Chapter 7: CH 6 - ORGANISATION

Kai woke up early, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness. Today was the day he would finally learn more about Dr. Taylor's organization and possibly uncover some secrets about Project Elysium.

He got dressed and made his way downstairs, where Dr. Taylor was already waiting for him with a cup of coffee. "Good morning, Kai," she said, smiling. "I trust you slept well?"

Kai nodded, taking a sip of his coffee. "Yeah, I did. Thanks for asking."

Dr. Taylor smiled and gestured to the door. "Shall we get going? We have a bit of a drive ahead of us."

Kai nodded, and they set off in Dr. Taylor's car. As they drove, Kai couldn't help but ask questions. "So, what can you tell me about your organization?" he asked.

Dr. Taylor smiled, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Let's just say that my organization is a group of people who are dedicated to understanding and dealing with paranormal and supernatural phenomena," she said. "We've been around for a long time, and we have a lot of resources and expertise at our disposal."

Kai's eyes widened in surprise. "That sounds like a pretty big deal," he said.

Dr. Taylor nodded. "It is. And I think we may be able to find some answers about Project Elysium there. But we have to be careful. There are people who would love to get their hands on that technology, and they will stop at nothing to get it."

As they drove, Dr. Taylor noticed that Kai seemed a bit distant. "Kai, you seem a bit strange," she said, turning to him with a concerned expression. "Is there any problem?"

Kai hesitated, unsure of how to explain the feeling that had been growing inside him. "I mean, it's just that after I got the remote, everything seems different," he said. "Like I'm missing someone, but I don't really know who it is. It's like I just forgot someone, but I'm not sure."

Dr. Taylor's expression turned thoughtful. "It might be just your imagination," she said. "The remote control is a powerful device, and it's possible that it's affecting your perception of reality. But it's also possible that there's something more to it."

Kai frowned, unsure of what to make of Dr. Taylor's words. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, that someone was missing from his life. But who?

Dr. Taylor seemed to sense his unease. "Don't worry, Kai," she said. "We'll figure it out. We'll get to the bottom of this and find out what's going on."

After a while, they finally arrived at the organization's headquarters. As they stepped out of the car, Dr. Taylor turned to Kai and said, "Remember, Kai, hide the remote. We don't want anyone to know about it yet."

Kai nodded and tucked the remote into his pocket, making sure it was well concealed. Then, they entered the building, and Kai was immediately struck by the sheer size and complexity of the organization. There were people rushing to and fro, all of them seeming to be in a hurry.

As they walked through the lobby, everyone turned to look at Kai, and some of them asked, "Who is this guy?" Dr. Taylor smiled and said, "This is Kai, a student from a local college. He's here for some research purposes under my guidance."

The people nodded and returned to their work, seeming to accept Dr. Taylor's explanation. Kai felt a bit self-conscious, but Dr. Taylor just smiled and led him to a room deep in the building.

As they entered the room, Kai was struck by the array of equipment and technology that filled the space. There were computers and machines that he didn't recognize, and a large table in the center of the room that seemed to be covered in papers and files.

Dr. Taylor closed the door behind them, and they were alone in the room. Kai looked around, taking in the sights and sounds of the organization. He had a feeling that he was in for a wild ride, and he wasn't sure what to expect.

Dr. Taylor walked over to a laptop that was sitting on a nearby desk and started to use it. She began to enter the organization's database, searching for any information on Project Elysium. After a few minutes of typing, she finally found a folder with the project's name on it. However, as she tried to open it, she was met with a restriction notice.

"Ah, it seems like this folder is restricted," she said, looking at Kai with a curious expression. "But don't worry, I have the permission to access it."

She logged in with her credentials, and the folder finally opened. However, to their surprise. the folder only contained a single document file. Dr. Taylor's eyes narrowed as she opened the file and began to read its contents.

"What is it?" Kai asked, leaning in to try and get a glimpse of the document.

Dr. Taylor's expression turned serious. "It's a restriction document," she said. "It seems that Project Elysium was restricted due to concerns about its potential impact on the world."

Kai's eyes widened as he read over Dr. Taylor's shoulder. The document was filled with warnings about the dangers of delving into fantasy and ancient magic. It stated that these forces were not fully understood and could potentially cause harm to the world if mishandled.

"It says here that the project was shut down due to the risks involved," Dr. Taylor said, her voice filled with a mix of curiosity and concern. "But it doesn't say what happened to the research or the technology that was developed."

Kai felt a surge of frustration. They had come so close to finding answers, only to be met with more questions. "What does it mean?" he asked, feeling a sense of desperation creeping in.

Dr. Taylor's expression turned thoughtful. "I think it means that Project Elysium was more than just a simple research project," she said. "It was a warning, a warning about the dangers of playing with forces that we don't fully understand."

Kai's eyes locked onto Dr. Taylor's, filled with a sense of determination. "We need to know more," he said. "We need to find out what really happened to Project Elysium and what the consequences of using the remote control could be."

Dr. Taylor nodded, her expression firm. "I agree,"

Kai thought for a moment, his mind racing with possibilities. "But I guess since the lab where the remote was found is hidden, can it be that someone conducted the experiment secretly?" he asked.

Dr. Taylor's expression turned thoughtful. "I think that's a possibility," she said. "And if I'm right, you were involved in that too," Kai added, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Taylor's expression turned defensive. "I think that's possible, but yeah, I'm sure I'm not involved in the experiment as much as I remember," she said. "And even though, if the experiment was a success or failure, it's strange to just let the remote be hanging there."

Kai nodded in agreement. "That's true, no one would want to leave such a powerful gadget on the ground," he said.

Taylor's expression turned puzzled. "But we have no clue at the moment, and we have no clue how the stone was found or how the technology even made it," she said.

Kai thought for a moment, his eyes scanning the room. "Well, it does say it's something related to magic and ancient times," he said. "Could it be of any help if we went to someone who knew about ancient times?"

Taylor's expression turned thoughtful, and then a look of realization crossed her face. "I knew someone like that," she said. "We can go see him. He's an expert in ancient history and mythology. Maybe he can help us uncover more information about the remote control and Project Elysium."

Kai's eyes lit up with excitement. "Let's go," he said, already heading towards the door.

Taylor smiled and followed him. "Okay, but let's be careful," she said. "We don't know what we're getting ourselves into."

As they walked out of the room, Kai felt a strange presence, like someone was following him. He couldn't see anyone, but he could sense it. He glanced around, but the hallway was empty.

"Hey, Taylor, do you feel that?" Kai asked, his voice low.

Taylor looked at him, confused. "Feel what?" she asked.

Kai hesitated. "Like someone is following us," he said.

Taylor's expression turned serious. "Let's keep moving," she said.

Kai nodded, but the feeling only intensified as they walked. He could sense eyes on him, and he couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.
