Chapter 3: Chapter 03- Toddlers Are Annoying
After three months of pretending as a typical baby, Sachiko was officially bored. So, now, she was in her crib, thinking whether she should try shooting out cursed energy to kill the curse in the yard. Surely, her cursed energy had to go through the window and actually hit the curse which would require lots of practice but Sachiko was willing to try it out of sheer boredom.
'It's not like it's even grade four, right? What's the worse that could happen?' She thought to herself as she tried feeling her own cursed energy. In these three months, she had been trying to get the hang of letting cursed energy flow inside her body and strengthening it as a whole but she had never tried focusing on one part of her body and then shooting it out.
'Let's try it anyway!' Sachiko then started focusing cursed energy on her finger tips but controlling the amount of cursed energy output was far more difficult than she thought it was going to be. Because she had infinite cursed energy, she cannot tell how much cursed energy is her output based on the feeling of using something up. For her, no matter the output was, her cursed energy amount remained the same so her sense of using cursed energy per some unit was almost non-existent.
As such, she ended up putting what she thought was good enough and sent it flying towards the window successfully but it collided right into the window door and the cursed energy absolutely shattered the window, including the frames and nearby wall.
Misaki was in the kitchen at that time and the moment she heard the loud noise, she ran into the room to check.
As Sachiko saw Misaki running over, she started crying as if she was scared so that there would be no reason for Misaki to think that she was weird. She had been crying for so many times as a baby that she doesn't even need a reason or any effort to cry anymore. She could just think about crying and tears would come out like a river at this point.
Seeing her baby crying, Misaki had to tend to her daughter before thinking how the window shattered in the first place.
"Oh dear..are you alright? Did some of the glass shards hit you?" Misaki tried to look for any injuries she might have and only when she saw none, she sighed in relief, "It's okay, it's okay now. Don't be scared, okay? Mom is here.." Misaki muttered.
Sachiko didn't know how Misaki could be so gentle and loving after every annoying little things she did , and she felt awkward for the mothet love she was getting.
-----------------
Next day, Misaki put Sachiko in her crib after she was fed and told her, "Sachiko chan, today, I have to go out to find a job so aunt Yuki will look after you today, okay?"
Sachiko pouted because she remembered seeing a messy toddler with Yuki everytime Misaki brought her to visit Yuki's house. If Yuki was looking after her, doesn't that mean the toddler was going to be around?
Sachiko tried to object to the idea and she wanted to say that she could look after herself but since she was a baby, she could only make baby noises which was not helping her case so much.
Misaki thought that her daughter didn't want her to leave, so with a gentle smile, she hugged and promised that she would be back soon and that she loved her, which again, made Sachiko feel a bit awkward.
Eventually, the toddler and mother pair arrived to look after Sachiko and Misaki left the house. Sachiko even tried crying out loud so that the toddler wouldn't hang out with her but Yuki thought that it was a great idea to let her toddler watch the baby.
Surely, Yuki was there to supervise but toddlers were very curious creatures, the toddler child poked Sachiko's hands and cheeks with her fingers several times and laughed happily like a weirdo. Sachiko was not very happy with the whole experience of being treated like a doll and she pouted all the time.
The toddler watched her every move and facial expression closely in a curious manner and then turned to her mother to say, "Mom, this baby looks ugly. Why is her face all wrinkled up?"
'BECAUSE I AM POUTING, YOU WEIRDO!' The exact words came from the toddler made Sachiko even more annoyed and frustrated. Why was she literally reborn as a baby and having to endure this kind of torture?!
Sachiko ended up crying and at this point, she was starting to think whether there was such a thing as baby hormones because why else was it becoming so easy for her to cry?
Yuki was stunned at first by her daughter's choice of words and only came back to herself when she heard Sachiko cry. "Yumi, you don't say that to others, okay? Besides, I'm sure Sachiko chan was a bit uncomfortable and thus she was making a face to let us know that she was uncomfortable."
The annoying toddler, Yumi, tilted her head a bit and repeated her mother's words, "She's uncomfortable? Then, what can I do to help her?!"
'STAY AWAY FROM ME!!' Sachiko was mentally screaming at this point.
"Hm.." Yuki thought for a while, "Maybe we can try giving her milk to calm her down. Besides, it's almost lunch time now."
"Okay!! Can I give it to her?" Yumi asked excitedly as Yuki went and grab a milk bottle for Sachiko.
"Uhh..sure, I'll show you how to do that, okay?" Yuki said, then showed her how to feed a baby.
Yumi was excited to try what her mom just showed her but when Yumi gave Sachiko the bottle and put it in her mouth, Sachiko waited until Yumi's face got close enough and then she spit out the milk, making it spray over the toddler's face.
Yumi was still confused on what happened but then, she started crying and begging her mother to go home with her because apparently, this ugly baby hated her.
And, Sachiko wanted to roll her eyes at the last statement, 'WHY WOULDN'T I HATE YOU WHEN YOU CALLED ME UGLY IN MY FACE?! LOOK AT ME, MY SILVER HAIR, HAZEL EYES AND THOSE CHUBBY CHEEKS, EVERYONE KNOWS I AM A CUTE BABY, ALRIGHT??!?'
Sadly, Sachiko's inner monologue was not heard by the mother-daughter duo as Yuki had to try and comfort her daughter and then explain that they couldn't leave the baby alone in the house. To Sachiko's surprise, Yumi listened to her mother although she looked sad.
They ended up just having a quiet afternoon where Sachiko just stared at the ceiling while staying in her crib, Yumi glancing at Sachiko's direction every few minutes and Yuki looking after both kids.
