Reincarnated With a Cheat System

Chapter : [Prologue] Truck-kun’s Unfair Play

The hum of the city was like a never-ending symphony of honking cars, distant chatter, and the occasional siren wailing through the night. Akira Hitoshi sighed as he trudged down the sidewalk, his body aching from another grueling day at work. His tie hung loosely around his neck, his black hair disheveled, and his eyes, dark from exhaustion, scanned the glowing streetlights that lined the road ahead.

"Another day, another yen… and for what?" he muttered. "At this rate, I'll be married to my job before I even find a girlfriend."

The thought of his tiny apartment and instant ramen dinner made him sigh even harder. But as he approached the pedestrian crossing, something felt… off.

There was no traffic.

No cars. No people. Just eerie silence.

The pedestrian light turned green. Akira took a cautious step forward, his instincts whispering that something wasn't right. He shook his head. "I'm overthinking it. Probably just late-night fatigue."

Then, just as he reached the middle of the road—

HONK!

A deafening sound exploded in his ears, and before he could even turn his head—

BAM!

A massive truck appeared out of nowhere, its headlights blinding him as it barreled toward him like a vengeful god of isekai clichés.

"ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" was all he managed to yell before impact.

Welcome to Another World

Akira expected pain. Maybe even a dramatic montage of his life flashing before his eyes. Instead, he felt… light.

Slowly, he opened his eyes, only to be met with a strange sight. He wasn't in a hospital. He wasn't in some kind of afterlife.

He was in a bedroom—but not his own. The ceiling was made of finely carved wood, the air smelled faintly of lavender, and a large window let in the golden morning light.

Akira sat up, rubbing his forehead. Something felt… wrong. His arms were thinner. His hands—smaller.

Then, he noticed a mirror on the other side of the room.

He stumbled out of bed and nearly tripped over his own feet, his balance completely off. Why am I so short?!

When he reached the mirror, his breath caught in his throat.

Gone was his familiar black hair and tired salaryman face.

Instead, a boy—no, a child—with white hair and striking red eyes stared back at him in shock.

"What… the… hell…?"

As if things weren't weird enough, a voice suddenly echoed inside his head.

[ Initializing System… ]

[ Welcome, User. You have been successfully reincarnated. ]

[ Scanning environment… Identifying current location: Kingdom of Argenia. ]

Akira blinked. "Wait. Reincarnated? Like… those isekai novels?!"

[ Affirmative. ]

A silence stretched in the room as he processed the absurdity of the situation. Then—

"TRUCK-KUN ACTUALLY GOT ME?!"

He clutched his head, trying to piece everything together. Okay, okay. Deep breaths. I was walking home, a truck hit me, and now I'm here.

A sudden rush of memories flooded his mind. Birthday parties, childhood lessons, playing in the garden—except none of them were his.

They belonged to Phyro—an eleven-year-old noble from a small aristocratic family in Argenia.

And Akira had just become him.

"…This is insane."

A System With No Instructions? Great.

[ System Online. Awaiting User Input. ]

The voice inside his head was calm, robotic even, but Akira wasn't. He took a deep breath and focused.

"Uh… what exactly is this system?"

[ The System assists the User in navigating this world. ]

[ Core Functions Unlocked: Editor – Modify any attribute of yourself or others. Spawn – Create any inanimate object at will. ]

Akira's jaw nearly hit the floor. "Wait, WAIT. That's… broken. That's ridiculously broken!"

He clenched his fists, testing his strength. Could he really… modify his own stats?

An idea hit him. What if I edit my strength?

He focused on his body. A transparent blue interface appeared in his mind.

[ Phyro Nishiki ]

Strength: 3 (Average for a child)

Akira smirked.

"Let's crank that up a bit."

[ Strength: 3 → 15 ]

Instantly, power surged through his body. He clenched his fists and felt his muscles tighten. It worked!

Excited, he turned toward the wooden bedpost and gave it a light punch.

CRACK.

The entire bed snapped in half.

Akira froze.

Then—

"…Uh-oh."

Just then, the door slammed open. A well-dressed woman with concerned eyes rushed in. Phyro's mother.

"Phyro! What was that noise?"

Akira—or rather, Phyro—turned to face her, the broken bed behind him. He put on his best innocent expression.

"Uh… termites?"

The woman narrowed her eyes but sighed. "Honestly, child, you should be more careful."

Akira wiped imaginary sweat off his forehead as she walked out. Crisis averted.

But as soon as she was gone, he grinned.

"This is going to be fun."
