Chapter 6: Chapter 06- Chasing The Curses
Sachiko started running around when she was around eleven months old. Misaki and Yuki were amazed by her quick development and kept calling her "genius baby" which was slowly starting to boost Sachiko's ego.
As soon as she could run, Sachiko had been running around the house and testing on reinforcing her legs with cursed energy. It worked but Sachiko was not satisfied with the speed just yet and wondered if she was truly that of a genius because monsters like Itadori Yuji learnt how to use cursed energy in a fight in less than a year. But, then again, Itadori Yuji was fifteen or sixteen and she was only nine months old. At least, that was what she liked to think.
So, Sachiko pushed the small doubts to the back of her head and only listened to what people were praising about her. Wasn't she truly a genius?
With such affirmations, Sachiko was currently running around the house to chase a flyhead in Yumi's house, which actually turned out to be the one beside hers and explained how Yumi could turn up at her house every morning. Sachiko also quickly found out that curses generally do not come into her house or to be more precise, her vicinity. She was a bit sad for a while after finding this out because she was looking forward to kill curses and boost her ego about being strong and stuff. But, no, the curses don't even come near her.
That led her to treating Yumi's house as a place for exorcism. She would ask her mom, Misaki, to drop her off at Yumi's house every other day and then she would try to find curses there and kill them like what she was doing right now.
Sachiko was now running and chasing the flyhead as it tried to run away from her. She would try shooting out a blast of cursed energy but just yesterday, she accidentally broke a lamp in Yumi's house when her cursed energy hit the lamp instead of the curse. So, she felt like she had to avoid breaking stuff for a while, and actually chase and capture the curses.
After half an hour of chasing it around, which Sachiko blamed her short baby legs, she successfully captured the flyhead in her hands. Sachiko had a big smile on her face as she focused cursed energy in her hands and killed it.
On the other hand, Misaki looked a bit concerned as she watched her baby running around the house and doing weird poses. Yumi also looked like she wanted to join running with Sachiko but Sachiko somehow convinced Yumi to sit in a corner and draw circles, which Misaki felt amazed and then concerned for Yumi at the same time.
--------------------
Sachiko continued to chase flyheads whenever she saw them after realizing Misaki and other adults never thought anything about running around the house and occasionally breaking things because she was a baby. She started to get bolder and even shoot out cursed energy to kill the flyheads and other low grade curses ,which most of the times, she missed and broke things in the house. Then, she would look at the adults with teary eyes and say sorry in baby mumbles, and that was it. She always get away like that.
Yuki was sometimes not amused to see her visiting because she kept breaking stuff but that usually went away when Sachiko complemented her in her baby voice.
Babies don't lie to impress someone so the compliments usually put Yuki in a great mood and pamper Sachiko with snacks and toys.
Besides, Yumi also loved when Sachiko came to visit her house and she was always excited to hang out with Sachiko even after starting pre-school herself. For that reason, Sachiko knew Yuki wouldn't drive her away or anything like that.
-------------------
Two years and three months later,
Sachiko was already a little over three years old now when she just woke up one morning and realized that her cursed energy control was a lot better than before. She excitedly got up and try gathering cursed energy around her fists. It was a lot smoother and somehow she felt like she understood more about cursed energy and how to control it better.
"Could it be that this is my cursed technique?" Sachiko couldn't help but mutter. The feeling was strange and she wasn't feeling like she was using a technique. It was more like a passive effect where her control of cursed energy is heightened.
But, after a few minutes of getting used to it, Sachiko realized that she didn't really feel any side effects from this, meaning she could leave it on as long as she wanted.
Then, she also noticed that she could see the probability of an event or something in either percentage or scenario. It was exactly what she asked for when she used one of her wishes and at that moment, Sachiko was sure that she would become strong.
With the knowledge of her cursed techniques, Sachiko started training. Since her cursed techniques were basically innate, she first named them "Possibility" and "Cursed Energy Control".
Her first attempt in using Possibility to see the chances of her mom cooking her favorite Katsu curry tonight was a failure but that was before activating her other cursed technique and the scenario she gave was a bit too specific for first time.
So, Sachiko tried using "Cursed Energy Control" to use her Possibility in a more efficient way and it showed her a percentage of 40%.
Then, Sachiko had an idea and went on to ask Yumi to play "rock, paper, scissors " with her.
"Are you sure? You're bad at this game, Sachiko chan." Yumi said as she was dragged by Sachiko.
"I'm not bad in the game! How can I be bad in a game? I'm a natural born genius." Sachiko said with a pout.
"Okay, that's kinda true.." Yumi nodded as she remembered how Sachiko chan always taught her new things and how they were amazing.
"Anyway, let's play!!" Sachiko announced as she activated her cursed techniques to see the probability of Yumi picking a paper. It was a little tricky but Sachiko saw the percentage of 100.
'Scissors it is then!' Sachiko went with the scissors and just as her cursed technique predicted, Yumi used paper, making Sachiko win her first "rock, paper, scissors " match.
"Heh, told ya! Yumi! I was letting you win all this time haha"
Definitely not true, since Sachiko just got her cursed technique but Yumi didn't know that and what she didn't know couldn't hurt her.
'Besides, is it even winning if you don't trash talk? No, right?'
At least, that was what Sachiko thought.
And, yes, Sachiko totally crashed Yumi's spirit to play "rock, paper, scissors " after she learnt how to cheat in that game with her cursed techniques.
Sachiko called that a big win.

A/N:
Here goes another chapter!
I'm loving the dynamic between Yumi and Sachiko but I know we have to move forward to get to some plot. It's fun to write a younger Sachiko who was getting all those praises for basically doing things someone who was nineteen year old mentally could easily do and Sachiko getting her ego bigger by those praises.
And, Yumi who longed to be a big sister but ended up becoming more like a dumb younger sister who does everything their older sibling says and still thinking that she is now a big sister for Sachiko chan. I just love how Misaki was concerned for her when she sat in a corner and drew circles as Sachiko told her to.
Anyway, I absolutely loved writing this chapter and I want to know how you guys think about this rewrite version so far!
