Rias settled into her chair, steepling her fingers. "The Church reached out to the Demon King. 'Regrettably, due to the Fallen Angels' erratic movements, we propose… communication.'" She scoffed. "They also 'apologized' for letting Valper escape custody years ago."

Kazuki's jaw tightened. "So, they're not apologizing for this mess. Typical."

"The Fallen Angels sent their own excuses to Heaven and the Underworld," Akeno added, her smile sweetly venomous. 

"'Kokabiel acted alone. His plot to reignite the Great War violated our neutrality.' They've sentenced him to eternal torment in Cocytus' deepest pit."

"Convenient," Kazuki muttered. "Dead men tell no tales. You really trust their word?"

"Of course not," Rias said coldly. "But publicly, we'll play along, for now."

Issei raised a hand nervously. "Uh, what'll happen to Valper?"

"Valper has been handed over to the Church," Rias replied, her tone firm and unyielding. "He'll likely be executed as a heretic. After all, he now knows the truth about God's absence."

"I see…" Yumi murmured, her expression darkening with a mix of emotions.

Kazuki noticed the troubled look on Yumi's face and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, his gaze steady and reassuring.

Sensing his touch, Yumi softly placed her own hand over his, nodding as if to say, "I'm okay." He had been worried that she might fall back into the darkness, but it seemed his concerns were unfounded.

Ahmm. Rias drawing everyone's attention continued, "By the way, it seems that Azazel, the Governor of the Fallen Angels, will soon be holding a meeting with representatives from both Heaven and the Underworld. We've been invited as well since we were directly involved in the incident. They want to hear our side of the story."

Kazuki couldn't help but grimace internally. 'A meeting with all those big shots? Sounds like a pain in the ass. Is there any way to get out of this?'

"And just so you know," Rias added with a sly smile, "all of my servants are expected to attend. So be prepared. Understood?"

"""Yes, ma'am!!!""" the group chorused in unison.

'Damn, she's cut off all my escape routes,' Kazuki thought, sighing inwardly.

"Good. I'll let you know the schedule once it's finalized. That's all for now. Dismissed!" Rias declared, her tone leaving no room for argument.

As soon as Rias announced the dismissal, Xenovia strode straight toward Asia, her expression serious yet softened by a hint of remorse.

"Asia Argento," Xenovia began, her voice steady but laced with regret. "I owe you an apology. I misunderstood you. It wasn't until I learned the truth about God's existence and was branded a heretic myself that I truly understood your pain. I'm truly sorry."

With those words, Xenovia bowed deeply to Asia, her head lowered in genuine contrition.

"W-what!? Please, Xenovia-san, there's no need for that!" Asia stammered, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I've never held it against you! And… I'm actually quite happy with my life now. Even though I became a devil, it's because of that I've met so many precious people. I'm truly happy now."

Asia's gaze drifted to Issei standing beside her, then to Kazuki and the others around her. A gentle, almost saintly smile spread across her face, radiating pure warmth and affection.

'Our Asia-chan really is a sweet girl,' Kazuki thought, his heart swelling with pride. 

'That bastard Issei is one lucky son of a bitch. If he ever makes Asia unhappy, I'll fucking kill him.' Unintentionally, Kazuki's killing intent flared for a moment, causing Issei to visibly shudder. 'Oops, my bad.'

Xenovia seemed captivated by Asia's smile for a moment, her expression softening further before she finally relaxed.

"I see… I hope I can find happiness like yours someday," Xenovia murmured, her voice tinged with longing. "Well then, I'll take my leave."

With a lonely smile, Xenovia turned on her heel and walked away.

'It'll probably take some time for her to fully adjust to being here,' Kazuki mused, watching her retreating figure. 'I hope she can find her own happiness here too…'

Later that night…
