Re:Zero - Reincarnated on a Co-op Route

Chapter : A Little About Kaoru

Kaoru Shimizu's profile

Name: Kaoru Shimizu

Gender: Male

Age: 17 years old

Height: 179 cm

Weight: 70 kg

Hair color: Black, medium-length and slightly tousled

Eye color: slanted black eyes with dark circles

Body type: slender, slightly athletic

Kaoru lives with his two parents who are absent most of the time, so he spends most of his time alone in his room watching anime or playing video games. he found school rather boring and had no clear purpose of what he wants to be in this world. he simply kills time in his idleness and loneliness. he has practically no friends other than class acquaintances. but as he continued in his monotonous life, he began to wonder if he would ever find a purpose or something to be passionate about.

Kaoru Shimizu is a high school senior in Chiba Pref. He wasn't the most charismatic type, I mean, I think even a potato has more charisma than he does, so he was quite reserved.

He was remarkably good at sport, but he wasn't at the top of his class by any stretch of the imagination, he was probably better than average because he exercised regularly at home.

When the school year started, Kaoru Shimizu and Natsuki Subaru were put in the same class. Kaoru talked to Subaru a few times. He was very energetic, a bit too much so, and his joking side was very obvious. Still. I really liked Subaru. I thought the others were too hard on him.

I felt something about him, like he was just a facade. And as quickly as it started, that energy faded within a few weeks of the class.

And then...

He started skipping classes, first one day a week, then two, then three, and it wasn't long before I hadn't seen him in the classroom for three months.

Maybe I'm a bit weird for checking which days he was missing, but it doesn't matter. I guess I'm a bit parasocial.

Kaoru Shimizu's Childhood

From an early age, Kaoru Shimizu was surrounded by silence. His parents, both professionals dedicated to their careers, were always absent, but in a quiet way. There was no shouting or conflict, just an absence of emotional closeness that marked him. Kaoru grew up in a home where expectations were high but affection was scarce. His parents, though not cruel, paid little attention to him, believing that education and success would be enough to give him a good life. But Kaoru was missing something much deeper: a real connection.

In his childhood, Kaoru was not the child who ran to his parents to tell them about his problems. On the contrary, he learned early on that his thoughts and feelings were not a priority. Loneliness became his refuge, and he became an expert at hiding his emotions behind a serious facade.

Books were his greatest comfort, especially fantasy and adventure books. In the pages of these stories, Kaoru could be part of magical worlds where the rules were different and where he didn't have to deal with the emotional disconnect of his everyday life. It was his way of escaping from a reality that neither understood him nor understood him.

"God, I wish I was in an isekai, being the OP hero with a harem of big-ass chicks"

"this boredom is killing meee"

Kaoru puts down the Manga and stretches out, suddenly feeling his stomach rumbling.

"I'm so hungry. I should get something from the shop before it's too late, maybe some instant ramen and some snacks."

Kaoru quickly puts on a black racer jacket, a white t-shirt, grey pants and white sneakers and leaves his apartment to go to the grocery store.
