Reincarnation of a Hunter

Chapter 9.2 - Unity (2)

It’s like saying I’d buy him, but I’m actually asking for it.

 “Huh? You’re such a brat.”

Because it’s worth it. I saw him use techniques that are only done by experts, and he’s a sword user.

I smiled and convinced Sergio.

“I scratched the product, so I should buy it. Don’t you think?” “…You saved my life, so I’ll just give him to you.”

Sergio must have seen the strength and growth potential of the beast.

It’s a bit of a waste, but it was only a few minutes ago when I saved Sergio’s life.

It would be hard to refuse.

“Once you’re done healing, hand me the slave imprint properly.” “Of course, Viscount. I’ll send it to Marseille the day after tomorrow.” “Send it to the inn where I’m staying. Since I’m also hungry.”

Sergio laughed loudly at my comment.

“Haha! Of course, we should treat our guest to a meal, I’ll take the lead.”

Sergio took us to a restaurant above the slave market.

The entire second floor was a private dining room, and on the terrace, there were large tables spread out in the cool shade.

One of them led us to a seat with an open view.

“You can sit here and see the entire market.”

Servants began bringing meals to the table, even though we hadn’t ordered anything.

The amount of food they carried made it seem like they lived by the numbers

“Thanks for the hospitality.” “You are a humble man.” “There’s nothing special.”

I replied casually and began eating. I also talked to Sergio during the meal, overlooking the view of the slave market.

“But do you count me as a customer? I’m a nobleman of the Han family.” “Han you say, even the smallest lords have knights, soldiers, and conscripts to recruit.  I have them. Moreover, the tax revenue was at a level that would make even a very wealthy person blush. “You know noblemen quite well.” “Hahaha! How can I be a merchant if I don’t know a nobleman?”

Then Sergio started describing the product. It’s a merchant’s nature to promote it to potential customers.

“For quick strength, the beast is the best, and for intelligence and endurance, humans are the superior. Dwarves and gnomes are said to be clever, but there is a big difference depending on the individuals. Elves sleep a little and are industrious.” “If we’re clearing the large forest, we’ll use the Wolfman as soldiers, humans for logging, and elves for farming. That should do it.”

Sergio’s eyes grew wide with what he heard.

“You’re clearing a large forest. Impressive.” “First of all, I’m also a man.”

I smiled, and Sergio made a suggestion.

“Did you get all the officials?”

His intention in asking this was to put his person next to me.

It means that he thinks highly of me.

Since I was looking for someone to help me run the estate, there was no reason to refuse.

” Aha!… If you have recommendations, send them to the Inn the day after tomorrow.” “Thank you. I will send my second son.” “If he’s with you, he’ll be quite useful.” “He’s a better businessman than I am, so you’ll like him.”

With staff and budgets tight, competent people are welcome.

It just might be a coincidence that there’s been a lot of second children.

Two days later.

Guests came to the inn where the group was staying.

Diego, the son of Sergio and Raul the Wolfman.

I greeted them in a corner of the large hall.

Already seated there were Martin, the escort knight, Chloe, the handmaid, and Pascal, the officer’s son.

I sat with them around a roundtable and said.

“You are all my chief secretary from now on.”

All of them look confused except for Chloe. They remain silent, and no one dares to ask a question.

Martin couldn’t help but ask,

“My lord, what do you mean by that?” “If I had to find something close to that, it would be a butler.”

The butler was like a corporate secretary.

In addition to serving the lord, it was an important position that combines the role of both advisor and commander.

Therefore, most butler position are given to well-educated upper-class people.

“So, are we going to share the work of the butler?” “You will also be given work in fields that are right for you.” “When you say field, you mean…” “Chloé for foreign affairs, Martin for internal order, Pascal for civil affairs, Diego for the economy, and Raúl for defense.”

Everyone was surprised by what I said.

They don’t have any particular titles or accomplishments, so it’s normal to be surprised.

There was also the issue of identity.

Martin was a knight, Chloe was a daughter of a former noble family, Pascal was a son of a semi-noble, Diego was a commoner merchant and Raul was a slave.

Diego, looking troubled, slowly raised his hand.

“Please speak.” “The others have already served you, but I and the slave have just met you here for the first time, didn’t we?” “I’m not worried about such qualifications. Everyone here is 19 or 20 years old. But I don’t need perfect people, I want you to grow with me and fill in the gaps.”

Chloe, who’s 26, does not react and only blushed

They’re probably more confused than excited.

At least there’s a glimmer of hope in Raul’s eyes, as he’s about to be freed from slavery.

“I’ll give you some time to think about it.”

Diego asked again,

“How long do we have to decide?” “Five minutes? It’s time to get on the boat.” “…”

I’m not here to make friends with these guys.

If I had to, I’d drag them away by force.

A lot of work would be needed to fix a ruined estate.

I never intended to fix it alone.

Gentlemen. Welcome to the world of late nights and overtime.
