Zerg.

The Mantis Zerg, being fast, mostly dodged by jumping, with only a few hit. The Beetle Zerg, however, were different. They were relatively slower and larger, making them easy targets. Almost all of them were hit.

Although they had thick carapaces, this was magic damage. Some Beetle Zerg were severely injured, and the unlucky ones hit by two spells simultaneously died on the spot.

"Attack!" Xu Luo began commanding his Zerg army to advance.

The Two-Headed Ogres' spellcasting ability was indeed formidable, but there was one fact they couldn't change:

Their total number was only a few hundred, and some had already been killed at the start.

No matter how fast they could cast spells, there was always an interval.

The Zerg, on the other hand, had over ten thousand in number. Even if they only relied on numbers, they could overwhelm the Ogres.

More Zerg emerged from the ground, especially the Beetle Zerg, which acted like small tanks at the front.

The Two-Headed Ogres began to panic, shouting "Ula ula" as if discussing something.

Meanwhile, the dense magical attacks never ceased.

Moreover, their weapons weren't idle either. Any Zerg that got close would be attacked.

Although they couldn't kill in one or two hits, with all being elite units, the Zerg couldn't win in individual combat.

Two-Headed Ogre (Elite): Bronze Tier 9 Talents: Dual Casting, Melee Attack! Skills: Crippling Strike, Magic Attack, Berserk!

The Beetle Zerg formed a protective army at the front, while the Mantis Zerg waited for opportunities, pouncing whenever possible, striking quickly, then jumping back.

Compared to the previous battle with the Goblin tribe, this large-scale battle was incredibly fierce.

The battlefield was strewn with flesh and severed limbs.

Although few in number, the Two-Headed Ogres' suppressive power was truly terrifying.

"So this is what Two-Headed Ogre mages are like? Initially Bronze Tier 9 creatures, with a bit of cultivation they can become Silver tier units!"

The observing students couldn't help but exclaim.

The Ogres' individual combat power was incredibly strong.

If they had encountered Ogres in their previous invasions, none of them would have passed.

They didn't have tens of thousands of units like Xu Luo.

"But what exactly is Xu Luo's species? It wasn't apparent when killing goblins, but now facing Bronze Tier 9 elite Two-Headed Ogres, they can withstand their damage. Their own tier must be quite high!"

"That mantis-like creature's foreleg was cut off, but it's slowly growing back. Is this limb regeneration? That's too powerful! With such an ability, they don't have to worry about injured units!"

Although they couldn't identify Xu Luo's units, everyone could see that being able to face elite Two-Headed Ogres head-on meant these units were also very powerful. More importantly, there were so many of them. Victory was just a matter of time.

"It seems Xu Luo has given us many unexpected surprises!" Zhong Tianyue spoke happily.

"Indeed, indeed!" The other leaders also wore broad smiles.

As school teachers and leaders, they hoped their school would produce more geniuses and prodigies, the more the better.

In the education system, their achievements depended on the students' performance.

Their Sixth Middle School hadn't produced a participant for the global tournament in many years, let alone for the whole civilization's selection.

After the neighboring Eighth Middle School produced one in the past two years, they had become unbearably arrogant, boasting whenever they met. No matter how angry they felt, they could only endure it. What could they do when their school wasn't performing well?

Now, seeing hope, they were naturally delighted.

"Deputy Zhao, I don't think it's a big deal. It's better to be forgiving. Let's drop it," the Training Director advised Zhao Yiming discreetly.

In his view, it was just a conflict between children. Zhao Yiming, as a parent, intervening was already losing face. Ordinary students, Zhao Yiming could target without consequence, as others would overlook it for the Xiang family's sake.

But it was different for a student with high talent and potential. He was doing this for Zhao Yiming's own good.

Making an enemy of a genius wasn't a wise decision.

Zhao Yiming nodded with an ugly expression, seemingly taking the Training Director's words to

heart.
