Chapter 34: little Adrian
Chapter 30: little Adrian
Little Adrian Adrain, now three years old, was a puzzle to those around him. He was a siren, a strange and enigmatic boy who acted far older than his years. His mother, Lady Adriana, and Ryder, his father figure, exchanged worried glances as they observed Adrian's unusual behavior.
Adrian's recent nightmares had been a cause for concern. Every night, he would wake up, screaming, "Let burn down the temple!!! Let burn down the temple!!! Let burn down the temple!!!!" The sentence echoed in his mind, a haunting refrain that seemed to come from a strange boy he felt a deep connection with, a boy who felt like family.
One morning, Lady Adriana walked into the room to find Adrian sitting on the floor, surrounded by books. "What are you doing, Adrian?" she asked softly.
"Reading, my lady," Adrian replied, his voice low and serious.
Lady Adriana's eyes widened in surprise. How could a three-year-old boy read? And why did he refer to her as "my lady"? She pushed aside her concerns and asked, "Come down for breakfast?"
"Will Pops be joining?" Adrian asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Not sure, dear," Lady Adriana replied, her voice tinged with sadness.
Ryder, Adrian's father figure, had not gotten over the loss of Ayra, his loved one, over the past three years. He still blamed himself, and Ayra's memory haunted him. The tension between Ryder and Lady Adriana was palpable, and they hardly spoke to each other.
Meanwhile, in a dark room lit by candles, Priestess Diana sat with Luke, her voice dripping with malice. "Priestess Diana, I just found out that the last noble siren lady is dead," Luke said, his tone cheerful.
Priestess Diana's eyes gleamed with excitement. "Yes, that's good news. I can't wait for Eden to come pleading for mercy."
The scene ended with a sense of foreboding, the darkness and candles creating an ominous atmosphere.
